  1. Really difficult to say where we'll finish the season. Some very decent youngsters and a bit of quality throughout. The younger players are likely to be inconsistent but feeling more optimistic at the and of the window than the start. Happy to be anywhere better than 8th and hope to see a hard working team who can push on and do at least 1 better than last season. Would love to see us humping Hearts - that's always good and I can't stand Naismith. 'Mon the Well.
  2. Fair play to SK he’s addressed several of the areas we’ve needed cover . Suspect this pushes SOD back in the pecking order . Born out of injuries , suspect the three signings in the last week to be better than those they replace . A good sign .
  3. Shaw seems like a really decent signing. In truth suspect he’ll get a start even when all the others are fit .
  4. The unknown is whether Biereth or Obika remain fit once recovered. I'm not a huge fan of a 36 year old Fletcher, however my mind changes when I look across our current front line.
  5. Project is kind and represents the situation. Bair is clearly a fit strong lad, willing to work hard. Labelling project suggests he was cheap and we shouldn't expect to see much/anything for the first year. Bits of the game are more teachable than others. Strikers tend to have a nose for goal and the rest can be taught. I don't believe Bair has the nose for goal but doesn't mean he can't offer something else. Who knows, he may end up being a decent midfielder or defender. The more we do to take pressure off the lad the better and like you and others have mentioned that means a position on the bench at best is the right place for Bair right now.
  6. bring him back here for a year on loan and he can go back next year when they're back in championship
  7. SK has the potential to be the best manager we’ve had for some time . common sense , no nonsense , got the team playing as a team .
  8. Be interesting to see if both McGinley and Efford both find other clubs either as perm or loanees before the window shuts. National league is prob the right levels.
  9. A fit Moult will score at any level in the Scottish game. If and it's a big 'if' he stays fit he'll have a great season.
  10. What I really enjoyed about yesterday is the willingness to change it. 2 up front in the first half wasn't working. In part as neither of the front 2 were good enough but also we were out muscled in midfield for a variety of reasons. Having a manager being willing and able to adapt the set up mid game is refreshing. It was an obvious change that we needed but previous managers were often too stubborn to change. SK is showing an ability to adapt as we go. FWIW given Lennon is learning & Spittal/Slattery both prefer to get up the park the formation we finished the game is currently the one we should start with.
  11. was rumoured back in June but not heard anything. As desperate as we are I'm not convinced bringing in a 36 year old is the answer, particularly one with a 1:4 goal record. Significantly better than the fit ones we have but I'd rather spend the money on a promising loanee
  12. got to agree with you here. A 6 month contact would have been reasonable to prove he has something. Expect/need us to bring in a striker for at least 6 months.
  13. What a difference dropping one of the front two and bringing on Paton hold my hands up as not been a fan to Paton but he did the simple things well and made a huge difference to the overall team . well done lads
  14. Efford was better than Bair . clesrly SK doesnt like efford .
  15. Personally think we should change formation . Bair offers zero , I’d rather put another midfielder on , push spittal further up
  16. Pass marks for slattery so far but not many others . need to get the basics right in second half
  17. Got some sympathy given the lack of cohesion that we’ve had . So far killie are the better team , who are well drilled .
  18. Bierreth is the one singing I've been really excited about. Point I didn't make well was SK has rolled the dice on players who have all missed large chunks of games. I don't accept that we're that we're so strapped for cash that we couldn't bring in other players of similar or better quality that have better health record. Im a huge fan of how SK has run the club and tackled issues. I'm not convinced on his signing approach albeit willing many of them to turn good.
  19. Wilkinson has played +30 games for last xx years. He's defo unlucky. The same can't be said for Paton , Soare, Obika or Biereth. SK has to take his share of accountability for this. Reducing squad size whilst brining in players who have had little game time was one heck of a risk.
  20. Yes -his concentration is the issue, far to lax and switches off. Other than that has good attributes. We simply can't afford players who switch off. Worrying that for now we need to play Mugabi every week, he'll also cost us goals/games.
  21. defo got alarm bells increasing in noise over recent weeks. Other than Wilkinson all our summer signings have had injury issues - thats one heck of a risk, particularly when the strategy is to have a small squad. Unless we have more youngsters who we can take a risk with then we need to bring in some quality over the next week, which is likely to be more loanees.
  22. I'm frustrated with the club at the moment. SK did a brilliant job of finding a system and getting the most from decent players. Also a great job at offloading 10+ players. I don't understand why we're taking such a miserly approach. We're in a tough spot and the constant rhetoric doesn't fill my boots with optimism. 2 league games in and down to bare bones, reverting back to playing guys who have previously not cut it and playing others out of position. History could easily repeat itself for both SK and us if we're not careful. It's plausible that come Jan we have another desperate act of bringing in a truckload of lucky bag hopefuls in the jan sales. We need to stack the cards in our favour and quickly.
  23. Im with you , it was poor tackle, reckless . Mugabi was sent of in 2 mins v's His and our fans were in uproar , he didn't mean it etc. The truth is he lunges in, can mistime and put opposition at risk. Doesn't mean he's out to end peoples career. He's a big strong lad who's clumsy, as in Dunne. My concern is our best defender is injured, our best striker is injured and our best midfielder is 16 years old. This is the time to get quality reinforcements. Spend a few quid now to ensure we're not panicking in Jan.
