  1. Robinson stated he had his first full day training at some point while they were away.
  2. You’re seriously comparing a local Derby against another premiership team with a game against a Championship team with 100 odd fans. Come on that’s desperate stuff. Cup game against Championship Morton 18 months or so ago the attendance was 3100 with way more away support.
  3. You see again “ deserting in droves” where is the evidence this is actually happening ?
  4. But are crowds actually down on the norm, i’m not sure that actually are ? I honestly think the remit will be keeping us up, might be wrong.
  5. I would have though if we had been looking a few months ago Robbie Neilson would have been in the frame. I’m also pretty sure that someone on here would rubbish just about every Scottish manager mentioned.
  6. There is no obvious stand out candidate in Scotland in my view.
  7. I doubt very much that Burrows is seeing games any different to anyone else, he knows yesterday was rank as was the St Mirren and to a lesser extent the Killy home game. However he may well be asking the question can he keep us up this season and in truth I still believe he will. We keep asking this but is avoiding relegation the remit and if so he’s still on track with a decent cushion. Have crowds and season ticket sales dropped due to the type of football ? not sure they have. Thing is with Robinson he always pulls it around with wins when they are really needed, I would certainly expect him to keep doing that even accepting the football is usually awful.
  8. In the post match interview he stated we don’t have the players to play total football. That’s more or less an admission we don’t have players technically proficient enough to pass the ball. What we have is most definitely a halfway house where he has suddenly decided he is taking so much stick for the style of play he feels under pressure to change it. We actually do have some players capable of passing the ball but we have others in the first 11 who just lump it forward regardless so clearly the message did not reach them. He’s clearly stating in that post match interview that he wants to change things and it’s going to take time. He got it badly wrong yesterday and that was obvious after no more than 5 minutes, wrong choice for central midfield, Turnbull certainly out of position, no central striker able to hold the ball up, and stupid punts upfield from Hartley, Aldred, and a totally hopeless Dunne. He needs to make his mind up what he wants moving forward and build towards that. But he can’t do what he did again and play a formation with the wrong players in key positions while still persisting with the same style of football totally at odds with that particular formation.
  9. There is a level up between the Championship and the Premiership, what percentage of teams from the championship win the play offs against a premiership team ? Look at Motherwell against Rangers over two legs when it came to the crunch. As I say we lost today not because of how good Ross County were.
  10. I wondered how long it would take you. Truth is we did not lose because of the quality of Ross County, and really they were nothing to fear, unless you saw something in them that was anything special ? That loss was 100% down to us, our colts put up a better showing against them.
  11. There was a change of formation, but the style of play was exactly the same. That’s the baffling thing because the two were totally incompatible today. He may be intending playing a different style which of course most would welcome, but it’s certainly not started yet.
  12. No one deserves a vote in my opinion after that one.
  13. The problem for me is that was often effective with the players we had and it got us to two cup finals and a very decent league finish. We did that today with the formation and players that demanded something different and forwards that were totally unsuited to that style of play. I think as you say some thing went wrong communication wise because it was always going to end up a disaster.
  14. I think Big Stall summed it up in part of his post above. Despite the formation all we did 9 times out of 10 was punt balls up from the back. There was actually little or no intent on keeping the ball on the ground and using the width the formation needed. Given neither McCormack or Johnstone are giants that was just plain crazy. Second half and again as Big Stall has stated we did not have a clue what we were doing, it just deteriorated into a complete, desperate, shambles. You would have had no idea we were the Premiership team.
  15. I was pretty shocked when I saw him in truth, given time i’ve no doubt he will get fitter and improve. Ok he needed game time and he got 45 minutes which is important, probably should have been on the bench coming on some time second half, but yep, pretty disappointing.
  16. McCormack was blowing in the warm up, he should have been nowhere near the starting 11 today, miles off been match fit.
  17. Not sure about us underestimating Ross County, more that they could probably not believe how bad we were. We were an absolute shambles there, I can usually find a couple of positives but not from that game.
  18. Of course there are always shocks in the cup, in any country and of course as with any of the other ties we could slip up, i’m personally though confident we will come out on top. Sadly i’m also well over 40.
  19. Look past the league position to recent results, away form, injuries, fans stating they have been struggling for a good while with results hiding poor performances. We should have nothing to fear, there is a distinct difference in quality between the Premiership and championship.
  20. We have tended to do well in the cup against lower division sides, gave Morton a real doing over last season and i’m more than confident we will come out of this with a win. They are really struggling just now so we have nothing to fear.
  21. With a club the size of Celtic and the opportunities that gives its really a step up.
  22. I’m going to call total bulls**t on that one.
  23. Believe it or not getting to two cup finals with a fairly unfashionable club will have raised his profile down south. I personally don’t believe he will be going anywhere but as woukd not be hugely surprised if it happened.
