  1. Which would still be adjudged as being in line and therefore not offside for most of the years I've been watching football. But I don't know what this season's directive du jour (directive du saison?) might be...
  2. Not going to get too excited by that, I'd imagine that's pretty standard for any vacancy that pops up. Some agents will chuck their clients' names in the hats pretty much automatically as soon as they read about it on the interwebs.

And to be honest, I've been kinda grateful to have no access to live coverage of any kind on match days so far this season...
  4. One that thought it would be cheaper than being taken to court by the players who were presumably contractually entitled to it?
  5. Can't really help, but don't forget Phil probably won't be in any squad photos from that year, as he didn't rejoin us until halfway through the season.
  6. Yes, draw was held at the dinner on Saturday and winners announced here: http://www.thewellsociety.co.uk/2014/10/04/well-society-raffle-winners

    Josh Law Vs Faddy

Far worse places he could have ended up. Certainly not sure it's any worse than another season watching him played out of position one week and on the bench the next.
  8. My mistake, the email did actually say that we'd only won 4 out of 19 since reaching the 2011 Cup Final. I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse...
  9. I probably would too, once. But they're not really comparable achievements anyway -- in recent years we've shown we're more than capable of beating any team (well, except one) that we'll face in the Scottish Cup... just not when it mattered. But over the same period, we've never really looked capable of beating teams of the standard that would get us into the Europa League group stages.
  10. The pre-Accies email the club sent out put it rather more starkly -- of the 19 knock-out ties we've competed in under McCall, we've won 4. Even given that a few of the losses were against clearly superior Euro opposition, it's hard to argue that's in any way acceptable for a team that's proven itself to be the second-best in the country for most of that time.
  11. If he thought a second offence had occurred in the box he had no option but to give the penalty, whether Brown was already off balance due to earlier contact or not. Only if he didn't think that should he have pulled it back.
  12. Nothing in my Inbox either. Though if it's this guy, his Twitter bio does describe him as "the main man at motherwell football club" (capitalisation his)... https://twitter.com/frewsy1
  13. A bit poor alright. I was going to say it was probably one of the Well Society summer interns being a bit over-zealous, but I've just read their names in an article and it's neither of them.
  14. It's entirely possible he's just not very good any more... it took him years to have a couple of good seasons with us, and he's averaged about 4 goals a season since he left.
  15. Doesn't help us exiles a lot unfortunately :/ One less incentive for folk abroad to join the Well Society too, as it was pretty much the only useful benefit on offer, even if it was only for a year.
  16. Fwiw, McCall confirming in the pre-match presser this morning that Euan Murray is definitely away.
  17. And eventually to being the token baddy on Fame Academy. But he did call Paddy Kielty a wanker live on air, so it wasn't all bad.
  18. Motherwell have often sent a team over to that in the past, seem to remember seeing photies of us playing Man Utd when Beckham played for them...? EDIT: And come to think of it, we won the first one, in 1983.

It can indeed, would just be slightly surprised if SPFL licensing allowed free to air webcasting of any games, geo-locked or not. But I'm sure our media manager is on it... oh, wait

Hmm. Wonder how that'll work for live commentary, and I guess we can kiss goodbye to our promised live video coverage outside the UK...
  21. Twitter is hardly the place for in-depth analysis, so I don't mind that. Though "we're gutted about the result" is kind of the football equivalent of the "I'm sorry if you were offended" type of apology.
  22. He does have a published squad number, it's 13. http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/players/first-team/
  23. Quite possible Clarky would be paying his own way, a busman's holiday in the sun with some of his old mates and the possibility of a contract offer at the end of it probably wouldn't be the worst way he could spend a few hundred quid.
