As other people have said - where are the Well society going to find other money from? Unless there are cash reserves somewhere. I know it's possible that they could ask for extra donations from members. My whole issue with fan ownership is that there simply aren't enough members to make it work. No more than that - and I'm a member.

Maybe, but why should it have taken until now for the Society to up its game? Why wasn't the Society actively examining and proposing meaningful ways to increase the membership and raise further inward investment? Why has it taken until now for the Society to confirm that 3800 members don't correlate with 3800 active monthly direct debits? Has the Society been in cruise control for many years, resting on its laurels until it felt a threat from the Club? Both the Society and Club are within their rights to propose anything concerning ownership and inward investment, and perhaps it's just that the latter got its finger out first. I am a monthly paying Society member and have been for a long time, but there are so many other unanswered questions and points of speculation to be had from both sides, which has me questioning what's going on behind the scenes. This whole thread is becoming a tit-for-tat nonsense. Keep it up, everyone.

100% correct why should fans have faith in promises made that could have been delivered over the last 5 or 6 years. I am not convinced by the American interest either but ill wait until I see actual facts rather than what someone down the pub thinks.

Shit season. Biereth going was a kick in the baws. If he had stayed we would have made top 6. But great Bair done so well. And Gent and Vale. If we keep all 3 plus miller it looks like next season will be better. Prefer we don't re sign Kelly and get commanding goalie. Not bothered about losing Spittal too. Think he won't replicate that form and jambos don't give much time. I think Danda will be Thier main creative player.

Lennon Miller wont be with us next season, firstly we cant afford to let his contract run down to the end of 2025. Hes not going to sign another extension. I get the impression the one he did sign was similar to Turnbull to ensure we got some money for our investment. Id expect the club to cash in in the summer.

I think Bevis can be very hit and miss. When he's on form he's great. I think SOD and Kelly will go. I thought Kelly was v decent today

He was but if he is , as reported the highest earner at the club , he can be replaced with less financial outlay for the same kind of return . Not a patch on the keeper he was two seasons ago..

  5. We were utter shite start to finish. Hibs deserved to win. That said they get a small amount of credit for fighting spirit. However for the umpteenth time this season that displays shows why a big clear out in the summer is required. That squad will always shoot ourselves in the foot.  The point Dundee got makes Oli Shaws miss utterly irrelevant so no point dwelling on it, just get him to fuck in the summer along with a few others. Tear up Halliday's agreement tomorrow. Lennon Miller was awful but he young he's entitled to an odd off game and I suspect he will be away in the Summer anyway. Kelly redeemed himself from last week but this team is still basically cack.

** and being a parochial football fan if the achievement is beyond my own team the next best thing is fucking up someone elses team

  6. The result does paper over some cracks but that is a discussion for another day and the summer contract discussions. Incredible spirit and comeback. Defending of a level that would shame a pub team and we've been doing it all season but a huge 3 points and just a game and result to be enjoyed at this minute. If we'd won that game 6-2  it would not have flattered us. Even when we were utter shite in the first half Dundee didn't test Kelly that much. Our two gifts should have had them over the line but thankfully the team cancelled out the piss poor defending.

Can I buy your motor for £100? House for £500. Don't be so stupid.

I take it you are the guy who answers the emails from Nigerian princes?

you really are a bad tempered ignorant sort. I'll make this my last interaction with the likes of you. The club is only worth what someone will pay for it, that doesn't mean that the club would be sold at any offer offer. You can ask for £8/9 million until the cows come home but if if no one offers that then its not worth £8/9Million.

30% of the club for £300k?

The club is easily worth £8-9m.

The club is only worth what people want to pay for it. I am quite content that the Society and the club will not sell us short. Nothing can be done if the WS and the fans dont want it.

The rumour going about is that they only want to put in £300,000 a year for five years and are talking about bringing in more investors later.

Society members would need to be stupid to vote for that. Any credible buyer would pay what the club is worth.

It also has to be questioned why the Society are still fundraising when this is moving forward.

if they are not wanting a majority control its surely £300,000 a year we currently don't get. Certainly for that level of investment I wouldn't expect much control to be ceded to them.

    This is what we do.

We take players, improve them, and move them on.

It would have been nice if we could have got a fee for Spittal, but at least it is another one in a long line of players we have improved who have gone on to bigger things.

Should help us attract a suitable replacement......

Exactly, only a big blow if we don't replace Spittall, I remember the "Huge Blow" stuff when we lost KVV last season and we are the 3rd highest scorers in the SPFL this season. Players come players go. There will be more Blair Spittalls for us in the years ahead.

We should get some money in for Lennon Miller and we move on.

Would imagine Slattery will prob leave at end of season but could get him on new contract for after his injury

Id be seriously disappointed if we tried to renew him, spends most time on his arse, for me Slatterys an imposter.

Would we die in a ditch over any of the 5? Only Paul McGinn and Sam Nicholson possibly?

Id be sorry to lose McGinn most of the other out of contract are very replaceable.. Hope big Bevis has refused.

  13. it took 4 minutes to arrive at the decision , that is not the definition of clear and obvious error. That is a case of looking for the minutia of a goal before you find something you can chalk it off for. If a decision cannot be made in 60/90 seconds its not a clear and obvious error so the original decision should stand.

  14. 6 hours ago, santheman said:

As much as the inconsistencies in interpreting the rules annoys me it's the time it takes that really boils my piss. I know both things are interlinked and sometimes a decision isn't always as clear cut as it seems but by christ a 3/4 minute lull in the game kills the atmosphere stone dead. More annoying if you're in the ascendancy at the time and you lose any momentum you have and yes, I realise that can work both ways but still shite from a spectators point of view.

If it take 3/4 minutes to decide,  its not a clear and obvious error the decision should stand. They should have 90 seconds to review any incident if they cant make the call by the 90 second mark the original decision stands.

FWIW I dont expect us to beat St Mirren, Dundee or Hibs. I just live in hope.

Im not sure I could keep turning up at Fir Park if I thought we were going to lose every week. (Not that Im saying thats your position.)

I know its the hope that kills you, but I cant help myself! 😆

I turn up in hope but always expect to get beat.

I wouldnt be giving up on top 6 just yet.

Hibs go to Ibrox next and we have St Mirren at home.

If we could beat them it could be down to 3 points going into the last 2 games.

If we can match their result against St Johnstone it will be all to play for in the last game.

Goal difference is tight enough to still go in our favour.

We need Rangers to despatch Dundee today though......

We will not beat Dundee in Dundee nor St Mirren at Fir Park. Top six will be done and dusted by the time Hibs come calling. If we lose to St Mirren and Ross County beat Aberdeen its a real bun fight for the play off spot.

No arguments there, we deserved to lose.

VAR is a separate issue, and as I said is ruining football matches.

I don't think we did deserve to lose , we were abysmal but Aberdeen were worse. Our age old failing , teams only need one shot at goal to beat us. All game we boot the ball long then with two mins left of normal time, we decide to play possession football and don't put a single ball into the Aberdeen area.

We need a serious clear out if we manage to stay up, this lot will always put us in bother

Having seen us finish 2nd a 3rd a few times, win the playoff against Rangers and make the top 6 from a last minute goal at Livi (to name just a few) I don't buy in to the old story about incapable of dealing with rising expectations.

Of course, the truth is that there isn't much to choose between 6 or 7 teams in our division, so any minor drop in performance can lead to a defeat against an evenly matched team.

If we're going to string a few results together, now would be a good time to do it, but Dundee just made it a wee bit harder for us to make the top six. Being at the expense of Aberdeen did soften the blow.

For every one you can give where we deal with expectations, I can give you three where we didn't. I've watched us for 46 years , dealing with rising expectations is most certainly the exception. Failures in the Cup competitions over than period are utterly littered with defeats to teams from lower divisions defeats to other SPFL teams no better than us when we'd expect to win them.
