Was watt's celebration a hint that he is staying? Looked like it from the replay of the goal, couldn't see in the ground.
Why what was his celebration. Id be amazed if he resigns there has got to be interest in him from bigger than us

Great result and good performance in atrocious conditions, Woolery was outstanding and Tony Watt every bit as good. Watts work rate was incredible. No failures tonight. Kevin Van Veen should have had two goals possibly 3. He needs to give Ali Bongo his shoes back.

Missed the first 20 mins and my stream went down for most of the 2nd half, but saw enough to know it was our poor incarnation that turned up.
It absolutely baffles me how a team can look so great one week and an absolute shambles the next. Albeit before the good performance, there was plenty evidence of our frailty.
Even allowing for Goss dropping out for Grimshaw, the drop off in performance was ridiculous.
Its pointless even trying to comment on formation or tactics when the mental side of the game just wasnt there.
Alexander looked absolutely raging after the game, and rightly so. Hopefully he can get some sort of reaction before Tuesday. But like he said in his post match, it shouldnt take a performance like that to get a reaction.
To be fair we've looked shite in the vast majority of games we've played but we have been very effective and scoring the chances we get but apart from two games we've been pretty consistently cack. Decent performances are rare.

The "european pointless pish" is a side effect of consistent league results. Only Motherwell fans would be upset by that.
(And despite rumours to the contrary, it pulls in some additional cash for the club too).
Still, I suppose playing Queens Park, Morton and Edinburgh City for the 2,375th time in the League Cup group in July is much more exciting.
who said I was upset by it Im just totally disinterested in it.

Three big games coming up for us now. If we want to be serious contenders for a European spot then we really have to show it over the next couple of weeks.
Id rather be a contender for the Scottish Cup than that european pointless pish.

Don't know if the younger fans have quite the same level of animosity towards Hearts but I absolutely love beating them every bit as much as Rangers and Celtic.
Best display of the season. Absolutely dominated from start to finish and should have probably won by quite a few more than we got. Was a 2-0 going on 5-0.
The one thing I took away from the match today was the fantastic performances from some of the more 'unfashionable' players.
Lamie, Maguire, Shields, Mugabi to name but four but everyone can be very pleased with their performance today.
couldnt agree more its always been my fav fixture I adore sticking it to them.

Vast Improvement. That the first game since we played Hibs on the opener that we played some damn good football throughout the game. What a difference to win as well as watching football that doesnt make your eyes bleed.

My main issue is that we appear to have players that should be a "less pisher" watch
i agree thats why i think its the style the manager wants them to play.

The result is great and the points tally more than decent. Did you honestly enjoy watching St Mirren and Rangers piss all over us?
Im not calling for the managers head. I actually think, man for man he has brought in a more than sble set of players. I just want to see us be a bit more expansive
our football is brutal, I've not called for the Mangers head I dont enjoy his style, I just subscribe to the notion we are invariably pish to watch every week.

A thoroughly enjoyable second half. Goss and KVV making the difference. Ricki Lamie too, what a performance. He is extremely solid for us when called upon which is remarkable considering how genuinely horrific he was for the first few months of his Motherwell career.
I can only hope one day to love somebody as much as Lewis Irons loves Liam Kelly.
Enjoyable for 10 mins, great result but we a re hard to watch. After the absolute pish of the previous 5 games the result was always going to be more important than the performance but we play some amount of mind numbing stuff.

We haven’t beaten Rangers in a league game for 19 years. Ross County are the only team in the league with a worse record than that against them. Too often we are beaten before the first whistle.of all the clubs who have been in the league for all those 19 years we are by far the worst. Its shameful and our record against Celtic is going the same way.

I see both sides of the debate. GA came in and turned things around. We were almost certainly doomed without him and with Tommy Wright (who many wanted) took Killie down.
All that said I do feel as if we have the squad depth to be performing better than what we are seeing. We also must have any permutation of 11 players that can be more difficult to beat. Right now 4-3-3 and leaving our flanks exposed time and again is NOT working. We are constantly overrun out wide and in midfield.
At the moment he does not appear to have a plan B. I am not saying 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 or any other formation will yield a dramatic turnaround but we simply need to be more difficult to beat and we need to bolster the midfield. That and try and get two full backs that look like they know how to defend properly. Then we might just see an improvement.
But if at Pittodrie we see 4-3-3 and McGinley at left back I think he should be fired before KO.
Killie were pretty much doomed by the time Wright took over he just inherited a bigger pigs ear than Alexander and Tommy Wright wont be out a job by January

At a stage of the season when only 33 points have been available in total. We are also only 6 points off a European place.
Alexander has to be given more time and I'm afraid we just have to hunker down and deal with the situation that the club was left in. As you said you re-assess it after the 2nd round of matches are played.
Theres no question of him not being given time we are not the type of club to do kneejerk reaction. For me hes had a year and we are still watching mind numbing shite every week. I have no confidence he's the man yo change it. But what I think doesnt matter a fuck. Never mind Goss will be the best passer in the SPF or should that have been passenger

He’s obviously now going to come under pressure after a promising start as manager, however we had this under Robinson and he was given time. Alexander’s going to get the same opportunity this season unless we hit bottom two which we won’t. Any talk of him leaving is pointless because it’s not going to happen.
We wont hit bottom two, how you can say that watching the utter dross we watch every week is beyond me. Theres an excellent chance we will lose our next two games and that would be one point out of 21. That pretty close to bottom two form.
-
Alexander can fuck off any time he likes fuck anti football pish every week.

Wee problem solve , does anyone know the value of X
Played Rangers in the League 54 Times Won 0
Played Rangers in the League 55 times Won X

Had we won 2 of our last 3 games we would be clear in 2nd spot. So it would seem we are all upset because we are not in second spot. Progress indeed.
if you think thats what bothering everyone you are just not reading the room . Folk are commenting on the performances , which in the main are pish and the fact that GA is trying to tell us a turd is fillet minion and if my granny had bawz shed have been my grandad.

That was a bit worrying.
I mean we weren't as bad as some people are making out but the managers assessment was just as far, if not further than the truth.
In the main supporters aint daft. Football players, coaches and pundits try to overly complicate the simplicity of the game, invariably trying to be too clever with their technical jargon. Most fans know if they've watched a decent performance or not irrespective of the bollocks slant the professionals want to try and put on it. Almost to a man every Motherwell fans thought we were pish yesterday. Therefore we can confidently say we were pish irrespective what nonsense GA is trying to spin.

I agree a bit with GA, we had our chances to score a couple of goals but McGinley n SOD were crap, think Carrol deserves a return, surely can’t be any worse than McGinley and maybe Grimmy to RB?
But why oh why do we persist on short corners Goss to Slattery who then couldn’t hit a Motherwell barn door at 5 yards the whole game?
Ohara comes on and in 10 minutes has more quality balls to heads than Slattery n Goss had the whole fecking game, predicable fir United not needing to defend one decent corner with KVV standing waiting, and waiting..and waiting, we need a victory on Wednesday, without it we are in free fall, time for your fingers to be pulled out rear arseholes boys!SOD, McGinley n Goss to the bench for Wednesday for me.
Grimmy should be right back, aye right back in the reserves, hes honking. Goss is a shocker too. When Solholm is fit Id have him and OJala at centre of defence, put Mugabi to right back drop SOD, Carroll to Left back and drop McGinley. Drop Grimshaw replace with with O'Hara. Im rapidly coming to the view that Van Veem aint up to much either.

Somehow, even though we were terrible, their keeper had to make a few excellent saves to keep us out, and we had the disallowed goal as well, while Utd had two chances. Weird one, maybe this is how the teams we beat felt.
McGinley and Slattery were especially poor today, although they had plenty of competition. Turning a promising break for us into a goal for them just summed us up.
We need to ditch the front three, we have our best striker playing out wide, displaced by a once again piss poor Van Veen. Woolery shows flashes then hides, which is frustrating as he's shown he can go past his man when he's not competing with grimshaw in the backpass Olympics. He inexplicably seems to be one of the first names on the team sheet, I don't get it.
We're going to be up and down like this, so not worrying, just like I wasn't looking out the passport after a couple of decent wins.
Now I'm taking my covid booster generated 103 fever back to bed and going to pretend the game didn't happen.
We were terrible as were Dundee Utd. Teams dont need to be good to beat us , just patient cos we will invariably give the opposition free hits.

Thank Fuck Tommy Wright never got the Motherwell job, could you imagine watching mind numbing pish every week.....

Hearts were decent in the first half and knocked it about fairly well but i didn't come away from that game being overly impressed by them,it was our poor decision making in the first half that handed them victory,if woolery had scored that game could easily have turned.i think hearts and hibs will battle it out for third but nothing more than that, even a poor celtic team will finish clear of either.
Bang On Hearts were gifted a game and were nothing special.

We never would be holding onto Tony Watt with the kind of displays he gives us. Even signing a new contract doesnt change that, it merely ensures a better bargaining position for the club financially , the sad but truthful position for every SPFL club when they have a gem.
