  1. A good way to improve fitness is to play games.

  2. If we can buy the 2 houses at the south end, to enable a stand to be built full length, then get it done.

  3. Aye. Comms from the club havent been great during pre-season. Of course some things need to be kept under wraps, like transfer negotiations etc, but simple things like who is fit and who isnt should be fairly straightforward. Also with the World Cup and everything else going on, media focus is elsewhere.

  4. By the sound of some folks experience of the “new” seats in the POD stand, maybe the club should put a first aid kit under every one of them.

  5. I agree. I dont think fans need a lot of information. But something along the lines of "the club have received these reports and it will take some time to digest the information contained. Meanwhile we will embark on a process to replace the seats in the POD to ensure we can continue to use it for UCL games. The work is scheduled for.....and is due for completion by......" Silence just allows fans to fill the blanks for themselves.

  8. I think now would be a perfect time for the Chairman to address the fans and steady the good ship fanbase. No need for panic and no need to go into great detail but just a wee pep talk to sustain last season's momentum. We've heard plenty from departing players' agents and buying clubs about our players but nothing from our own club. Time for some leadership.

  9. Doubt that would be feasible as it would block natural light to the houses already in place there and was AFAIR one of the reasons it wasn't completed like that in the past.

  10. We need to spend large sums of money on infrastructure, but the team on the park badly needs reinforced and time is against us. We simply cannot afford to lose the momentum generated last season. The fans now need some good news for a change.

  14. If selling Watt enables me to get a recaro seat fitted in the POD then I’m all for it. Not that I want to sound selfish 😂

  15. Well said, thats a bit of positive action that needs to be taken, as the only viable solution for the POD is to demolish it and rebuild it fit for purpose for the demands and needs of the modern game.

  16. I just wonder how the "upgrading" to seating in the POD fits in with our long term stadium plans. Its been quite some time now since the Directors announced that they had commissioned, and received, a consultants' report on the pros and cons of moving to a new stadium. No doubt they have now digested and considered the contents. Clearly the current replacement of seats is a sticking plaster job, unfortunately literally, as well as metaphorically. From early fan feedback it seems to have been mishandled in term of comfort and practicalities. I just wonder why this wasn't carried out a wee bit earlier? From online comments, it seems that our home capacity is being cut to around 7,500, if my understanding is correct. In saying that, I don't know if we can use the South Stand for home fans. If our crowd is limited then it could cost us some income over 1, hopefully 2 or more Euro games. Well into 5 figures in total. Presumably the project will be completed by our first home league game against Falkirk? Looking at the big picture, I do wonder if the POD will be replaced, as opposed to relocating to a new stadium. If so, the current seating "upgrade" looks like a budget, but still expensive, emergency measure to keep the POD on life support. A wee bit more transparency on this issue would have been welcome a month or two ago. Maybe when our European spot, and seating implications were confirmed? Better late than never though.

  17. I hope he does well but not to sound salty, he’s not exactly set the heather on fire anywhere in his career until last season and clearly JBA got the best out him. We’ve seen it before KVV, Theo Bair….. even Ward, get them for nothing, give them a new lease of life and punt them for a good amount before they start to underperform. i sort of feel the same about JT, I felt the dip in his performance last season was drastic. The only player I see moving and getting better is Just. Just in my view is our real class act.

  18. Europe should be what we aspire to. It's a massive achievement for us and should be celebrated. Increases clubs and players profiles. I'm buzzing to be in Europe. It is difficult but there's always hope. Can't wait for match Thursday.

  19. Probably 75% of the teams who qualify for Europe know they will " do nothing of note" as you put it, we are in that position, we will never win a euro trophy but qualifying for the group stages would be the next best thing. Euro qualification is a wee bonus for having done so well in the previous season, when we ended up as the 4th best team in the country. We are a small provincial club but weve had quite a few euro adventures over the years, seeing how far we can get and having a great time in the process, and giving me some of my proudest moments as a well fan, ie champions league in the olympic stadium in Athens. So however we end up in this years ECL we have earned the right to be there and give it our best shot. So why dont we all get right behind AJ and the team and see where the adventure takes us the experience is worth it.

  20. That was a hangover from the previous season though, not from a standing start, and had been building from about March. He should really have been dealt with as soon season as the previous season had ended rather than prolong the agony. As shite as Ricki Lamie was the worst thing he ever did was score that goal v Livi or Alexander would never have made it to the Sligo game.

  21. We tried to play the same, given the limitations of the team selection,, but until we can field our strongest 1st choice 11, with the new signings up to speed etc its hard to compare.

  22. Wasn't at the game but he corrected the interviewer in the post match game saying we weren't changing the system we were consolidating it. Think that spells out his position pretty clearly.

  23. Loads of cash but no players. I thought just could do better than Swansea but as long as money is good. We need to realise AJ needs time
