  1. Had a quick look 10 mins ago. If the Map is accurate and if my Windows scanner / calculator is correct we have seats left in John Hunter Stand 144 Cooper Stand 183 Main Stand 335 3 x Home Stands Capacity 9242 Which means the home support will be 8580 , if its accurate that's an incredible home support.

  2. A comfortable and deserved win for us today although, as others have said, we weren't at our best. United came for a point and altered their approach to nullify us. It didn't work. Right from the off, they niggled and timewasted and JT in particular came in for for some special treatment. We looked to be wasteful but the penalty set us on our way. Having reviewed the highlights it was a stick on penalty. The United defender was stupid in the extreme and took his instructions just too far. I was surprised that a foursome of United players were allowed to harass the match officials during the VAR review. Our second came quickly and unexpectedly just after the break. Although the ball took a slight lucky deflection it made up for rotten luck at other times in the game. Thereafter, we were content to let United come at us and became a little complacent and sloppy. Still, the 3 points were safe. I thought that the long ball tactic was interesting. A novel idea that caused United problems, but the execution didn't quite match the principle. Over the peice, I thought that Slattery, Said and JT were our best performers on the day. Thor also looked good when he came on and has a nice touch for a big man.

  4. Thought Fadinger was very good. But given how critical I was of him last week, Ive voted for Slattery. Worked really hard and cut out any nonsense, including the lazy passes he is prone to playing. Everything he did was positive. He can enjoy his Saturday night knowing he was a very good team mate!

  5. I think it shows how far we have come as a team when you leave the ground slightly underwhelmed with a 2-0 victory over Dundee United. I thought we were pretty good first half. Controlled the game and limited them to one decent chance. Created plenty ourslves and should have really scored a few goals. Had no idea what happened with the penalty at the game, but from the highlights their defender clearly elbows JT in the midrift, so think its a fair enough shout. Got lucky with the finish for the second goal, but given the other chances we created (and missed) we probably deserved it on pressure alone. Was disappointed how we finished the game. We got sloppy with our passing and made some pretty bad decisions. A better team might have taken advantage. Overall though, great 3 points. Thought we had gears to go and can certainly play a lot better. We might need to next week.

  6. Trying not to be too greedy but the way things are now I want to overtake at least one of the Glasgow teams , but both that would be sensational

  7. Dundee Utd were man marking so were making it harder to play out from the back so he had to go long more often that would be usual.

  9. Another clean sheet. The best goal difference in the league. Playing the best/most entertaining football. Have to keep pinching myself.

  12. They're all going to be tough for the rest of the season. We're going to make up some ground tomorrow, though. For now, I'm looking forward to see if we can break into the top 3, and see what happens after that.

  13. We are getting a bit sloppy and lackadaisical

  14. This Utd team is very much in the Jim Goodwin mould. Blocking, kicking, niggling at every opportunity.

  15. Usual story. Very comfortable but need to score some goals to kill the game.

  18. Let's not change the narrative here, Slattery was bang out of line and deserves the flak. Hes a top player too but hopefully thinks twice before he does that again. Don't mind the buying of soft fouls, that's clever but last week was bang out of line, especially when we were cruising.

  19. This is goals conceded in the last 10 league matches. Motherwell - 3 Rangers - 8 Hearts - 10 Dundee - 11 Falkirk - 11 Hibs - 12 Celtic - 14 Dundee Utd - 17 Aberdeen - 18 ST Mirren - 20 Kilmarnock - 22 Livingston - 23 Celtic have actually conceded 2 or more goals in 6 out of the last 10.

  20. Playacting will be rife as it is every other week as will the other dark arts of wasting time, clipping ankles jersey pulling etc etc. ( I know that is exactly the point you are making). I think the problem with Slattery's incident is that it was so blatant and so completely unnecessary on every possible level. The biggest danger is that now Slattery is the boy that cried wolf so I would think Jim Goodwin will be telling his players that they have a couple of free hits on Slattery today should he play. The refs are going to be very wary every time Slattery goes down. It was an unbelievably mindless thing to do last weekend and he has shot himself in the foot.

  21. If I was dropping anyone it would be Priestman. He doesnt deserve to be dropped, but he is a huge asset to bring off the bench with 30 minutes to go. He is the most natural replacement for Watt, and protecting him after the 60 minute mark would be smart imho. The alternative is go same again and bring Fadinger on after 60 minutes for either Watt or Slattery.

  22. A wee bit of self promotion, sort of! Myself and fellow Well fan Gary Muircroft (Crofty off Go Radio) have started a podcast called Motherwell Daft. It's available on You Tube, Spotify and Apple. We've done 2 episodes already, pre and post St Mirren. We plan to do a weekly preview and then review of all Motherwell matches, so any feedback is appreciated, not to mention likes, shares and for folk to subscribe! Cheers 👍

  24. Celtic have two games in hand, while we have a game in hand over Rangers, so I think the worst result would be for Celtic to win. A draw would be best though.
