Derek Johnstone (kind of) did, in the article everyone is slagging off.
"It is understood Motherwell believed they had secured 2,000 briefs for Thursday night's Ibrox showdown and were prepared to hand 4,800 to Rangers supporters. However, they were given an allocation of 950 and Johnstone insists their response is set to turn Scottish football into a laughing stock by leaving a large section of the ground empty for such a showpiece fixture."
Nah. Sadly he's pretty much done, and we parted company at the right time with him having kept his word to come back and play with us again before he retired.
My dad was speaking to somebody last week (forget if at Q&A or AGM) who said they have multiple databases some of which go back decades, so they could tell you who bought tickets for the '91 Cup Final.... trouble is they're not all linked up at the moment, and consolidating them is one of the things that Big Les is getting them to do. So I guess it depends which one(s) they check
Sounds like being a paid up Well Society member will be all the credentials you need this time anyway, though.
It's a pretty fact-free article, which doesn't help. Only way I can think they could even consider doing this is if the referee happened to see and make a note of the incident. Technically I suppose he could then be given a second red for foul and abusive language, but to get one retrospectively for something that happened before a match would certainly be a first as far as I can remember.
Suppose it's also possible St Mirren have reported him to the SFA on a disrepute charge or something, but would you face a match ban for that, and so soon?
Only positive thing to say about today is that it's now 100% in our own hands again whether we go down or not. Has been a few weeks since we've been able to say that.
To be fair, I don't really think questions will need to be asked. The new regime has made it clear that this has been a long-term problem at the club that they intend to address, and Erwin's probably the last of the guys we'll lose from having been developed the "old way". There's not a lot they can do about that now other than persuade him it's the best place to be for another couple of years, but that's a much harder sell today than it was this time last year.
I know nowt about IP.board, but is there any way to do a theme that's basically just a stylesheet that specifies different colours for everything, rather than having to put a big amber jpeg in the background? It seems to be the background images that are causing most of the performance/bugginess issues people are seeing-- the default, image-less blue theme certainly works flawlessly (and scrolls the mostly smoothly) for me.
