  3. I've said it before, but it bears repeating. It's ridiculous that after selling MIller, we improved the quality of our midfield. It's the best combination I have ever seen at Fir Park. Imagine Gary McAllister lining up beside Just, Watt and Fadinger.

  4. I think he is the one player in the team we would struggle to replace. On top of being one of the best technical players in the team his work rate is ridiculous. Top player.

  5. Rebuild the POD rebuild the Hunter if the new neighbours don’t like it then they can move Fir Park was well established before the new homes were built.

  6. That's a shame , humble Stuart could have a hand in relegating two teams this season.

  7. I think Maswanhise will be wanting to cash in on this season. Its been a breakthrough for him. You can already see it in some of his performances where he is choosing to try and score himself rather than play in a team mate in a better position. Not faulting him for that, its his job. But you can see he is focussed on numbers. If a big offer comes in from a club he likes, I dont think we can stand in his way. Only so long you can play the, "Dont worry son, we will see you alright card" which I presume was leaned heavily upon during the winter break. If he hits 30 goals by the end of the season and we make £4-5m, he will go with my best wishes. Hopefully our recruitment team already have the next prospect identified and waiting in the wings!

  10. I like Just too much, we should just keep him until his contract runs out.

  11. There are many aspects to the stay V go debate Jonesy, but for the moment I'll focus on the community argument. What community are you referring to? If we assume that Ravenscraig is the preferred location, a site would be approximately 1Km from Fir Park, as the crow flies. Thats about the same distance from Fir Park to Asda, and considerably less than the distance to Forgewood. So, it wouldn't be a huge move distance wise. Motherwell is a strange settlement geographically as its part of a wider conurbation including Wishaw, Newmains, Craigneuk, Netherton, Cambusnethan, Newarthill and now Ravenscraig. Indeed it used to be part of the Burgh of Motherwell and Wishaw. The only similar places I can think of are Stoke on Trent and Levenmouth. Remove the placename signs and visitors would have difficulty in knowing exactly where they were. In short, how do we define a settlement? Over the years, Motherwell and satellite settlements have changed dramatically and evolved and must continue to do so or they will die. It needs to be conserved not preserved. My own family originally lived in Logan’s Rows then moved a short distance to Forgewood Road. Post WW1 they moved to Netherton and split to various places like Knowetop, Pather, and outside Lanarkshire. They began supporting MFC when we located at the Roman Road ground and continued when we moved to Fir Park. In microcosm that’s how a community evolves. Like it or not, Ravenscraig is just a modern version of Netherton, Pather, Gowkthrapple Coltness etc, which all developed post WW1. A lot of big Ifs in this discussion, but if we ever do move to the likes Ravenscraig, it wouldn’t be ripping the community apart.

  12. Sell JT ASAP in the summer, because I still think he might be a 9 or 10 goals a season striker elsewhere next season, including Fir Park

  13. I see from a Dons site, that Mark Reynolds hung up his boots yesterday after the Highland League Cup semi for Banks O Dee. Good player for us, before he moved on to Sheffield Wed.

  14. Nice internet debating technique. Don't want a substandard stadium build then you are a luddite. It's possible to hold two (or more) thoughts at once. I don't want a substandard new build and don't like the substandard facilities we have now. Maybe there are other options that are better, and that's why we have invested in reviewing options.

  15. I see the luddites are out in force tonight, we have two srands at Fir park that are not fit for purpose by todays standards and expectations from the paying public, bolting seats to old terracing and having people pay to sit on seats in the pod stained with pigeon crap, every 2nd or 3rd one broken, turnstyles that were modern the last time we won the league, unsafe congestion in public areas etc and people are getting teary eyed and sentimental about it, aye ok then. Would you accept sub standard and or potentially unsafe conditions in a theatre, restaurant etc, football grounds are no different.

  16. Davie Cooper would have been 70 today. Tragically taken from us far too young. Still one of best players I ever saw in a well jersey
