  1. Even before the sending off that is one of the most controlled and professional performances I have ever seen from a Motherwell side. Over 700 passes - I doubt we managed that in a full Graham Alexander season.

  2. Does anyone remember the 25th of Oct, half time, when we were 1-0 down to livi ?? There was relegation chat and 'does the manager have a clue' chat. Things have changed a bit 😉 Given the wholesale changes about everything we do, i'd have been happy with a consolidation season to develop the new style and let the players get used to it, weed out the ones who weren't going to cut it and maybe get a couple in, with a view to being a well developed side next season. To be fair, I think it's coming together really well, and the football tonight was just brilliant at times. We've shown periods of what we can do, but tonight we were great. Don't forget we were already playing well before the pen and the sending off. Everyone was proper 'on it' tonight and the players who came in were clearly up for giving the manager a selection headache.

  3. That’s the best I’ve seen us ever retain possession against 10 men

  4. The increased attendances have been the biggest impact this season. I used to despair that we were stuck at 3500/4000 for home support. It had been at that level for years. Just shows if you give the punters something to enjoy and get behind they will respond. Being so close to Christmas I don't think we will hit the 7000 mark. Think 6000 is more like it for a midweek game. Get a good result tonight the crowd on Saturday could be a 15 year high. Been many a year since we were getting these numbers

  5. Attendance tonight was approx. 6500 with 1500 hibs fans. Not bad for a mid-week game.

  6. Massive selection headache for JBA but good problem to have. Think there could be 10,000 at this one. 4 wins out of 5. Let's keep this awesome run going. COYW

  8. Iniesta for me……. Sorry Priestman, my mistake. The lad had a blinder. TJ was excellent too …. Totally rattled them in the first half and Welsh is the best defender we’ve had in years.

  9. I saw that he definitely dug him out but they both ended up smiling….. I liked it

  10. Top notch. For me that was our best performance of the season, at least that I've seen. A goal in the second half would have topped it off but other than that we were absolutely fantastic. Brilliant in possession, defended well when we had to, didn't lose composure when Hibs tried to press us high up the pitch, some great bits of skill from Said, game management was excellent, we just looked like a team that didn't have any weaknesses and that with perhaps not an optimum starting XI. And kinda on that subject, I thought Oscar Priestman was absolutely fantastic tonight. Got to say he hadn't shown me much in his sub appearances but I thought he was our best player tonight coming in for his starting debut.

  11. 100%…. As I said above, it’s been brilliant so far, not to tempt fate.

  12. I'll be the first to admit, I thought Priestman looked shite in his first couple of cameos, but looked decent when he came on a couple of games ago and has been excellent tonight. Biggest compliment you can give is that so far, the midfield hasn't missed Fadinger and Slatts so far. I was worried about tonight cause Hibs have been a decent side so far this season, but we've been unreal. Like watching Spain from 2008

  13. Been very impressed with Priestman. Tidy player on the ball.

  14. We need to stay switched on and offer them no encouragement at the start of the second half.

  15. 2-0 up and against 10 men, what could possibly go wrong

  16. Adding goals to possession definitely helps.

  17. Im just hoping the plan isn’t to be heavily beaten

  18. He obviously has a plan - no idea what it is.

  19. Hope I’m proved wrong but that line up gives me the fear, no natural left back, an aging McGinn at right back, only one of Watt, Fadinger & Slattery, and no real centre forward. We have a decent pool of players now and I know we have a lot of games coming up but swapping out half the team when we’re playing one of the stronger teams in the league seems mad.

  23. There may be a player there but he needs to start scoring goals from open play to convince people that there is. For me i think he is anonymous in a lot of games and never seems to make any significant contributions, not that the penalties have not been significant and important, but he needs to do more to win his doubters over

  24. For a club like Udinese spending £4 or £5 million on a young player to develop etc is loose change to them. He was brought in as a project and not as a regular 1st pick starter as most on here thought he would be, he will get his chance.
