  1. It is, but as John Boyle and others have said over the years, you can't think of putting money into a football club as an investment at all. You're never going to get it back, you just have to hope that the number of good memories you have from the years you helped to keep the club solvent is worth it.
  2. My recollection from reports from previous Trust meetings is that they already allow every method of payment that allows the funds to go straight to the club. With other instalment-based methods, the financial regulations are such that the money could only be transferred to the Trust upon payment of the final instalment, which is obviously yet another level of bureaucracy for the club to handle that they could do without while getting the thing off the ground at all. But now that it's up and running, I'm sure they're looking into it.
  3. I doubt bringing one player back would make much of a difference, it's the entirety of what we lost that's the problem. But we could certainly use somebody like a Law or a Jennings in the midfield right now, or a Humphrey just for his pace.
  4. Fair point and I did think the same myself. On the the other hand, I suppose I'd rather he was focused 100% on Friday night than sending us emails just at the moment.
  5. Ross County fans certainly think there is, have heard more than one recently still gutted that he's gone especially as (according to them) we're not playing him to his strengths.
  6. He had the players locked in the dressing room for about 45 minutes after the final whistle yesterday before appearing for the post-match. I doubt they were having a quiet cuppa.
  7. For what? He owes us absolutely nothing. How many folk on here have never handed in their notice because they wanted to do something else instead?
  8. Highlights now up on MFC TV. Quite the Willie Irvine-esque header from Sutton...
  9. Motherwell: Nielsen, Hutchinson, McManus, McFadden, Lawson, Sutton, Vigurs, Lasley, Francis-Angol, Kerr, Moore. Subs: Stewart, Hammell, Cummins, McHugh, Carswell, Anier, Ainsworth Kilmarnock: Samson, Tesselaar, Nicholson, Clinghan, Boyd, Johnsson, Clohessy, Gardyne, O'Hara, Slater, Pascali. Subs: Reguero, Gros, McKenzie, Ibrahim, Jacobs, Winchester, Ashcroft
  10. Although I don't consider it a sport myself, I'd think horse racing would be pretty high up the list--it was the 2nd biggest spectator sport in the UK a couple of years back.
  11. Might be, but that doesn't explain the R that some folk still seem to think comes after the A...
  12. Can everybody who still calls him "Ar-nee-ay" please watch the clips of his two goals to hear how to pronounce his name properly -- it's really not a difficult one as furrin names go
  13. The biggest competition in Gaelic football already happens over the summer, culminating in the All-Ireland final in September. But what with club competitions and other tournaments, they really play almost all year round.
  14. From the telly replays it looked like Hutch took at least as much of the man as the ball. If Gary McAllister thinks it was worth a booking, it probably was
  15. Didn't see much wrong with it on the telly, though I did miss 20 mins or so... what was so bad about it this week?
  16. Slightly harsh on the crossing front, Ainsworth did put a few good balls into dangerous areas in the first half (though admittedly not always somebody in those areas, so arguably still bad crosses) and one of them led to the corner that we scored from. The quality was certainly poorer in the second half, though. Hard to argue with anything else either, I'm always amazed especially when we come up against European teams at just how inept we are in comparison at simply passing the ball to each other.
  17. Well, that and the fact it's pissing it down and it looks baltic.
  18. Last weekend the papers were reporting it as a "small tear" which meant he'd be out for "another week", but not clear whether that meant they expected him to be back this weekend. Can't see any point risking it myself.
  19. Yep. This is just the first year they've taken up their live match option, for some reason.
  20. See, I'm the opposite. I read whatever I can find about Motherwell during the week, but barely glance at the stuff about other teams. So I don't really need to be reading stuff about Motherwell on the Saturday that I already know (e.g. yet another match report of previous game), but am quite happy to read stuff about our opponents that I don't.
  21. Yeah, would've been nice to see him on for the last ten minutes at Hampden once the (meaningless anyway) game was pretty much safe. With the focus turning to the next qualifying campaign now, I can't imagine he'll get another chance.
  22. I'd imagine so, he only played the second half against Romania.
  23. Doesn't really matter that we're top I suppose, but the table certainly mattered the year it won us a European spot.
