  1. I'm sure Luc Nijholt ended up there at one point IIRC, if that's any help… EDIT: Nah, it wisnae him, but I'm sure one of our players did. They're a pretty mediocre team though, albeit by Dutch standards… usually finish bottom half of the league, have never won a major trophy, and haven't played in Europe since 2008. I'm sure it's probably a nice place to live and work, but it's certainly a bit of an unusual choice for the big man.
  2. Confirmed on the Staggies' website. Good luck to him.
  3. Could be I suppose, in which case I'm still not convinced he'd be asked (or would bother) if re-signing was already out of the question. If he was actively looking for another club he'd be better off staying at home, and if he just wanted a wee summer holiday he'd be better off taking the wife and kids somewhere
  4. Depends who's paying his way, I suppose. But even if he's doing it himself just to keep himself fit and generally lend his experience, you'd have to think he wouldn't be bothering if re-signing was totally out of the question.
  5. Sounds about right, although there aren't really any hard and fast rules anyway AFAIK, just tradition.
  6. Also happy to see Kerr back permanently. Knows the club well, has plenty to learn but plenty of time to learn it. Seems like the sort of player who usually progresses well at FP.
  7. I *hope* that's not the case, but I still wouldn't be surprised if we only sign another two players. Personally I don't consider a goalie to be a major priority, but I know others don't share that view
  8. Nae chance we'll see another five signings. Three if we're lucky, more likely two at best, I'd guess. (Though I don't include Faddy in that, if he does decide to re-sign.)
  9. Doesn't surprise me at all… guess he realised that short term gain isn't necessarily better than longer term stability after all.
  10. I'm sure he's crying all the way to the bank...
  11. McCall says Hateley and Higdon are "out the door, ex-players": http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23082470
  12. Quotes from Kenny Black don't always turn out to be terribly accurate, I have to say.
  13. Well, if they wanted to keep it really simple, the cut-off point could be "lives outside Scotland" (yes, I know there are plenty of fans in Scotland who live too far from FP to pick stuff up too, but what the heck--most of them probably still have some chance to use some of the other benefits that are no use at all to those of us overseas). But even if they just had a policy of assuming that they need to send whatever-it-is this time because it needed sending last time, until you let them know otherwise, it would be an improvement. I'd even be happy to pay an optional bit extra on my subscription to cover some or all of the postage costs. Downloads would be great for us, but probably not all that practical for the club. Hosting large downloads anywhere decent would incur additional costs of its own, and they'd have to set up out some sort of nominal protection scheme so that only 'Well Society members could download it.
  14. I don't think anyone would say that's unreasonable, but given that they know where we all live, it's a bit of a pain for those of us who aren't local to have to get in touch with them *every* time to make special arrangements for things like this.
  15. Much as I was gutted to see Lambert leave, I was more traumatised by Number 6 on the list at the time.
  16. I'm guessing it's something to do with this: http://www.wishawpress.co.uk/wishaw-news/local-wishaw-news/wishaw-news/2011/05/11/latest-score-goals-initiative-reaches-conclusion-76495-28667533/
  17. All the more reason to take our time and make sure we're bringing in people who are likely to play well together, surely? (Hence the wisdom in bringing in two guys who played together last season.) If we just had to replace one or two we could take a bit more of a punt on somebody as it wouldn't be the end of the world if they were mediocre.
  18. Not that it has any bearing on the transfer chat, but since we're talking about Hateley here at the moment: Gordon Strachan admits shock attempt to cap Motherwell star Tom Hateley.
  19. D'oh, yes, sorry -- was trying to agree with steelboy and got confused
  20. that was how it was explained at the meeting i attended in the cooper suite but if you read the rules on the club website it says you can be expelled for non payment. One of the items being voted on at the upcoming meeting is whether to delete "Rule 20 (a): A member shall cease to be a member if they fail after written demand to pay their annual subscription." That suggests to me that they can't currently chuck you out if you don't pay. EDIT: CAN chuck you out, of course, not "can't".
  21. Doesn't strike my as either, really, just a stock quote from the school of lazy journalism where "still hasn't re-signed" = "probably leaving then". EDIT: Oh, never mind, I see the bit you've underlined now that I've read your post in my browser rather than just in my email
  22. 'Flow did say on Twitter this morning that it was going to be a busy day…
  23. Rumour was that Poznan were offering add-ons as part of the deal; if Warsaw are doing the same, we may not know for quite a while exactly how much we end up bringing in for him.
