I wish Craigan would the the gig. He talks so much sense and would be awesome as a manager. Sadly he's made it clear that he doesn't want it. He's happy doing what he does. A real shame as I think he'd prove to be a great mgr for us.

Would be harsh not to give SK credit for when he came in. He did the obvious things that eluded others. Playing with 3 centre halves, 2 wing backs. Getting shape into the team. Playing with a strike partner. Since closed season he shipped out a lot and has brought in dross but we started the season well, kept a simple shape and did the simple things well. Since September it's gone from being close against the OF to just being poor, lost the plot with formations and lost the plot with playing players out of position. Today was such an obvious choice to play the 3-5-2 that pivots to a 5-3-2. Spencer/Gent as wingbacks. SK like many previous gaffers need to show he has a plan B and can get teams out of the brown stuff rather than going deeper into oblivion.

Hearts were there for the taking today. 3 months ago our well drilled team would have won that game. For the first 20 mins Hearts struggled to pass, find players and looked very weak at the back. BUT we made life very easy. Poor control from likes of Bair, Wilkinson and the atrocious inability of all team to make simple passes brought them into the game. Defensively we had no cover in the left back position. We allowed crosses to come in to the box without coming close to either the first or 2nd ball. I don't really blame the players, again set up far too narrow with a 4-3-3 that doesn't suit the players or the way we've been set up since Feb. We have become the gift that keeps giving and it's difficult to have any confidence that current regime will get back to basics and pick up points.

Formations/performances/people out of position are getting worse. We're a team that ship simple goals whilst offering nothing in attack. 1 shot at goal again, at home. Each week passes looks less likely that the manager will turn it around. His credibility/stock value has crumbled. 3 months ago our basics were superb - players were average but we were well drilled. That's gone out the window. A huge turnaround in approach is required.
-
like the one who create the goal in midweek - wonder what happened to him
-
Well said. Several players simply not good enough and have a manager running out of ideas fast.
-
3 changes needed for 2nd half. Take off S'OD , Wikinson and Bair Put on Spencer, Gent & Obika
-
agree - we also need to shore up on the left hand side. The lack of wingback is left a massive gap.
-
spot on Mio. We don't do the basics in anyway shape or form. Problem with Bair - he doesn't read the game and as much effort he puts in isn't a footballer. Not that Bair is the single issue, the basics that all team had are out the window.
-
very soft goal to give . Bair lost his man , free header to see up SHankland .
-
the lack of being able to make simple passes to another another continues to put us in trouble. Frustrating as Hearts don't look brilliant either
-
Dreadful - we played our way into trouble there .
-
Maybe it’s the gaffers shoogly peg .
-
Couple of early chances . Need a bit more quality or for it to fall to Mika
-
You left out the early booking for Slattery

What irks me is SK recognised that getting balls in to box was the difference. This came from people hitting the wide areas , which we'd get from Spencer on right, Gent on the left. There is zero width to this team, feels like we're going down the route of anti-football and moving away from what SK first brought.
-
completely agree on formation and also agree that's probably as strong a starting line up as possible. Personally would like to see Davor but only because he's had so little time and the other midfielders haven't offered much.
-
SK must think he's rotten. He said he needs to show more than Slattery, SPittal, Paton have shown. Hardly a high bar to reach. This is a poor reflection on SK's summer approach. Great job at moving players out and reducing the squad. Was hoping we'd have smaller squad and use the savings to bring in better quality to improve our overall squad. None of the new perm signings are good enough, the Bair project is his biggest success (sigh) I still advocate for giving SK time but its hard to listen to these interviews. There's no excuse for bad results. Quite simply need to a) get back to creating chances, more than 2 shots on goal and b) win.

Think it has to be the midfield but only if we play spencer on the right and gent on the left . we need natural width and get balls into the box . also think we need to drop slattery and replace with Davor as need more in the middle defensively
-
It’s the first game for a while where on paper we’re clearly underdogs . that might , just might bring us 3 points .
-
Part of our problem is for current players we need to play a starting 12. 3 centre halves 2 wing backs 4 midfielders 2 strikers following issue is we don't have 4 strong midfielders nor 2 strikers. We could ask for special dispensation 😜

I'd be pretty similar to this. What worked last night was getting balls into the box from wide portions rather than through the middle. Slattery I'd potentially replace with Davor. He's off form and he get's nothing from the ref's, suspect he's created a bad rep with refs and manages to annoy every one. Like SOD Slattery is no real value during tough times. Potential to replace Bair/Wilkinson. I prefer Bair in the deeper midfield role as he works hard tracks back and gives the midfield energy.

Was just thinking the same - we need something in midfield
-
As should half this team
-
Difference is getting balls into the box from wide positions brilliant ball from gent
