Dougie Donnelly might be getting on a bit, but he showed again tonight how much better a professional broadcaster is compared to ex-footballers just playing at it.
From injured in league cup campaign to not ready for Bertha Berlin,to maybe playing against rangers to being fit and trainec all week to not feature in squad against at mirren, lennons stealing a wage.
I reckon we'll need 2 strikers, a midfielder and 1/2 central defenders. Michael Wimmer said that we needed to strengthen our striking noptions and we all knew we were light in that department going into the League Cup group games. Those games only confirmed what we already knew. Some very neat football but absolutely no cutting edge.
Yeah, ramblings of a bewildered OAP. I was waiting for some comments from him about how if we were an independent country that weβd lose all our pensions.
I think people are worrying about nothing.
Based on absolutely nothing at all, other than media reports that more than one team is at or close to our valuation, my hunch is he'll be sold for more than Turnbull and we'll get some nice future payments with add-ons.
Definitely - much preferred the time prior to the transfer window when we didn't find out who we'd signed until the Satruday morning before a game. Normally when wee Tommy had been on the sauce and taken a late night call from his brother Jim.
Miller was never going to be featured in any of our competitive games and if anyone thinks he's not playing due to an injury, I have a nice bridge in Brooklyn looking for a buyer.
He's out of team because a deal (or deals) is/are being negotiated and it suits all parties to keep him wrapped in cotton wool.
I'd be amazed to see him in claret and amber again, unless it's a testimonial match (or if he signs for Roma).
Too far away to think about. Lets get the League Cup out of the way first. Hopefully the Miller deal will be concluded and we will have a few more bodies in the door.
I think the way we are playing certainly minimises opportunities for other teams to score against us as they have to work really hard to get the ball from us and keep it long enough to do something with it. Yesterday was impressive the way we hunted down in packs and won the ball back quickly when we lost it.
I do worry about our ability to score enough goals though and we do still look vulnerable from set pieces.
Hopefully Stama is fit enough to start and Said doesnst suffer any negative reaction to yesterday. I think he and Maswanhise either side of Stama could create chances.
Im gonna go 2-1 Motherwell.
I went to school with Catherine Pettigrew who was Willie Pettigrew's neice. I've heard of Marinello but not the other two - I'm feeling quite young - for once ππππ - it won't last
Iβm glad Archie McPherson is only commenting for one week on sportscene, itβs a brutal listen. Itβs like sitting next to one of the old codgers in the main stand.
We are not far away. Totally dominant today. Final ball was poor but I'll tell you this this Motherwell team are infinitely more watchable that the shite we watched under Alexander , Hammel and Kettlewell. I enjoyed the game again today , a goal would have rounded off a controlled professional performance. SOD had a fine game and I'll be interested to see the handball again that wasnt given.
St Mirren really are a shower of dirty bastards..
I said earlier on the Miller transfer that i hope the club is not getting greedy, any player is only worth whatever clubs are willing to pay?
Let's be honest Miller cost us next to nothing so any decent 7 figure offer and we are making a fantastic profit.
All the earlier talk of Β£10 million was fantasy, that said I'd be delighted to be proved wrong. For me if any club was offering say Β£3 million and Miller wanted to go I'd bite their hand off ( ugly sisters excepted)
The clubs interested in him know they can wait and get him for feck all next summer so I hope the new club board realises this.
