  1. Is there a point to this topic ?
  2. It makes no difference who the ref is they are all dodgy, if the well play as we know they can we will pump hibs as they are Sh*t. This nonsense with refs has been going on for years, its only getting lots of press now as nobody at the SFA has the balls to stand up to the conspiracy theorists at Parkhead and tell them to Feck off You can pick any team you like and if you go back far enough you will find that for every decision they think has gone against them, there will be one that they have got away with. Fans have been arguing about referee's decisions since football started, every country, every league. The only reason we seem to be obsessed with it is that Celtic have been carrying a huge chip on their shoulder since 1888 trying to convince anybody who will listen that the establishment is against them, and the media seem to like it. So never mind who the ref is support the team and we will get the result, we are better than them.
  3. Could'nt agree more the whole Casual thing was bullshit a load of guys using football as an excuse to fight and behave like a**e holes. Now we look back and it is viewed as some sort of "right of passage", for your average foottie fan. What it done in reality was that every ground or town you went to in those days you were herded about like cattle by the police. you could not get into any pubs etc. Does anybody really thing that that was a good thing? Fair play to the Guy who wrote the book, but these kind of books are always based on the Authors and other contributors recollections of the time, and these are always exagerated and "sexed Up" to fit the story and should be viewed accordingly.
  4. Our home form needs to improve if we are going to keep a grip on 3rd. Murphy coming back is a big bonus and Gow Blackman and Humphrey all look to be in good form just now, so i think it will be a good win for us.
  5. Totally agree that the referee did not lose us the match, but his totally inept display was a big factor. 1. Canning should have been Red Carded for bringing down Blackman, so after Hatley fucked up the pen we should have had an advantage. 2. Constant time wasting, diving, and blatant cheating by Hamilton was not dealt with, the sight of the hamilton player on the ground rolling in agony in the second half then peeking through open hands over his face to see if he had a free kick was embarassing. 3. The referee with a good view missing Imries, deliberate handball to keep Gow's header out. 4. Hamilton players kicking the ball away at every oportunity when play stopped, straight booking every time, but again no action from Thompson. It the ref had done his job properly then hamilton could quite easily have had at least 2 if not 3 men sent off. And as shit as we were i would have fancied us to get a result against those odds.
  6. Before the game is the only time you seem to be able to get a pie these days, Kiosk in main stand ran out of hot water FFS !! so no Bovril. In house catering seems to be run by a bunch of amateurs
  7. Never mind the Bad referee and Hatley's shit penalty we got the tactics wrong from the start, Why was Forbes on the pitch for 90 mins, he contributed nothing ? We would have been far more effective with Gow, Jennings and Humphrey in the middle with sutton in front of them and Blackman and McHugh up front a sort of 4-3-1-2 formation. Everybody in the ground could see Forbes was worse than a man short so why did Broonie and Knox not see it. Every time the ball went forward nothing stuck, Sutton is as slow as a week in the jail but he wins the ball in the air, and that's what we were missing.
  8. Agree 100% it's about time we pumped this mob, bring it on
  9. No surprise there then, the whole world knew on Wednesday night what the draw would be, "the old firm kept apart" again, you could'nt make it up, there are dark forces at work here
  10. very sad news, i am old enough to remember him playing he is a true well legend
  11. 5th Feb 2011 is Scottish cup R5, and 12th march 2011 is Scottish Cup R6, 26th March will probably be the CIS cup final, which hopefully we will be in.

Dont know what instructions the East stand stewards had on Tuesday night but i saw them confiscating the beach ball FFS !!! Since the club outsourced the stewarding we seem to have nothing but Jobsworth fuds on duty. I have E-mailed fir Park about them, particularly after the Celtic league game, but i am still waiting for a reply . Maybe we should be raising a complaint to the supporters trust and let them raise it with the club
  13. If Jennings is out along with Lasley we will be a bit light in midfield, but i still think we will be strong enough to beat Accies, our recent record against them is good especially at Fir park. If Murphy is out it might be the time to give mcHugh ar start as he has a bit more pace up front than Sutton. The midfield could then be Humphrey, Hatley, and Gow, with Sutton playing in front of them, for an unconventional 4-3-1-2 formation
  14. No i thinks its Rangers turn, we had Celtic in the 2006 Semi
  15. We all know what the draw will be anyway its the " keep the old firm apart routine " so i predict we will get Rangers.
  16. Dundee untd were very poor over the 2 games, nowhere near the side they were last year, and as for goodwillie he is a whinging little W**K who you would not get tired slapping
  17. We missed Murphy's pace up front when he went off, Sutton is ok in the Air but he is as slow as a week in the jail so hope he recovers quickly. On the same note we are missing Lasley in midfield as well, so i hope he gets fit quickly
  18. I believe that i was the guy you are referring to, Houston deserved all he got, it says a lot about the state of our national team when all the assistant coach has to offer is kick the ball as hard as you can up the park and everybody chase it, him and levein are a pair of Fuds
  19. Taking at least 50% or more of the points on offer for each of the 3 sets of 11 games will put you in with a decent shout for a European place, 3 games to go in this round and i am expecting a minimum of 7 point from 9. That would give us 20 points so repeating that form each set of 11 and its the Europa league again
  20. If its true then i think its a great move for Motherwell, nice new Oval stadium no big empty corners please, a proper footie venue. The ravenscraig Arena !!
  21. Been looking at various posts on this thread and i have never heard so much sh*** in my life. I am all for having a good atmoshpere at games and supporting the team win or lose, but do these immature wee arseholes really think that setting off flares and smoke bombs makes the atmoshpere any better ? All it does is get the stewards and police on your case and means that every where we go after that we will be treated like shit. We are Motherwell a provincial club in Scotland with an average gate of under 5,000 its not Galatasary, Panathinaikos, AC Milan, etc etc so 10 or 20 people with a flare just looks ridiculous. Get behind the team sing, shout, wave your flags etc but feck off with the flares etc and respect the right of the vast majority of the well fans who dont agree with them.
  22. What the team is crying out for is a strong midfield player, time after time Celtic just ran through our midfield yesterday. Jennings, Hatley and lasley are all defensive mid, we need to get someone in who can win the ball and get forward to create chances for the forwards.
  23. I cant believe how many people seem to think that standing at games is a good idea. I am old enough to remember some of the Sh**e holes i used to go to to see motherwell, some of the grounds were downright dangerous. Does anyone really want to go back to those conditions ? If Hillsborough had never happened then we would still be turning up to Fir Park to stand on the Red ash terracing, old railway sleepers holding it up, brick enclosures with no roof as a toilet, etc but still paying todays prices. Lets be honest about the atmosphere at Fir Park, its no different to any other ground in Scotland or England for that matter, listen to the crowds at Old Trafford , Stamford bridge, Anfield, or Ibrox or parkhead and the vast majority of the time its all very subdued. The large crowds only make it sound a lot better. Scottish football fans don't have a great tradition of creating hostile environments at matches ( we used to specialise in creating hostile atmospheres out side grounds ) on the scale of the Greek, Italian or Turkish clubs fans. So trying to suggest that everyone standing and singing etc to create a better atmosphere would have helped the team last night is nonsense. We were beaten because we are lightweight up front and dont take chances.
