  1. On Wilson, the positive is that being coached by JBA and learning alongside someone like Manny could really bring him on. Manny is clearly ahead of him just now, but Wilson has the attributes. He just needs the right coaching, a bit of confidence and the freedom to take players on and make mistakes. Johnny K also looks like he is starting to come good, which is a bit of a relief for everyone.
  2. Of the four League Cup games, this was clearly our best overall performance so far. We’re still very much a work in progress and remain two or three players short of having a solid squad. Bring on Friday night.
  3. Aye, they’re both as thick as mince and attract illiterate bigoted gimps.
  4. I think you’re referring to Elijah Just, who we signed from AC Horsens.
  5. What do you make of the potential midfield trio of Watt, Slattery, and Fadinger? I thought there were signs of a promising partnership starting to develop against Peterhead. I’d expect to see the same three start again against Morton.
  6. I completely agree. You can throw in the usual excuses too: plastic pitches, it being too hot or too wet. As if the opposition aren’t dealing with the exact same conditions.
  7. Hearing Kettlewell was/is the main reason behind all the crocks. Who could’ve possibly seen that coming?
  8. Delighted with the win, but that was a tough watch, especially the second half. Our general lack of end product in open play remains a real concern.
  9. I expect this game to be wide open. The toughest of our League Cup fixtures yet.
  10. None of the outfield players really stood out, so Matty gets my vote for his confidence and distribution. Not that he had much else to do. He’s certainly not the tallest keeper out there, but it’s clear he’s a baller with a footballing brain that JBA will appreciate.
  11. Speaking as a native, West Central Scotland has never exactly been a hotbed of reason and sensibility.
  12. Stenny have just this morning announced a raft of short-term signings to make up the numbers for their remaining League Cup games. If we can't pump this mob comfortably, I’ll be both surprised and pissed off. https://www.stenhousemuirfc.com/2025/07/19/warriors-there-is-no-better-game-day-feeling-than-adding-players-to-our-ranks/
  13. All Stenny have to do is be patient and we’ll gift them the inevitable goal or two. I still think we’ll come away with the win, though.
  14. We should be looking to win this game by at least 3-5 goals.
  15. If Stama can stay injury-free—which is a big if—I’d say he has until winter to prove his worth. Otherwise, it might be best for both player and club to explore options for moving him on.
  16. I’m neither tall nor overweight, yet Macron’s medium tops fit like a corset. Meanwhile, medium tops from other kit manufacturers back in the day still fit like gowns. I’m starting to think Macron is gaslighting us into believing we’re all fat bastards.
  17. Aside from the defence being shite — which most seem to agree on — some other issues last night were our tendency to overplay and the consistently poor final ball. Sorting the defence has to be the priority, but I reckon the other two will sort themselves out in time. I should add that Slattery’s cross for our second goal was great.
  18. Fadinger, with Watt a close second.
  19. Just home and not entirely sure what to make of that, so I’ll stick to the positives and negatives. Positives Watt and Fadinger look like tidy additions to the midfield. Connelly looked fairly comfortable on his first start — barely tested, but not at fault for their goal. Manny could be moulded into a diamond with time. Just is a tricky wee player who I reckon will be useful in certain games. Slattery’s cross for the goal. Negatives The defence. Again. Jesus Christ. Wilson — what on earth has happened to him? I’m not sure how Sparrow fits into this team now. Stama is either crap or not being used to his strengths. The rain.
  20. A bucket of sand is the recommended approach, not a face.
  21. We don’t know that he’s not making it a priority. He’s said himself the window’s open for almost two more months and that we should expect more movement.
  22. The exciting, progressive football is definitely a positive. But with that defence and keeper, the only way we’re winning games is by scoring 3 or 4, because they’re always good for conceding at least 1 or 2 soft goals.
  23. After that shambles in the plastic Sahara yesterday, anything short of a proper win on real grass won’t cut it.
