  1. It’s being reported that Matty Connelly is heading back to EK on loan, which I’m guessing means we’ve offered him a contract extension.
  2. He’s got a decent CV: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/max-rogers-34442042
  3. There’s a rumour on Twitter that Wimbledon are interested in Sparrow. Feels unlikely.
  4. Arrogance in a football manager is only ever useful when it’s balanced by self-awareness. Alexander has none. He’s an insufferable twat who humiliated us and still acts like he did nothing wrong.
  5. I’ve always believed Alexander to be an arrogant prick, and his sudden reappearance in this debate only confirms it. As for Kettlewell, his conduct around his Motherwell exit and the ensuing media charade revealed him to be both cowardly and dishonest. Given how both have singled out Motherwell fans as the villains in a sport full of difficult fanbases, I genuinely hope neither enjoys much success in their managerial careers.
  6. You’ve been duped by AI. The supposed ‘author’ is just a brand and not a real person. The books on multiple clubs are mass-produced and full of shite.
  7. Great to hear from the Chairman in this episode.
  8. According to Transfermarkt, this is Stuparević’s career so far: CF – 87 RW – 16 AM – 3 LW – 1 RM – 1
  9. Maswanhise definitely fits that mould on the left, but with this being Luca Ross’ first season in the first team and Nicholson likely set for another season on the physio table, we clearly need to bring in more attacking options. And you’re probably right about Stama being a second striker option.
  10. If you fling enough shit at a wall...
  11. Putting the SOD and McGinn debate to one side, our biggest issue in recent seasons has been a leaky defence when playing with three centre-backs and wingbacks. At present, we’ve no natural wingbacks and only a few senior centre-backs. A switch to a back four is long overdue, and hopefully JBA makes that change. It might even resolve the SOD/McGinn dilemma in the process.
  12. I’m not entirely sure why, but I’ve got a feeling JBA will prove to be a better manager than Wimmer. Though to be fair to Wimmer, his sample size is small. Maybe it’s because JBA has a clean slate, the chance to bring in several new players, and much of the dross has now been cleared out.
  13. Surely, with the incoming Miller millions, JBA will be backed to bring in a proven striker capable of 10–15 goals a season.
  14. It’s not that I doubt his commitment or ability. I just don’t think he’s the big, commanding centre forward we need (e.g. Bair or KVV). That said, maybe JBA can get more out of him this season, especially if we play a 4-3-3 with proper wingers to support him. Still, I suspect the manager will look to bring in a more physically dominant striker. Ultimately, I can’t see Stama still being here by the third year of his contract, especially if this season mirrors the last.
  15. He was probably just saying it’s another couple of weeks before his chocolate knees give out again.
  16. Unless he needs his wrist to run or kick a ball, he should be fully recovered and fit for pre-season.
  17. Summary of his first presser: Why Motherwell? Attracted by the club’s history, community focus, and modern ambitions. Background & Vision Brings European experience from Sparta Prague and Copenhagen. Aims to apply top-level standards at Fir Park. Squad & Transfers Significant rebuild needed. Will assess with staff and build gradually. Style of Play Wants high-intensity, possession-based football with structure and aggression. Goals No fixed targets, but sees top six as achievable. Emphasis on long-term stability. Scottish Football Views it as stylistically varied. Hopes to modernise Motherwell’s approach. Assistant Manager Recruitment ongoing; wants the right fit. Lennon Miller Aware of interest, will speak with him soon. Pre-season Underway with testing. Happy to have time to implement ideas.
  18. Koc out… https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2025/06/18/ahmet-koc-leaves-motherwell/ It was always going to happen. Best of luck to him.
  19. I'm sure he'll sign plenty of them regardless.
  20. He’s probably no better or worse than any other winger we might pick up from within Scotland. That said, most of his career has been spent in the lower leagues. Still, I can’t help but find it funny that Kettlewell has signed an attacking winger.
  21. Any update on whether his work permit’s been approved? The first team are back in for pre-season tomorrow, and we should be due a welcome interview with him soon as well.
  22. Stama probably falls into that category too, unfortunately. Based on what we've seen this season, it's hard to imagine him making any real impact over the next 2 years.
  23. Absolutely. Who needs quality when you can have quantity?
  24. That’s the thing. We’ve now got a chance to build a balanced squad and finally play players in their proper positions.
  25. I’ve got no issue with using loanees in principle, but I’ve raised concerns before about relying too heavily on them to build a squad. You’re right that there’s still plenty of time before the window closes, but that doesn’t change the fact that we should be aiming to go into pre-season and the League Cup with a near-complete squad, where feasible.
