  1. "8mins: Good forward play by 'Well there. Ball from Vigurs to Craig Reid out on the flank. Back post ball just drifted out of play though." So I guess that's a yes
  2. No need to worry then. If he hates us that much, no chance he'll be joining us.
  3. Celtic fans, of course, are complaining that their Irish contingent won't be able to get back home on a Saturday night. Cry me a river.
  4. Same here. Fitba' fans can be a hypocritical bunch, it's fine for our players to wind up anyone else, but as soon as anyone does it to us they become persona non grata? It's all part of the fun, ffs
  5. Just got my Goals of the Season DVD in the post today, and to be fair it seems nicely done. Haven't had any time to do anything other than skim through it so far, but if I was to be really fussy I'd probably rather they'd spent the time putting a caption on each goal (or at least on each game) than on putting together the montage sequences at the beginning and end. I know how much time and effort it takes to put these sorts of things together at all though, though, so can't really complain
  6. No arguments from me, I wish him all the best, and it can only help to raise the profile of our own league a little bit if he does well. I'd be surprised if the smaller Dutch teams were really offering a huge amount more than the sort of Championship clubs that were supposedly interested in him, though.
  7. Aha. That could well be what I was thinking of then.
  8. I'm sure Luc Nijholt ended up there at one point IIRC, if that's any help… EDIT: Nah, it wisnae him, but I'm sure one of our players did. They're a pretty mediocre team though, albeit by Dutch standards… usually finish bottom half of the league, have never won a major trophy, and haven't played in Europe since 2008. I'm sure it's probably a nice place to live and work, but it's certainly a bit of an unusual choice for the big man.
  9. Confirmed on the Staggies' website. Good luck to him.
  10. Could be I suppose, in which case I'm still not convinced he'd be asked (or would bother) if re-signing was already out of the question. If he was actively looking for another club he'd be better off staying at home, and if he just wanted a wee summer holiday he'd be better off taking the wife and kids somewhere
  11. Depends who's paying his way, I suppose. But even if he's doing it himself just to keep himself fit and generally lend his experience, you'd have to think he wouldn't be bothering if re-signing was totally out of the question.
  12. Sounds about right, although there aren't really any hard and fast rules anyway AFAIK, just tradition.
  13. Also happy to see Kerr back permanently. Knows the club well, has plenty to learn but plenty of time to learn it. Seems like the sort of player who usually progresses well at FP.
  14. I *hope* that's not the case, but I still wouldn't be surprised if we only sign another two players. Personally I don't consider a goalie to be a major priority, but I know others don't share that view
  15. Nae chance we'll see another five signings. Three if we're lucky, more likely two at best, I'd guess. (Though I don't include Faddy in that, if he does decide to re-sign.)
  16. Doesn't surprise me at all… guess he realised that short term gain isn't necessarily better than longer term stability after all.
  17. I'm sure he's crying all the way to the bank...
  18. McCall says Hateley and Higdon are "out the door, ex-players": http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23082470
  19. Quotes from Kenny Black don't always turn out to be terribly accurate, I have to say.
  20. Well, if they wanted to keep it really simple, the cut-off point could be "lives outside Scotland" (yes, I know there are plenty of fans in Scotland who live too far from FP to pick stuff up too, but what the heck--most of them probably still have some chance to use some of the other benefits that are no use at all to those of us overseas). But even if they just had a policy of assuming that they need to send whatever-it-is this time because it needed sending last time, until you let them know otherwise, it would be an improvement. I'd even be happy to pay an optional bit extra on my subscription to cover some or all of the postage costs. Downloads would be great for us, but probably not all that practical for the club. Hosting large downloads anywhere decent would incur additional costs of its own, and they'd have to set up out some sort of nominal protection scheme so that only 'Well Society members could download it.
  21. I don't think anyone would say that's unreasonable, but given that they know where we all live, it's a bit of a pain for those of us who aren't local to have to get in touch with them *every* time to make special arrangements for things like this.
  22. Much as I was gutted to see Lambert leave, I was more traumatised by Number 6 on the list at the time.
  23. I'm guessing it's something to do with this: http://www.wishawpress.co.uk/wishaw-news/local-wishaw-news/wishaw-news/2011/05/11/latest-score-goals-initiative-reaches-conclusion-76495-28667533/
  24. All the more reason to take our time and make sure we're bringing in people who are likely to play well together, surely? (Hence the wisdom in bringing in two guys who played together last season.) If we just had to replace one or two we could take a bit more of a punt on somebody as it wouldn't be the end of the world if they were mediocre.
