  1. I arrived at Fir Park club on Saturday just after 1pm during heavy rain and was told that there was a pitch inspection in progress !!! dont know if it was true but the state of the grass seems to indicate it might have been. With Hindsight after sufferring 90 mins of that pish, calling the game off might have been a bonus
  2. Sometimes it takes one club to make the first move and ask the questions and the others will hopefully follow. I am sure most fans would back a long term solution over a short term fix.
  3. There is the root cause of a lot of scottish footballs problems in that one sentence. The fans are sick of paying high tickets prices just to help some below average twenty something drive about in a fancy car and act like Billy big boots. Footbal needs to get back to reallity, John Boyle has taken the club some way down that road, but more is required. 1.Get back to a sensible sustainable wage structure, and make sure the club can trade within its means. 2. Use the TV money the way it was intended as a bonus and extra income. 3. This will mean that ticket costs will be reduced, so more fans at games. 4. More fans = more revenue for the club etc. We are at the stage now where crap players are expecting 6 figure salaries each year for very little in return, this problem needs to be faced up to, so why not Motherwell to be the 1st club to take the tough choices. We may suffer short term but long term we will be the stronger for it.
  4. + 1 with that, he has been a great player for Motherwell over the past few seasons, should have had a game for Scotland long ago, but overlooked by that fud Levein. He deserves to be playing at a higher level, all the best to him
  5. Agree with this, a good victory for the Well, 2-0 is my prediction (sutton and Murphy)
  6. Agree with that, he downed tools as soon as Brown went, so good riddence to him. We need to be signing players on permanent deals, who will contribute to the club long term, not Fud's who are only trying to up their wage packets with their own clubs.
  7. Why worry about Aberdeen its blatantly obvious that Stuart Milne is throwing money at the team to avoid relegation, and it will probably work. But you can't keep that up, so next year when all the loan and short term deals are gone they will be deeper in debt but still a mid table average team.
  8. If that's the case it worries me that Motherwell are that financially strapped that we can't compete with lower division clubs. What chance do we have of attracting players to Fir Park
  9. Radio Clyde news were reporting that he had left the club after rejecting a new contract and he would not be back at Fir park. Quote from official site “We’ve offered Mark a deal and we hope to hear back from him in the next 24-hours or so,” said McCall. “He does have an offer from another club on the table though so it’s something he will have to consider carefully and we are respectful of that.”
  10. He gets a chance every week at training, reserve games, bounce games etc to prove his abillity, so if he was any good he would have been given his chance, its time for him to be moved on.
  11. Harsh but fair But his failure to break into the team at a time when we were crying out for a goal scorer says it all, he is a dud. He has obviously given no indication in training or reserve matches which i assume he has been playing that he could be any better than, Blackman, Murphy, etc I think we were conned on this one, exotic name therefore he must be good, so get him out the door and free up some cash.
  12. A complete waste of space ,
  13. If he had any potential then he would have been playing, he is a useless who we have been wasting money on since the start of the season. Tell him to GTF and free up some cash to spend on players who will actually contribute something to the club. Brown and Knox were stiched up big time when they signed this fud.
  14. Sad news, so soon after the anniversary of Phil's death, condolences to all the family.
  15. Agree with that prediction, McCall will have the team playing again, so hopefully an unchanged side from sunday, my money is on Murphy for the 1st goal
  16. I guess the baw heaters were broken, there will be an enquiry now
  17. The way Motherwells luck goes in cup draws it will be Rangers, then it will be 3 games out of 4 against them 30th Jan, 5th Feb and 12th Feb.
  18. Chris Porter, Ross McCormack or David Clarkson, i would have any of them back in a minute
  19. On the subject of dodgy haircuts, Stuart mcCalls has not changed in the last 20 years
  20. Thanks, he sounds a bit of an Arse
  21. Excuse my ignorance but who is Scott Burns and what does he do ??
  22. He was an arse who lost the dressing room, its ancient history 3 managers ago FFS, get over it and get behind McCall and the team, they have a season to save. mon the well
  23. Casagolda was another Brown investment that we have had feck all return on, its time we chased him as well and freed up the wages to use on a player that actually contributes something to the club .
  24. Thats the problem the clubs are far too dependent on the income from those games and dont want to lose it. Most if not all SPL clubs if they were ordinary businesses would have closed down years ago as they are not financially viable. They are paying way too much of their annual turnover on players wages, at some clubs it 85% to 90% of their annual income !!! All the TV money has done is fund ridiculous wages for average players, so its no surprise that clubs want as much cash as they can get. The situation is too far gone to change, you cant just cut wages overnight, you would have no players left. There needs to be wage caps put in place and clubs forced to gradually reduce their expenditure till they are financially stable and able to live within their means, ie financing all expenditure from ticket sales, merchandise, hospitallity and catering, advertising etc. Any TV money would then be a bonus which could be used to lower ticket prices, attract more fans which in the long run would earn you more money. Simples
  25. Totally agree he wont be missed, just off to the bookies for the odds on Blackman as first goal scorer when we go to Pitoddrie on 15th Feb
