Motherwell V Partick Thistle Sat 26 Sep 15:00
Spiderpig replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
If they play out their skins as you put it and we win convincingly then nobody will care. If true then It's not the 1st time that players have got a manager sacked and it certainly won't be the last. But if we are sitting comfortably in the top half of the league come May then nobody will care how IB was treated. -
What concerns me a bit about that article is that it seems like mccafferty and Co on the interview panel seemed to be swayed by all of the community club stuff spouted by IB and never thought to look at his record in being able to put a winning team on the park. Hope this changes for the next appointment.
-
FFS He's not even had a game in temporary charge yet and he is getting slated..I feckin despair at some of the comments on here. Honestly we could announce Klopp Mourinho or Guardiola as our new manager and we would still get the feckin negative dross.
-
If Taylor was any good he would be playing regularly for Reading at a decent level, but the reality is he is pish and has been papped out to any club who would take him on loan presumably till his contract ends then they will bin him.
-
Aye right IB managed a league winning side and look how that turned out. How good is is the Finnish league probably on a par with the Irish one, no idea where MVG is so don't know what success he had. We need somebody who has SPL experience,we tried the bold appointment last time with IB we can't afford to make the same mistake now
-
Can't understand this obsession among some supporters to get ex players like MVG who was average at best, valakari again average at best in as the next manager. Both of them like Barraclough have had very little if any success as a manager so it did not work with IB why would the other 2 be any different?

To be fair Craigan might be a good choice, decent coach by all accounts, probably well liked in the dressing room, knows the Scottish game, can handle the media.
-
As much as I don't want a pensioner in charge ie McLean, brown, knox, Calderwood etc what we need right now is somebody that knows the Scottish game to come in and do the kind of job brown done when he came in.ie steadying the ship, stop us losing soft goals and get the teams confidence up. Problem is most of that type of Scottish manager already have jobs and are we tempting enough as a club to lure somebody away from the job they have? Is Owen coyle still looking for a job?

I dont care what people wear to the footie that's their choice, all I am trying to Point out is you can be as passionate as you like supporting the team without attracting the attention of the stewards the vast majority of fans do, however it is always the minority few who insist on acting like disks and are determined to cause a problem. I have no idea what started it all off on Tues night and yes some of the stewards who pull on a high viz jacket turn into arseholes but that's even more reason not to give them any excuse.
-
Go to the football, support your team, behave in a responsible and acceptable manner, enjoy when we win, moan on this forum when we don't, so no police or stewards involved..simples
-
A path to the dark side Larrson is..so naw
-
What's with this obsession among our support to bring in feckin pensioners who have had no involvement in football in at leat 25 years ie McLean. Brown, Calderwood etc aye they will sort us out
-
+1 from me as well, we need somebody who won't take any shite from the overpaid Billy big boots players and tell them to start doing what they are well paid for to give their best for the team and start playing or start looking for a new gig.
-
Surprised the board were so decisive..but it had to be done. Look forward to the job being linked with every out of work manager now.

New phone...dodgy predictive text, that said we would be better off if wee Fergus was running the club ☺

After the dross we had to suffer last season under McCann the club had to change IB was brought in, signed a few players and we eventually got it right in the play offs against Rangers. At that point I was optimistic of a good season ahead, the club was being restructured, we had new financial investment to bring in players and the squad seemed to be improving. Now however 8 games in to the season, out of the league cup to a lower league team and looking like we are heading for another relegation fight that optimism has faded fast. It's looking like the decision to appoint IB was ill advised he looks out of his depth he has been given money to spend but he has not used it wisely. There are also ongoing questions and doubts over the Well society and the exact nature of the deal with Les Hutchison. So it begs the question are the people running the club up to the job as well, they are the ones who ultimately sanction the cash for IB to sign players ? We seem to now have a squad of players in which a large number are taking wages and contributing nothing, Taylor, Clarkson, Robinson, etc. I would like to see the club reducing the squad, quality not quantity, getting a manager in to motivate and get the best from the team and develop our own talent, that's the way forward. But at this point I have doubts that the people running the club are up to it we are off track and it needs corrected asap. Thoughts and opinions please.
-
Stop talking shite .IB has been given money to spend, brought in a lot of players of dubious ability, Taylor, Robinson, Johnson etc, bizarre team selections, players out of position..I could go on. It's obvious he is not up to it, talks a good job but nothing else, time for him to go.
-
They were feckin great results considering we had not beaten that mob in over 13 years, so to give them a pumping over 2 legs and stay in the top division is up there with some of the great Motherwell wins i have witnessed over the years, it was a very good end to an otherwise shit season.
-
Another feckin depressing saturday night in prospect..we get beaten by Accies again and i am night shift.

Since Randolph left the keepers we have had at Fir Park have taken lack of abillity and pishness to new levels. Hollis, Nielsen, Twardzik in that order 1st being the worst. We saw a glimmer of hope with Long last season and again this term with Ripley but no long term solution so i think signing Samson may be a shrewd move by IB an experienced keeper who might bring some stabillity to a position we have struggled with since Randolph left. Admitedley he is not the best but on our budget we were never going to sign a Neuer or a Casillas were we
-
I actually think signing Samson is not a bad bit of business,Ripley probably won't be here past January,Twardzik is not good enough and needs punted, so that leaves Long as our only option ? So we have signed an experienced keeper who may end up as 1st choice 2nd half of the season I don't have an issue with that.

Moult for me never stopped trying and popped up where it mattered to get us level, great game. I think Grimshaw deserves a mention only on 5 mins but he looks like he can play, would like to have seen him from the start. Special extreme pish award mentions for Skippy, McManus and Law.
-
I am reluctant to criticise a player before giving him time to settle, get used to new team mates, styles of play etc but in Taylor's case i will, he was feckin woeful for 90 mins, anonymous and contributed feck all although that description could apply to any of our so called midfield who started the game. He offers nothing no decent tackles, his passing and distribution is non existant and he always seems to be out of position, no fight no desire, no wonder he was papped out on loan by Reading. I hope that when Pearson is fit Taylor will be warming the subs bench or better still get him back to Reading as he is offering the team nothing.

To be fair 45 secs would have covered the "highlights" the game was dire, but I take your point unless you are playing either of the ugly sisters you don't get a look in. Stick to you tube the coverage of our games on there is decent
