  1. The club website says that 2 areas of the pitch in paticular, both in front of the East stand were the problem, so the rumour may have some truth in it.
  2. Heard an unconfirmed rumour from a club employee on Wedndsday that Hutchison was off to Sheff untd for a fee and we were getting Murphy on loan. But just saw he has scored against Aston Villa in FA cup today so i doubt that will happen as he seems to be a regular starter
  3. I am not trying to apportion blame i am sure the groundstaff did the best they could to get the game but as you say sometimes it makes no difference. The main point however is valid ie did the pitch works a sort out the drainage issues as Fir park still seems to get more Call offs than other grounds. Time will tell but if they are having to work hard to get games on then there may still be a problem
  4. This is Scotland thats all it does is feckin rain..the point i am making is that only a handful of games scheduled for today at all levels will be called off, and very few if any of those will be top flight games. As for it raining for a week, the pitch looked fine on Wednesday, so 2 days of rain and its now unplayable how can that be acceptable.
  5. Just checked on BBC England has a full league and FA cup programme today and only 7 games called of, 3 of which are in the conference. Only 1 call off in Scotland at Fir park !!! http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/25586728
  6. Yes games will be called off under extreme conditions, but a bad as this rain is it is hardly monsoon material. The club has spent a fortune on the pitch and the 1st prolonged spell of shit weather and the pitch is unplayable!!! If it cant cope witb this have the old issues been fixed and if not why not ?
  7. Have to agree with that..i bet we will be the only game off today, the rain is not that heavy and no doubt if the game had been scheduled for a sensible time then it would be on. Now it will be rearranged for a midweek date, less crowd, less revenue etc. Given the money that has been spent on that pitch, it should be able to handle some heavy rain ffs, every other top flight ground seems to cope. This gives the other teams around us a chance to make up some ground, points on the board are always better than games in hand. We have pitch covers why were they not used.
  8. Vigurs for me, thought he put in a great shift today, he took his goal well
  9. Thats my thoughts as well, given that Nielsen is on a 2 year deal and Hollis is a year into his 2 year extension, it would seem logical that we would need to move one of them on if SMC wanted to make the Twardzik loan permanent, and from what i have seen of him he looks a decent keeper. The problem with moving any of the 2 keepers on is would anybody want to buy them ? as i assume a fee would be wanted unless there is a mutual agreement to release the contract. So even if we managed to get Twardzik on a free transfer (assuming SMC is interested in signing him) can we afford to be paying 3 keepers, if Hollis or Nielsen dont go.
  10. No feckin excuse..its a fuck up by MFC every one who entered should know who won..how difficult can it be to put a few words on a web site its been over a week ffs
  11. Agree with that, Twardzik had at least 3 great saves today, the one when we were a goal down was a belter. He looks a lot better than Hollis or Nielsen how long can we keep him .
  12. Carswell for me, shaky start but he was brilliant at Right back after that..never missed a tackle..throwing himself to block etc belter of a shift today..a mention for Faddy as well, hopefully todays performance will spur him on to perform like we know he can
  13. We are in a good wee run just now, and it will continue on Sunday. Thistle are 3rd bottom and 19 points behind us for a reason..ie they are not very good, so a 2-0 win for the good guys.
  14. I thought the draw was after the St Mirren game as well, dont know if it has been drawn, nothing on the MFC website
  15. Yeeeeeeessssss an Absolute belter of a result..and all the other results went for us...2nd with a -2 goal difference, but who gives a feck..siwy
  16. Its the "demand for terracing " with regard to Motherwell thats the problem here. Whatever style of standing areas / adaptable seating etc is adopted would cost significant cash to implement, so assuming that there is no diffrence in the ticket price for a seat or standing, would the club recoup that investment ? At Fir park the only guys i see standing are the bois in the east stand, and they do a fine job but their numbers are limited. Its a different consideration for a top EPL or european club with potentially 10,s of thousands of fans wanting to stand..where the extra investment might pay for itself, than for a club like ours where the demand might only be in the 100's. Given the current financial constraints that most SPL clubs operate under i dont think that any extra financial outlay with no guarentee of a return would be a gamble they would take.
  17. Spiderpig

    St Mirren

Anier for me 2 well taken goals, good movement and link up play.
  18. I thought the opposite..Hammell was left exposed all the time when Vigurs was not covering left mid as he should have been.He had a decent game, but needs to stay in position and help out the fullback more often. Ainsworth was tracking back, not all the time i admit but he was doing it and more often than not he was available for Ramsden as the out ball. But all that said i thought the whole team played well it was 3 going on 5,best i have seen all season
  19. I am old enough to remember and that pretty much sums it up for me..standing terraces have had their day, not many people would pay £20 to stand at the cinema, so why do it at football. As for creating atmosphere nah..bezzer is right if we suddenly start attracting large crowds to fir park maybe, but on our average crowd i dont think so
  20. Apparently supporters groups from more than 50% of all EPL clubs want safe standing areas to be introduced and tried out at their grounds, looks to be based on the German model. Given the style of the areas, new rail type seats that can be used if required and the cost of ripping out existing seating to install the new adaptable type, i doubt very much if the idea will go down well with many club chairmen / owners. Is this something that we would want to try at Fir park, views and comments please. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/25136422
  21. Ticket bought..just need to find another 19 mates now in case i win
  22. Dont talk shite..we are 4 points off 2nd (ok ICT have played a game less) and 1 behind the sheep and untd so as bad as we have been at times this season we are right in the mix for the European places. We have a run of winnable games coming up over christmas, so we are well placed.
  23. I see the police are hoping to start arresting some of the GB mob, nice wee christmas in jail for them would be nice, but all they will get is a slap on the wrist and 50p a week deducted from their giro's to pay the fine. I also see their wee ginger runt of a manager is still describing them as " the greatest fans in the world, bar none" what a wanker that man is. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25314595
  24. That is a shocking amount of damage..i cant believe those feckjn scum got away with that..strathclydes finest and tbe stewards should be feckin ashamed at doing nothing
  25. Fuck them nothing but scum...a disgrace to scotland..they get away with the same shite week in week out and the police, sfa, celtic fc, etc do fuck all.its time all those GB morons were dealt with. The genuine celtic fans need to start complaining about them, maybe then something will get done
