  1. got to agree with you here. A 6 month contact would have been reasonable to prove he has something. Expect/need us to bring in a striker for at least 6 months.
  2. What a difference dropping one of the front two and bringing on Paton hold my hands up as not been a fan to Paton but he did the simple things well and made a huge difference to the overall team . well done lads
  3. Efford was better than Bair . clesrly SK doesnt like efford .
  4. Personally think we should change formation . Bair offers zero , I’d rather put another midfielder on , push spittal further up
  5. Pass marks for slattery so far but not many others . need to get the basics right in second half
  6. Got some sympathy given the lack of cohesion that we’ve had . So far killie are the better team , who are well drilled .
  7. Bierreth is the one singing I've been really excited about. Point I didn't make well was SK has rolled the dice on players who have all missed large chunks of games. I don't accept that we're that we're so strapped for cash that we couldn't bring in other players of similar or better quality that have better health record. Im a huge fan of how SK has run the club and tackled issues. I'm not convinced on his signing approach albeit willing many of them to turn good.
  8. Wilkinson has played +30 games for last xx years. He's defo unlucky. The same can't be said for Paton , Soare, Obika or Biereth. SK has to take his share of accountability for this. Reducing squad size whilst brining in players who have had little game time was one heck of a risk.
  9. Yes -his concentration is the issue, far to lax and switches off. Other than that has good attributes. We simply can't afford players who switch off. Worrying that for now we need to play Mugabi every week, he'll also cost us goals/games.
  10. defo got alarm bells increasing in noise over recent weeks. Other than Wilkinson all our summer signings have had injury issues - thats one heck of a risk, particularly when the strategy is to have a small squad. Unless we have more youngsters who we can take a risk with then we need to bring in some quality over the next week, which is likely to be more loanees.
  11. I'm frustrated with the club at the moment. SK did a brilliant job of finding a system and getting the most from decent players. Also a great job at offloading 10+ players. I don't understand why we're taking such a miserly approach. We're in a tough spot and the constant rhetoric doesn't fill my boots with optimism. 2 league games in and down to bare bones, reverting back to playing guys who have previously not cut it and playing others out of position. History could easily repeat itself for both SK and us if we're not careful. It's plausible that come Jan we have another desperate act of bringing in a truckload of lucky bag hopefuls in the jan sales. We need to stack the cards in our favour and quickly.
  12. Im with you , it was poor tackle, reckless . Mugabi was sent of in 2 mins v's His and our fans were in uproar , he didn't mean it etc. The truth is he lunges in, can mistime and put opposition at risk. Doesn't mean he's out to end peoples career. He's a big strong lad who's clumsy, as in Dunne. My concern is our best defender is injured, our best striker is injured and our best midfielder is 16 years old. This is the time to get quality reinforcements. Spend a few quid now to ensure we're not panicking in Jan.
  13. Frustrating to lose a player who looks to be the real deal. It looked a poor challenge. Irrespective of intent, motive, accident blah blah blah we've lost out on a new signing that we were excited about. Solution, go out and get another loanee in who will score goals + replace Maguire + any other player who is leaving A sprinkling of quality throughout the team will put a smile on our frustrated faces.
  14. fair point. SK has proven to be good at managing what he had. Keen to see if he can bring in better than what we had.
  15. For me it's too early to assess the success of the window. Soare looks a decent player - he may just be out with a knock. Casey is a good player . He's one of the few players we should have resigned. Zdravkovski - give the lad time to settle. Suspect he'll be decent. Another Simo would be just great. Wilkinson - has a reasonable goals record. Again a bit of time needed to adjust to league but he could be ok. Mika - he looks far too good for our level but we get the chance to nurse him through and benefit for a season. I wouldn't have signed Paton, Obika or Bair for a mixture of reasons but time will tell. Suspect a couple more of our squad will move out , leaving way for a couple more signings. More premiership loanees please.
  16. Just when we thought it was safe to be a well fan . sounds like a very poor display with a single shot on goal. that being said some perspective needed in terms of where we are . One defeat doesn’t lead to doom nor one lead to SK walking on water .
  17. StMirren are pretty physical team, I can see why he's on the bench and start with Davor. Given Miller is only 16 there will be times to give him a bit of breather. That said suspect both Miller and Biereth will have game time.
  18. not for me. Goss was decent moving forward but we need someone who can tackle. One of the issues in our midfield last year was the mix of Spittal/Goss/Slattery. All decent moving forward but lacked defensive qualities.
  19. Great point. Think thats us down to 5 in total. I'm hoping Zdrakovski is a good holding midfielder but yes suspect we need someone else. Having someone who can coordinate/hold the ball in the middle of the park will be great. A bit like Butcher has done at the back.
  20. Good luck to him. It's like the opposite side of the Max Johnston coin. Barry was at the club for over a decade, came through the ranks and re-signed at 22 when perhaps he should have been cut free. Quite similar to Cornelius who I believe we offered a contract (in terms of age and not proven to be good enough) . Learning - players who are better than our level know it and likely to leave rather than re-sign. By 22 we should know if good enough. The chances are The really good players will leave before 22 ,we will get some cash for them, either development fee or Turnbull style. Those not good enough will want to stay and we need to be a bit more ruthless. We need to find more of the Hammels, Lasley's who are good enough but not too good. Not easy , we could do with a gaffer who''s good enough and not too good to be lured away. Here's hoping SK is that guy.
  21. FWIW I think Wilkinson was always a better options and more likely to be the first choice with Mika for the season. His goal return is far superior and doesn't have a decade of injury worries. Obika was always a risk. People were quick to rip into SH for brining back Moult. This isn't that different. Appreciate hindsight goggles etc but this isn't surprising.
  22. There’s plenty of reasons to be optimistic . Form since SK came in puts us well ahead . Personal we should be backing ourselves . Ties against spl clubs will be tough but i do expect us to win , potentially convincingly .
  23. Butcher, Paton, Obika, McGinley, Efford and to a degree Lamie & Mugabi all have had injury issues. Ideally suspect SK would move on McGinley, Efford, Lamie and Maguire to bring in fresh talent. Having some quality in holding midfield seems an obvious gap. The challenge is who would want the afore mentioned players. Possibly the Scottish Championship level but there doesn't seem to be anyone rushing in to snap them up. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up doing swap deals with StMirren - who also need to move out to move in.
