Still frustrated at not taking all 3 points on Saturday when we really should have after the penalty and them being down to ten men for two thirds of the game. Felt sorry for Craigan been taking off at half time and if he wasn't injured it was a mindless decision by Gannon that ultimately cost us the game. Jennings was our best player when he came on, a lot more direct and got forward a lot unlike others. Poor defending at both goals that could have easily been prevented. Cracking goal by Murphy and it was great to see how much it meant to him. Hilarious watching that moaning faced c**t Reid falling on his arse over and over again.

I am not looking forward to this game at all after the shambles on Tuesday night. Hearts are strong defensively and will be full of confidence after Wednesday nights victory. They are team that struggle to find the net which is the only plus point for us going into the game tomorrow. Probably the first big test that Gannon has faced as manager and will be interesting to see how he approaches the contest and how much the players will have learned from the other night. We can only get better. Prediction; Motherwell 0 Hearts 1

A Place To Discuss A Sensible View Of What Happened Tonight
WellTiliDie replied to steelboy's topic in Club Chat
As you say all that fannying around at the back eventually leads to fuck all and we were lucky on Saturday not to concede from it. I think St Mirren are a decent side and will probably take points off us in every game this season. I would take Mehmet and Higdon any day of the week up front rather than the numpties we've got at our disposal. Dorman is a class act and makes the team tick. -
Dreadful performance last night. Bring Craigan back into the team and it all goes tits up, clean sheet at Celtic surviving 24 attempts at goal without him, then 6 goals conceded in two games against St Mirren. As mentioned in another thread we have only played well for a half against Steaua, game against Flamutari, Killie game and 2nd half at St Johnstone. It seems to be in a lot of our games that we have defended extremely well but it is when we're going forward we are lacking movement, creativity and a cutting edge. Crying out for Slane coming back into the first team to give us some much needed spark. Two decent chances last night from O'Brien in the first half then the Dukes sitter when we were one down, terrible miss don't know what he was trying. Hateley put in 2 or 3 good deliveries from set pieces in the 2nd half that somebody should of really been getting on the end of. Well done to St Mirren and Gus McPherson for playing us off the park again and they are unlucky not to have won both matches.

------------------------Ruddy-------------------- Moutaoukil-----Saunders----------Reynolds----------Hammell ------------------------Hateley--------------------------- Humphrey---------------Forbes---------------------O'Brien --------------------Murphy--------Jutkiewicz------------------ Ruddy to punt the ball up the park from goal kicks tonight as we nearly got caught out 3 or 4 times on Saturday with St Mirren pressing so much up the park. Got to win more balls in the air against Higdon and Mehmet with somebody following Andy Dorman when he is looking for the knock on. If we can defend well we should win. Can see it going all the way though.

At the time of it i thought the tackle was made outside the box but that clearly shows it was inside. Pictures are inconclusive though showing whether he got the ball or not. That prick of a ball boy will be getting pelters on tuesday night if he's there again, the wee c**t was mouthing off to the fans at the end of the game as well.

Aye left at half 12 thinking that would be plenty of time but didn't get to Paisley till 2.45. We were crawling from before the Glasgow Fort to until we got by the Kingston Bridge. Was wishing we went via East Kilbride.
-
Got to be Jutkiewicz for the two goals. I thought Murphy did a lot better in the second half as well.

Excellent result today considering how badly we played in the first half and coming back from 3-1 down. We were terrible in the first half and if you had said at half time we would of scored three you must of been on something. As for all 3 goals we were pretty lucky; never a penalty(or a free kick), think Reynolds handled it on the build up to the 2nd goal and it should of been a goal kick instead of a corner for the third. Anyway am no goin to complain we played far better when they scored their third and looked like the team that could have went on to win apart from the golden chance they had near the end. As for the traffic that was fucking murder took over two hours going from Carluke . Hopefully we can improve going into Tuesday nights game and take the performance from the last 15 minutes from today on to the park at the start of the game.

It would be good if we could win by 2 or 3. We've performed really well defensively this season apart from the Hibs and St Johnstone games but i still don't think we have been anywhere near top gear going forward. Hopefully it will all click tomorrow and we will get the 3 points. 'Mon the Well!!!!!!!!!

Right i've not seen any actual threads for the game on Saturday so i thought i would start one. Very important game where defeat could see us slip into the Bottom 6 whereas a win would enhance our European aspirations and continue our impressive start to the season. I would go with the same line up as the weekend at Celtic. Maybe bring O'Brien back in if he is fit. I am going to sit on the fence with this one and go for a 0-0 draw. Thoughts folks.

Happy to come away from Parkhead with a point yesterday, didn't expect to get anything from them but we were fairly comfortable in the end. Looking ahead to our next three matches we have got a real chance of winning them all and give our Europa League hopes a great boost.

I am going to try and head to Fir Park to get my tickets tomorrow. One of my favourite away games, love winding up they c***s and seeing that fat prick in the Celtic end getting chucked out cause he canny take it. As for the game we will really need to up our standards or we will get humped. I reckon McGeady will terrorise Yassin so that could be a problem. If Slane is back i would start with him.
-
It's a no brainer for Slane. Surely spending another 2 or 3 years here playing for the first team will benefit him far more than playing for the Under 19s for them. Was watching the Bayern v Juventus game the other night and thought he was quite a similar player to Ribery. Hopefully we can keep a hold of him and see the best of him because what he showed in European games proved that he has got the potential to be a cracking player for the 'Well.
-
O'Brien is better than Humphrey. Fair enough Humphrey has only had a couple of games, if that, but he doesn't seem to have an end product when it comes to crossing or shooting (2 decent chances against Flamutari). Fully agree with you about Slane he is a star in the making. Who has been more consistent than O'Brien then?
-
Created all three goals against Killie, won the penalty against Dundee United last week and i would say all in all he has been the most consistent in the team this season.
-
--------------------Ruddy----------------- Moutaoukil----Craigan----Reynolds-----Hammell -------------------Hateley-------------------- Humphrey------Coke--------Jennings-----O'Brien ---------------------Sutton------------------- Fuck knows how it will go on Saturday hopefully we will get back to winning ways though.
-
Porter was scoring nearly a goal every other game for Oldham before he came up North. Jutkiewicz with a record of 1 goal per ten games. He is murder and is the one signing that Gannon has got wrong so far. Please prove me wrong Lukas.
-
It's them that are doing fuck all at the moment. O'Brien has been far and away the best player in the team this season and looks like he is the only player of taking the ball forwards and causing the opposition problems. As for Slane he is a cracking young player and will make a huge difference going forward when he is back from injury.
-
Prefer the original one. Both looking good though.
-
Aww Naw. Hopefully no a repeat of the Scottish Cup replay!

2.30pm today. Saw someone mention it earlier in the thread.

From what i heard about their defeat at Hamilton their defence was slow as fuck and i would of expected Gannon to have picked up on that having been at New Douglas Park. I doubt he will start with Humphrey but i would expect O'Brien to be having a go at their back four quite a lot. Hopefully Slane will be on the bench as well. Don't know who i would start up front, i would of went way the Polish boy after the game at Dundee but he was pish the other night. If we can defend like we did in the 3 games prior to Tuesday night i reckon we will win 3-0. Forbes, Sutton and O'Brien with the goals.
-
The goals are on the bbc website. Not sure how to put up a link though.
-
Disappointed with the performance last night i thought we lacked urgency until they scored the second. Moutaoukil, Hammell, Forbes and O'Brien played reasonably well last night and i think if we'd kept O'Brien on for another ten minutes we would have scored before extra time as he looked like the only player that was interested. Forbers was unlucky not to get a hat trick in the last five minutes with three excellent attempts, what a left foot he's got. Anyway we're through so wouldn't mind either of the Old Firm at home in next round as the players should be up for it but i fear we could get caught cold again if we play a lesser team.
