  1. Pretty annoyed /frustrated - we were the better team , they were there for the taking . waiting til 89 mins to put Nicholson on is frankly poor mgt . feels like another 2 points dropped when we could and should be winning we’re in the habit of settling for a draw, super frustrating
  2. I don’t understand why Nicholson hasn’t come on yet - a player who can unlock things is exactly what we need
  3. Another week another early goal conceded Frustrated again
  4. Im glad Livingston are where they're at. As much as I don't think we'll continue the bad run of not winning any games I'm not confident we won't avoid the play-offs. Not being a doom/gloom monster . Things aren't going our way , small squad, injuries, quality loanee's being returned. Off field could be better with the temp CEO and Chairman looking for exit door. We've got out of dodge a few times in the last 10 years and feels like lots conspiring against us. Really hope we pull 4-5 decent results together to give us cushion.
  5. We went into the window with too small a squad . we left the window with an even smaller squad . we needed to improve several key areas centre backs - not done fullbacks - time will tell midfield - done forwards - unlikely to have improved Appreciate it’s a hard window , esp for strikers but a loaner or 2 wouldn’t have been that hard . Equally shocking re centre backs - not a hard role to fill
  6. Good news kvv will be at FP at the weekend bad news he won’t be in our dressing room if we can’t match up to st mirren or killie in terms of salary when we’re running small squad I seriously worry about our way forward as a club
  7. Been an interesting window so far . we started with a small squad , we’ve offloaded more than we’ve brought in . some of the signings appear v decent . hopefully a few more in today
  8. I don't know what expectations some of our fans have. We've signed a promising youngster who's making his way in the game and some think we're doomed before we've even seen him. He might be a decent footballer who offers the team more than just his scoring stats. Equally he's young and may well be what we need. I don't remember Scott McDonald having amazing stats before we signed him. It's a tough window, always is. We got shot of players not cutting it, we've brought in the type of prospect we wanted. Looks pretty reasonable bit of business all things considered
  9. The positive here is the fans would give him time and encouragement . be good to at least see what he has equally we need to bring in some quality - easier said than done
  10. Agree 100% Malpas was awful to watch but your right McLeish systemically ruined what took years to build Before doing the same at a host of other clubs
  11. no-one is happy about 1 win in 18 league games but half those games we got points from hence 9th in the league, which is about right for where we'd expect to be. If we finish this season 9th or better I'd be pretty happy in giving SK a 12 month rolling contract. SK has been given a tougher remit that other recent Well Managers. Reduce the squad and reduce the budget. He's made mistakes for sure, he's also remedied the mistakes by moving others on. I really dislike the position we as a club are in. After several decades in the SPL we're not progressing, the pipeline of young talent hasn't been as consistent, I'd like to give SK or someone similar a chance to prove out the long game. Scottish football overall is in a pretty sorry state, I don't think the clubs of similar size and stature are pulling away from us. I'm up for giving him time to rebuild.
  12. It was certainly tight. What's less for debate is the initial ball in, I'd like to have seen Mugabi or Butcher go and attack the ball. Im not sold on 3 centre halves approach as we continue to get caught like this. Appreciate we may just need better central defenders. Cheap goals need to stop. We've conceded 35 goals in 22 games.
  13. In terms of on or offside - Spittal who was out of shot as outside the post was playing everyone on. I agree Kellys view was obscured
  14. McGinn was quality as was Davor - both went about their business and didn’t put a foot wrong .
  15. I thought we deserved to win today and overall played well , particularly in the second half. It's not the win we'd have deserved but it's another point nudging us further away from Livingston. Appreciate the 1 league win in XX games comments. My thoughts are in the last 10 games played we've won 2. drawn 6 and lost 2. I don't think we should be jumping over the manager for this. We're 9th in the league which is probably about right for the size of our club. Of course I want to see us winning and with a bit more quality about us I think we will. With players coming back from injury and some reasonable new boys in we may just kick on and win a few games.
  16. Nicholson looks like a player with decent quality
  17. We’re by far the better team - just lacking quality in final third .
  18. Neither keeper has had much to do . Two evenly matched teams who offer very little quality moving forward
  19. Sorry to say that I think Butcher is done . Last season he made a massive difference but he’s a shadow of that player . whether it’s the injury or missing a pre season hard to say but he’s so far off the pace , take him off at half time
  20. Your observations are always spot on Mio gent is only player with any creative outlook on the game . last season we went back to 3 centre halves to shore up defence and it worked - this season it hasnt be happy to go back to 2 centre halves and put something , anything into midfield /attack
  21. Frustrating that we can’t do basic things such as attack the first ball from set pieces 3 centre halves for their goal and not one of them attacked the first ball. Another poor start
  22. It was a reasonable expectation for mugabi to run on to the ball - he wasn’t paying attention .
  23. Team pretty much picked itself - no other real options given where players are at with fitness and time with club. Fingers crossed Lady Luck smiles on us today.
  24. The Scottish Championship feels an obvious place to look and would think affordable (appreciate Utd may pay more) Likes of Watt & Moult have 17 goals between them this year with Utd. Both would be good enough to walk straight into our team. Similarly for this season I'd be happy with Kai Fotheringham Utd, Rauri Paton of Raith, the aging Bryan Graham Partick Thistle. A modest fee for likes of Rauri Paton who's scored 35 goals in last couple of years and is 23 years old looks like a decent type of player to go for and much better than Shields who was the last player we went for who'd only scored 8 goals for QOS.
