  2. I don't agree Utd have been the better side or that it's obvious we were losing today when it went 1 - 1. A very rare bit off good link up play led to the 2nd and we've upped it since then. If Utd hold on it will be frustrating but to suggest it was a foregone conclusion is nonsense.

  4. The wheels came off for Hammell when Van Veen bottled 5 chances at home to Dundee United..... Kettlewell was utterly clueless in that second half.

  6. Thought it was an enjoyable game we missed our chances and they took their one chance and got the break. Keeps things interesting til end of the season

  7. We've won 5 of our last 8 games fs. Beating both Edinburgh sides and high flying St Mirren. Every team needs a maverick and we have one in VV but be under no illusion, performances in the last 8 games have been a team effort. You've got to be trolling now. Away to your bed .

  8. Disappointing way to lose. But it was good to see van Veen get his 20th league goal, a great effort in what has been a struggling side for most of the season

  9. The frustrating fine margins of a game. If Van Veen buried his chance you feel that we would have won that comfortably. Even Furlong passed up a great chance, if only the young chap had more composure. Their keeper had a habit of dropping crosses to his feet it was annoying that we didn't pick up on that. Whats the script on the penalty incident, I thought the second looked much of muchness, a point Kelly seemed to be suggesting to Nick Walsh.

  10. His tactics are basically the same as Alexander's. Cede possession to the opposition and hope we score our chances.

  11. Kettlewell and the whole team were pretty much clueless all game. Jim Goodwin absolutely bossed him today.

  12. McKinstry got the Lionel Ainsworth treatment today when the manager comes running to the good player he's frozen out when he needs rescued. He showed more in 5 minutes today than Aitchison has since he arrived. A better manager would have given him a run out last week and improved our chances of winning today.

  13. They are a poor side but they definitely have our number. Yes we have created and missed several chances against them but they know how to nullify us.

  14. Very frustrating game. Dundee Utd's second half performance probably shaded the game for them but we had so many chances to end the match 2-0 and didn't take any of them. Was impossible to say if our disallowed goal was good from my position in the stands, thought the first penalty probably was one although Fletcher is absolutely looking for it. Didn't play badly but we were down a level on recent performances.

  15. They are pish. It's 1 win, 1 draw, 1 defeat this season and in all three games we have missed easy chances.

  16. Bit disappointed to lose this but in no way surprised. A typical United game and result. I think they have our measure. The table looks as though its now sorting itself out and no way will United go down. They'll take points off the other bottom 6 teams having won 2 on the bounce. We should go into the post split fixtures 7 points above the play off spot and thats great. 8th spot is ours to lose, unless the sun hats and beach balls come out.

  17. Thank you. Called it. No we aren’t.

  18. I don’t remember Kelly having to make a save. We’ve had far better chances to put it to bed so no one to blame but ourselves

  19. Panic in the VAR booth as the official struggles to find his Motherwell rule book and after a few minutes of fruitless searching has to use his Old Firm guide instead. (One pager - goal given).

  20. I hope I’m cheerful later on too. You want me to take some photos of inside Fir Park for you? Seeing as you’ve probably forgotten what it looks like.

  21. Agreed. United will be well up for this one, these are the kind of games they'll need to get a result from if they're going to get out the bottom 2. Having said that, we're on great form, we're playing well and scoring lots of goals. We've got momentum and a positive mindset, they'll be playing with fear. I'm going for a 3-2 'Well win. Who knows, we might go to parkhead next week with a half decent chance of getting top 6!

  22. As always with Well fans we always go into each game with the fear. Utd will be battling for survival but I would rather focus on ourselves and the great run of form....16 pts out of 21 and a team full of belief and confidence. Prediction. 2-1 utd 🤪🤪🤪 Only joking, hopefully another fine Well win on to quote Bill Withers, a lovely dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. A lovely dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  23. Spoke to him last Saturday and reckons 2 weeks he should be fit to score the winner at Parkhead!!

  24. I'm not in full glass half empty mode but I have fear about this game. We're playing very well and getting results but we've all been here before as Well fans. Hope I'm wrong.

  25. He's not in the matchday squad because he's rubbish. Do the club need to announce this every week? He probably wants to leave, we want him to leave, he's under contract, the transfer window is closed. The 'silence from the club' is because there's nothing to say...

  26. I think Stuart McKinstry has been a victim of circumstances. When he came in Ketts said that he'd strip things back to basics, which he's done very effectively. He believes 3-5-2 suits the players he has at his disposal. It remnaisns to be seen how Ketts reacts when we're safe - does he change the system or try out fringe players to assess them for next season? As for young Stuart - he is out of contract at leeds in the summer. Other things being equal he'd like to stay if the circumstances were right I'd think. But, if he wants to move on then who can blame him. A lot depends on the conversations he's had with the manager. Don't forget, during the dark depths of Hammell's reign, he was one of our better players - not an easy time to shine for any our lads.

  27. Someone suggested in a different thread that the player himself hoped to be back for the Celtic game. On Mandron, I don't think the guy is fully fit, I actually think he did fine against Livingston as he won the ball in vital positions which led to the first and second goals. Looking forward to Saturday, Goodwin made a comment about passing up a Premiership gig which married up to the timeline when we were looking, I can't remember his exact dig but it was along the lines of the job was beneath him. I'm confident that we can pile on the misery on Saturday.
