  1. It must be difficult for a player to go out on loan so often from his parent club. Especially when the manager of of that club apparently has said at the beginning of the season he has no need of him. In my opinion that has probably been the case prior to this season. Think about it if you were passed to one employer after another with new bosses and workmates not knowing how long you were there for it might be easy not to give 100 per cent. I prefer to believe that now he is fit AND has been given the encouragement of McCall and other staff/players to provide the incentive to perform as he can.
  2. For " Development as a player " read wants to be a midfield supremo.
  3. One trialist ? first half number 7, another second half number 17. Presumably the two names mentioned earlier. Can anyone say which one was which?.
  4. It better be Morecambe not Doncaster or I will have long wait at the roadside.
  5. Thanks Weeyin Google directions look like a mix of mostly walk way and streets when you get closer to the stadium. MorecambeFC website gives different direction thro town but there is only a couple of minutes in it either way.
  6. Have a map of the route, difficult to guess time taken. A beer before the game would be nice but that beer time means the difference of leaving home at 6.30am and 8.45am. Time for a beer after the match.
  7. Earlier posters obviously know Morecambe well, can one of you advise the time the walk from train station to Globe Arena takes?. Can then decide which train to take.
  8. Any seats available on your minibus?.
  9. A good sign of Pressley's footballing intelligence when he gets rid of Jennings whilst retaining Fleck. Also were we not quoted to chase Cody Mcdonald a couple of seasons ago?.
  10. Football is no different to other life experiences. We all as individuals be it as supporters or managers see different qualities in others. The names in your second para would seem to suggest "qualities" is not the correct use of that word. As an example Kerkar played in the trial that Broon set up and I personally thought he was one of the better if not best player that night and had promise.
  11. I am maybe preaching to the converted but we have to realise that all signings are a gamble. Yes even Faddy back in mid season though less so, not match fit, and recent injury history. Yes it came off without him reaching his peak. Imho the success we had was more to do with the "lift" he brought to all about the club. For instance is it a gamble for Higdon to repeat his goalscoring feat wherever he plays next season?.
  12. Afraid I will show my age by admiting to being in the schoolboys enclosure that memorable day.
  13. Not half as funny as Ferguson and Dodds thinking they recognised a footballer. On second thoughts even just "thinking"
  14. Was intending go to game and stay overnite. Not now. Is it too late to have this published in Daily Rancid tomorrow. Have MFC intimated their displeasure to Utd. at this latest act of idiocy.
  15. Bit slow but I got there eventually. Might have to change name to village idiot
  16. Which Travel Lodge? Being Quoted £70 & £74 for Aberdeen Centre ones.

Had to be Murphy, showed the talents we know he has although he doesn't do it in enough matches. Big difference for me is that yesterday as well as in the St. Johnstone game he wasn,t stuck out on the left touch line where his options are limited ie pass back to Hammell or go diagonally back to make room to go forward by which time opponents can have 11 men behind the ball.

Despite the Higdon hat trick, and some tremendous saves from Randy, I have to give it to Kerr. For a 19yo an exceptional all round performance. He has to remain at RB. Only downside is Hately for me proved once again he is not a midfeld player.
  19. Don't know about that. If he signs for a certain Third Div Sevco lot and is injured he has every chance of being selected.
  20. Kerr is 19/20 is he not. On another thread we have the pro/cons of playing Cummins after only 2 competetive games now we are suggesting he Kerr plays after 10/15minutes against Everton. Fail to see the logic.

Tin hat on, here goes. This discussion of who was in charge if/when our youth system "failed" is academic. Just how many have come through in say the last 15 years. McFadden. Clarkson, Murphy ?. This I believe is the case across Scotland and possibly England too. I also believe there are many reasons for this situation. Number one is the raw talent again for varied rasons is not available. I watch my grandson train with an u12 team consisting of work that it is almost a repetition of the warm up we see prior to Saturday match games. No ball work. The coaches spend a lot of their free time with the kids but have to ask how qualified are they. Is this type of coaching common across the board?. Is this the type of coaching applied at SFA camps?. I can remember when all teams could take young players from the "Juniors" and turn them into decent and often successfull Seniors. Nowadays Junior teams consist mainly of overage failed seniors or those who will never make it. Anyone who watched the Wishaw game will know what I mean.
  22. Take your point however to me they have signed very physical players ie Tokely. I know we should have enough skill to see a victory but we don't have a good record against teams who are prepared to play that way. I wonder too how much Tuesday and not getting injured will come into it.
  23. Apologies if this should be posted in Travel but it doesn't look as if there has been any postings on there for months!. Can any of our northern based posters recommend a reasonably priced b&b,guest house, other in the Dingwall preferably or Inverness for the night of Sat 4th. Aug 2012. My online enquiries are either expensive, unavailable, or minimum 2 nights. Travel from South Scotland by bus or train not yet finalised would expect to arrive Inverness around noon. Conon Bridge is a possability for stay but not happy with another stop between Dingwall and Inverness.
  24. On another aside note. Law took most of the corners in the Everton game with Hately staying back.
  25. Seen quoted here that Lotto is Equivalent to £4 or so a month but am i right in saying monthly dd is not an available option. Having bought CL tickets, signed up to MFCTV, and intending to purchase season tickets in the next few days another £50+ just now is out of the question. Can the club be influenced to change this.
