  1. From the highlights, when he blew the whistle, everybody was outside the box, or on the line at worst: It also didn't look like he was going to signal for a retake until he'd seen what happened with the rebound. Given that Josh Law, who was virtually in line with the ball when the kick was struck, then cleared it out the park, I don't see that he had much choice.
  2. To be fair, if that's not encroachment, it's hard to imagine what is-- especially as the defender who encroached then cleared the rebound.
  3. He briefly turned up at our school in Hamilton later in the 80's too. Seem to remember him minding our Chemistry class one day!
  4. Never entirely sure what sort of 'atmosphere' a flare is meant to create. Is it the fun of your boat sinking, the joy of being stuck on a mountain with a broken leg, or the elation of trying to throw off a heat-seeking missile that's about to blow you out the sky?
  5. Certainly some far more encouraging stats from the game today: Possession ABD 51% - MOT 49% Shots 11-11 On target 2-7 Corners 9-10
  6. You say that as if being in the right place at the right time isn't one of the most important skills a Number 9 can have.
  7. Off the top of my head, it's another vote for the '91 Cup Semi Replay from me, even if I did get hit with a rock on the way out. Beating Rangers 3-0 at home a few weeks later to hand Aberdeen a golden chance of winning the league is up there too, even though Aberdeen then bottled it.
  8. The vibe I get from Mr Hutchison is that a dwindling support would just cause him to declare the business unsustainable and walk away before his five years are up, rather than being taken as a sign that he needs to do anything radically differently.
  9. Haters gonna hate. He'd be better off just ignoring them and doing his job as he sees fit.

    Mcghee Out

    "HOTD for this pish".
  11. Probably not, but even with a massive budget you still have to buy the right players... something which certain managers at our club haven't had the best record of doing when they've had an (albeit smaller) amount of cash to splash.
  12. I'm sure somebody has the stats that will prove me wrong, but is it really taking any longer than usual? Can't say it really feels like it to me.
  13. Doesn't particularly surprise me... the Villa fans I know couldn't wait to be shot of him. His teams were papped out the FA Cup by lower league opposition four seasons in a row though, so he'd probably fit in well here
  14. And she can take Paul Daniels with her.
  15. 3. We have virtually the same thread talking about virtually the same people every time we're looking for a manager.
  16. Possible they've already done the Skype phase. Great though modern technology is, you can't beat meeting someone face to face to figure out what sort of things they're passionate about, when they might be telling porkies, etc.
  17. Seems to be, yes. Perhaps he's learnt a little humility in the meantime
  18. No doubt Erwin went there for more money, and he might be disappointed that he's not getting any first team action. That doesn't necessarily make it a bad move for him though; at a club the size of Leeds he'll still be benefitting from better facilities (and arguably better coaching, given our current predicament) than we could offer him, and whoever he ends up being loaned out to could still be playing a higher standard of football than a bottom-half Scottish Premiership club. It's the guys like Tom Hateley who give it all the "bigger challenge" chat and then struggle to get a four month deal at Tranmere Rovers that I'm more inclined to reserve my "telt ye's" for.
  19. Especially given that the same agents are just sticking the same 30 or 40 names forward every time a managerial vacancy comes up... it's not like any of them have any special desire to manage Motherwell.
  20. Not that unusual if kids are settled in school etc. Don't think McGhee's did either, did they?
  21. Not really. They don't say much after most games, what are you expecting to hear this time?

    Well Bois

Yep. I've no doubt there are viewpoints on serious issues out there that many of us would sympathise with, but all political movements have the power to divide and personally I'd rather our already small support was all pulling the same direction inside Fir Park.
