No harm to the guy, but he barely registers with me. He was here for less than half a season and moved on at the first opportunity. Obviously has a win over Rangers under his belt but even Kettlewell managed that the previous year.

Indeed, I get no satisfaction whatsoever seeing other provincial clubs doing well, it just annoys me that it isnât us. On a completely different note, should we manage to win the league cup (a very, very tall order I know) we can do so in the knowledge that we donât get European qualification as a result. For me personally and from what Iâve seen from your posts that is a big positive! We win a big shiny domestic trophy and we are spared the embarrassment/damp squib that the European âawardâ would inevitably bring. Happy days eh! đ

So do your jokesâŚâŚđ Yeah absolutely, get this Semi Final won and look forward to a pre-Christmas league cup final.
-
Yes of course. Realistically it is the best draw we could have hoped for at this stage as it gives us the best chance we could have hoped for to get to the final. And as I said last night we absolutely owe St.Mirren in a Cup tie so this would be perfect time to repay that debt so hopefully we send them, Robinson and their torn-faced boneheaded supporters slithering back along the M8 with their tails between their legs. I assume that common sense will prevail in terms of allocation and we get the East Stand for this one seeing as it would make no sense whatsoever in a geographical or practical sense for both supports to cross over each other and go to the far away end?
-
Speak for yourself. If St.Mirren are in the final I certainly wonât be cheering them on. If we canât have our âday in the sun(even though it will be mid-winter)â then I donât want any non OF club to have theirs.
-
Losing a Semi Final to St.Mirren can never just be shrugged off as water off a ducks back. It might not be Airdrie 1975(?) but it would still be a sore one to take.
-
Another blow to the muppets who pedal this nonsensical conspiracy that Cup draws are fixed to keep the Old Firm apart until the Final.

5.30pm on the Saturday night if the last few years are anything to go by! And there is no way the police will let the OF kick off at that time on a Saturday so I think itâs nailed on to be Sat 1st Nov. Itâs a good draw but losing to St.Mirren in a Semi Final would be ten times worse than losing to one of the big two.

1-2 defeat

Iâd prefer Partick Thistle. đ This could genuinely be our best chance to win the League Cup. Celtic are way below par, Hearts already out, Hibs (hopefully) out against Rangers tonight and (if not) Rangers in absolute disarray. And we owe St.Mirren big time in a knockout cup tie!

Totally deserved win and a great goal to clinch it. Off to Hampden for the second season running. Our year? It could well be. Finally, Get it right up Aberdeen and their obnoxious supporters. âAlexaâŚplay BBC Radio Scotlandâ

If we sit in we will concede, itâs a certainty.
-
Clearly settling for 1-0 which is a risky move.
-
Watching the replay that really is something special from Charles-Cooke. Thatâs what weâve been needing, someone who can strike from distance.
-
Beautiful from RCC! Now. Can we please, PLEASE hold this lead? đ

You donât say???

Another case of âWhat might have beenâ happening in front of our eyes right now. A poor game so far and two poor teams but the opportunities have been there and as usual not taken. Like the Hearts-Killie-Dundee trilogy in the league this is looking like another missed opportunity.

That would be the same âGrand Master Beatonâ that awarded Celtic a last minute penalty for next to nothing last week would it? You never know, with us resplendent in light blue today he might look upon us in a favourable manner⌠#handshakes #knowingnod #handsacrosstheM74

If we win up there with that team then weâre winning the League Cup this year. There, Iâve said it. **Spoiler alert..we wonât win up there today

I liked him and will be forever grateful for that season but under no circumstances would I want to see him be successful anywhere else.

And SOâD is in

I loved that season. The team werenât easy on the eye but by God they could grind out wins when it mattered and some big, big wins to celebrate and remember. Scudding Aberdeen at Fir Park then Louis Moult day against Rangers at Hampden in the league cup then beating Hearts in the SCQF with a Carl McHugh belter at the death to set up another rout of Aberdeen in the semis. That was a Motherwell side with character and bottle and as you say had we been up against what was one of the strongest Celtic sides in either final we would probably have won a trophy. I liked Robinson and respect him as a manager, but I hope he doesnât win a trophy with St.Mirren.

Personally I would take a win tomorrow and progression to the League Cup Semi Finals rather than three points in the league next Saturday. I appreciate that others will think differently but for me getting to the latter stages of one of the Cups trumps a solitary win in a league match.
