  1. Neither McKinstry or Tierney were out and out strikers .Bair is. He's a target man. A big hard working lad who's putting in 100%. I very much doubt he's a long term solution but full credit to any player who does their best every time they pull a Well shirt on.
  2. He clearly has positive aspects to his game. The short answer is anyone who's a forward player but not an out and out striker has no place in the way we play. McKinstry similar Tierney had some positive aspects but without a clear position and ultimately no place in the team
  3. cracking player - since moving to a back 3/5 he's been magnificent.
  4. In terms of our strikers I believe both loanees are the guys likely to score more goals . Appreciate Mika only had 30 mins but his attributes were clear . shaw has only had cameos but I’ve seen enough to see he’s a decent player . vs Bair and Obika . Neither likely to score goals but both add different value - a bit like Main did previously . Finally we have Wilkinson , looks like he may score a few goals but doesn’t seem to have much impact on games .. suspect SK will pick 2 . One who can score and the other who can add value in other ways
  5. Similar feeling to what I had before the Rangers game - we're tough to beat long, particularly humped. We need Lady Luck to be on our side , after last couple of games feel we need to get a result. Don't expect one but by god would I love 3 points .
  6. Defensively we were excellent today and in the first half several of our more defensive players got further up the park. Couple of players I've previously been uncomplimentary but both are having a very good season. First half Paton was excellent, before he ran out of puff. Mugabi was my player of the game. His positional awareness has really improved and he looks a lot more accomplished than previous seasons.
  7. Despite the lack of quality in the final 3rd there's lots to be pleased with. Very well organised, every player knows their role. They all work hard for one another. We will score goals as a team, just doubt current forward(s) will get to double figures. If we continue as we are still believe we're 7th or better in this league and for now that will do.
  8. A well organised , hard working team with limited talent moving forward .
  9. Several players look done for the day due to the first half energy . paton , spittal in midfield both look cooked . Could do with another sub
  10. Agreed - sadly he’s just not a goal scorer / player with instinct . hard working and well intended but we need someone who can score
  11. Worth putting both shaw and Wilkinson . Take off Bair and spittal neither of them having any impact on the game
  12. very frustrating. We're working better as team and putting in plenty of effort. The difference is they have more quality and will always score. As well as we've played we've not looked like scoring or really troubling their keeper .
  13. Fortunate goal - they’ve offered very little
  14. I like the progress we’re making as a team . Not so long ago I expected to lose these games by +4 goals of a difference . win , lose or draw I expect us to play as a team and fight for one another .
  15. agree with that. Efford scored 2 goals in 25 games. I don't even know if he was a winger/striker. Got fed up hearing here's a guy who can (or can't ) play anywhere across the top 3. Wish him well and good move to move him on.
  16. Writing was on the wall re him leaving. Suspect we hoped another club would come in during the window to take him off our hands as would be financially better than cutting the contract. This hasn't happened but still better to let a player go than have someone around the place who's not part of the future.
  17. SK deserves man of the match as he’s created a team . thought the full squad all played to the best of their ability . Casey for me is MoTM , a leader and someone who could well be our future captain .
  18. Better than the sum of the parts. The absolutely strength today was being together as a team. It's been quite a few seasons since I've enjoyed watching a 'Well team defend and fight for one another. Appreciate not a one off either, this has been building since day 1. Togetherness is key to our success and long may that continue.
  19. We look exhausted this half and out muscled
  20. Very harsh - not sold it was even a foul
  21. I’d take of Bair and spittal , need to change and get further up the park
  22. Where are the real Motherwell fans from this forum. People predicting wins, what's going on here .
  23. Really difficult to say where we'll finish the season. Some very decent youngsters and a bit of quality throughout. The younger players are likely to be inconsistent but feeling more optimistic at the and of the window than the start. Happy to be anywhere better than 8th and hope to see a hard working team who can push on and do at least 1 better than last season. Would love to see us humping Hearts - that's always good and I can't stand Naismith. 'Mon the Well.
