  1. There is criticism which of course does come with the job, even thought it’s still sometimes unjustified, and downright abuse and I include Burrows in that. I think to state he deserves every abusive word is just plain wrong. There has been some way over the top stuff at times.
  2. It’s that “grass is always greener” mentality. History tells us it rarely is and when running a small budget a management position at a club like ours and those around us is always going to be tough. We’ve just gone above Hibs, a club with a budget probably three times higher than ours which is an achievement in itself in my view. Sadly I guess it’s just human nature that when things are not going well people go on the attack and someone is getting it, whether some of the accusations are actually factual does not seem to matter, Turnbull and Robinson had fallen out being only one example.
  3. I personally think 6th may be just too much, we’ve certainly improved but we will start dropping points now in the next few games. However job done by Robinson for another season and no conversation to be had in the summer.
  4. I would actually offer McHugh another deal, he’s adaptable and a very usuful centre half when we need someone reliable. He may end up a backup player next season if everyone signs a new contract but he’s a good back up to have.
  5. Gillespie, I don’t see Carson getting back in regardless.
  6. The last of the very winnable run of games which to be fair we have won and it’s then on to a far tougher next few.
  7. I though St Mirren were awful at our place, the fact they won shows how poor we were. Let’s be honest this is a game we should be winning, very difficult to predict anything else. 2-0 the well.
  8. Gorrin always had spells where you could see he had talent, he just needed that opportunity and to stay fit. He just seemed to go under the radar for many in the drive to claim that Robinson’s summer recruits were awful. Robinson also still really rates Donnelly, another one I would not write off too early.
  9. There is actually a chance he will be poached by a club down south. That’s going to be the most likely way he leaves us. Come on Yodo I bet you can’t wait to predict relegation again next season
  10. The continued development of the young players has been key and he’s always said he would bring them in, but only when the timing was right for both them and the club. Personally I think that’s responsible management which should be applauded. Hastie is a great example of someone who could have come in too early and gone backwards because of it. Scott is not being rushed which for me is again the correct thing to do, Maguire will be next. I’m just glad the board did not panic and sack Robinson which would have been a huge mistake in my view and could have ended up costing us a place in the top flight if they got the next guy wrong. Yes the football under Robinson has been very poor, no arguement there and he’s definitely got it wrong at times, the cup against Ross county a prime example but he’s also got it right just as often in big games. Anyway regardless I now believe the uncertainty regarding next season is over and we won’t be changing manager, in my view that’s a good thing.
  11. I’m afraid Robinson can’t win with one or two whatever he does.
  12. He has always stated he would not rush young players and doing so could damage their development, he is still saying the same thing. Turnbull was brought in at the right time, Hastie sent out to gain experience before being given his chance. He has done the same with Maguire. He could have rushed Scott but again is making sure the timing is right, same with Livingstone. You state last throw of the dice, I would say good management and not bowing to pressure from the likes of yourself months ago. The only “young boys “he brought in was Hastie by the way, Campbell has always been given a chance by Robinson and he understands like any young player he will have his ups and downs. He also brought Gorrin back in who you have stated in the past was yet another rubbish Robinson signing because you were so desperate to see him play any young player while dismissing anyone he signed.
  13. I would second that, excellent interview that maybe showed Robinson has not always been given enough credit. I think he has actually managed the young players really well.
  14. You really need to look back at some of his performances, he really was not even close to as good as a few think, including himself.
  15. If he plays, personally I think he will find it just as as difficult holding down a place at Hibs. A luxury player probably not suited to the Scottish top flight.
  16. He goes with my full blessing, probably on big money and in my view no big loss.
  17. Question is do we waste money now or wait until the summer for the right players ? If someone we really want becomes available fine but other than that surely we can make do with who we already have given we are safe. Couple of places higher and a bit more money against spending money on players not really what we wanted ?
  18. Not sure i’m actually that bothered at this stage given we are as good as safe, it would be a brave individual to still be stating we could go down. Start the strengthening with permanent signings in the summer now for me, different situation if we were in the relegation mire. Why not just give our other young players some game time now.
  19. If the Hartley rumour is true i’m not sure I would actually be that bothered. He’s never really produced this season and just seemed to hoof the ball from out of defence most of the time, might be more about Robinson. However I would now rather see McHugh playing there in truth.
  20. Watching Maguire on Saturday he has all the attributes. Tall, strong, composed, good distribution, good in the air. He looks another winner.
  21. Mate we are already as good as safe.
  22. Motherwell: Long, Watt, McMillan, Ferguson, Hall, Campbell, MacLean (Hastie 90), Turnbull (Leitch 71), Mackin (Falconer 77) Thomas, Cadden. Subs: Morrison, Livingston.
  23. Watched Maguire at the Thistle game Saturday. He looks like another to follow shortly. Within 12 months we could be looking at 7 of the 10 outfield players having come through the ranks.
  24. Best news this season, he will only get better and when he does move and if the timing is right the club should make a fortune.
