  1. I genuinely believe this is the best we've been for a few years. Takes me back to our purple patch under Robinson when players were working hard and playing good footy. The watch out for me is burnout, particularly in midfield. Davor is the only midfielder we have from the 1st team not playing. Longer term we'll need more depth, appreciate Butcher may return but not sure he'd cover the ground that our current midfield are. We'll need 1 -2 extras in Jan who can fit in nicely. Overall accept being gutted to lose with a team I'm proud to be associated with v's some of the dross of last couple of years. We're moving in the right direction.
  2. performed well as a team, every played added a level of value. Paton has proven to be a much better player than I first suspected and got my vote ahead of Spittal who I thought was very composed taking his goal
  3. Like us all, gutted we didn't take something, particularly when we thought we'd rescued a point. As much as it hurts there's plenty to be proud of and all the team & management deserve credit for their efforts. These are games that we basically shipped +4 goals in the past. As hard as it is, we're at least competing. However that's 3 games in a row that we've played to our max and taken hee haw. It's key to grind out results and put some points back on the board . Don't want confidence to drop.
  4. prob the right level. Well done to all. Club have been superb at moving out those who won't feature long term
  5. To be fair the last 2 games have been far more competitive than I’ve seen for over a decade against the old firm won’t be overly critical , we’re working well as a team
  6. We could and should have replaced midfield 15 mins ago
  7. He reminds me of lasley . Works hard , does the simple things well . Not a world beater but much better than I first thought
  8. Once Soare is fit I suspect we’ll play spencer on the right and drop SOD
  9. Understand the need to try and keep the ball but this tip tapping in our own box does nothing for my nerves
  10. Neither McKinstry or Tierney were out and out strikers .Bair is. He's a target man. A big hard working lad who's putting in 100%. I very much doubt he's a long term solution but full credit to any player who does their best every time they pull a Well shirt on.
  11. He clearly has positive aspects to his game. The short answer is anyone who's a forward player but not an out and out striker has no place in the way we play. McKinstry similar Tierney had some positive aspects but without a clear position and ultimately no place in the team
  12. cracking player - since moving to a back 3/5 he's been magnificent.
  13. In terms of our strikers I believe both loanees are the guys likely to score more goals . Appreciate Mika only had 30 mins but his attributes were clear . shaw has only had cameos but I’ve seen enough to see he’s a decent player . vs Bair and Obika . Neither likely to score goals but both add different value - a bit like Main did previously . Finally we have Wilkinson , looks like he may score a few goals but doesn’t seem to have much impact on games .. suspect SK will pick 2 . One who can score and the other who can add value in other ways
  14. Similar feeling to what I had before the Rangers game - we're tough to beat long, particularly humped. We need Lady Luck to be on our side , after last couple of games feel we need to get a result. Don't expect one but by god would I love 3 points .
  15. Defensively we were excellent today and in the first half several of our more defensive players got further up the park. Couple of players I've previously been uncomplimentary but both are having a very good season. First half Paton was excellent, before he ran out of puff. Mugabi was my player of the game. His positional awareness has really improved and he looks a lot more accomplished than previous seasons.
  16. Despite the lack of quality in the final 3rd there's lots to be pleased with. Very well organised, every player knows their role. They all work hard for one another. We will score goals as a team, just doubt current forward(s) will get to double figures. If we continue as we are still believe we're 7th or better in this league and for now that will do.
  17. A well organised , hard working team with limited talent moving forward .
  18. Several players look done for the day due to the first half energy . paton , spittal in midfield both look cooked . Could do with another sub
  19. Agreed - sadly he’s just not a goal scorer / player with instinct . hard working and well intended but we need someone who can score
  20. Worth putting both shaw and Wilkinson . Take off Bair and spittal neither of them having any impact on the game
  21. very frustrating. We're working better as team and putting in plenty of effort. The difference is they have more quality and will always score. As well as we've played we've not looked like scoring or really troubling their keeper .
  22. Fortunate goal - they’ve offered very little
  23. I like the progress we’re making as a team . Not so long ago I expected to lose these games by +4 goals of a difference . win , lose or draw I expect us to play as a team and fight for one another .
  24. agree with that. Efford scored 2 goals in 25 games. I don't even know if he was a winger/striker. Got fed up hearing here's a guy who can (or can't ) play anywhere across the top 3. Wish him well and good move to move him on.
