  1. We all need to accept that VAR simply doesn’t work for smaller teams. In Scotland, when most officials are either biased or incompetent, and subjectivity is allowed to operate a supposedly objective technology, smaller clubs have no chance of being treated fairly. It’s cheating, with the same people acting as judge, jury, and executioner. We won’t get fair refereeing in our game until bigotry and ignorance stop being tolerated, let alone celebrated.
  2. Clear penalty for Fadinger ignored by the ref and VAR. That is cheating, plain and simple.
  3. We’re not suddenly going to start being clinical in front of goal by Tuesday, and our style of play won’t change, so I expect this game to play out much like our loss to Rangers. Another decent but frustrating performance is likely.
  4. We’re a proper number 9 away from this being an outstanding season. Hopefully the board push the boat out and give JBA the backing to sign one in January. Otherwise, we’ll look back on this season and wonder what might have been.
  5. Can the Ox play centre-forward? He won’t need to use his knackered hand(s).
  6. Three points dropped after we gifted them a cheap 1–0. We were shite in the final third and full of laziness and individual errors today. Exactly the result we deserved. Credit to Ward and McGinn though, both were good.
  7. Longelo hasn’t defended well all game. He’s been repeatedly caught out of position, jogging about as I said earlier, and that’s what eventually led to their goal. Defensively he isn’t good enough, even if he does offer a threat going forward.
  8. Right, that’s it. Hendry is a donkey. On the other hand, Just is a bawhair away from being world-class.
  9. We’re riding our luck here a little now. Time for some subs.
  10. Too many players caught sleeping on the ball or jogging around aimlessly.
  11. The jury’s no longer out on Hendry. He’s every bit as ineffective up front as Stama.
  12. Chris Sutton is a full-pelt moron. Being a Celtic fan is basically membership of a delusional cult, so it’s no surprise he’s as thick as he sounds.
  13. If the last six months have taught us anything, it’s that JBA knows exactly what he’s doing at Motherwell, so I fully expect a good January transfer window.
  14. Fadinger. A really important player for our system. Constantly winning the ball back, looking for passes, and hauling us up the park when needed. That said, several other players were good today.
  15. Our final ball and finishing were crap for large spells, but that’s nothing new. Overall though, it was a professional performance and we got the job done. If we can hold onto our key players and sign a striker who knows where the goal is in January, we’re winning the league.
  16. Ian McCall has trashed whatever managerial credibility he once had by turning into a blithering, bitter idiot as a pundit. And let’s be honest, punditry isn’t a career. It’s just what he’s doing now that no one’s offering him a managerial job.
  17. Slattery and Priestman play different roles. Priestman is better suited to a defensive midfield double pivot, while Slattery is an attacking midfielder.
  18. If the club can sell booze, it should. And if you don’t want to buy booze, then don’t. We’re all adults, so the option should be there. The constant “don’t do it” approach usually has the opposite effect. Scotland’s alcohol licensing laws are, in general, far more restrictive than elsewhere, and that just encourages folk to fill their boots while they can, rather than pace themselves without fear of the tap being turned off, which in itself leads to more issues. That said, under the current proposals, not all stands have the infrastructure in place to sell booze during the game anyway. For me, I much prefer to meet up and have a few pints before and after the game in an actual pub, but I’d probably still buy a pint at the game if I could.
  19. It’s the effectiveness of the system, more than the individuals in the back four or the goalkeeper, that prevents goals being conceded.
  20. He should be the first name on Cardiff’s team sheet. He’ll be back, but not anytime soon.
  21. Yep. He’s a clever player and we all know this.
  22. Turnbull is the only one in that Cardiff team with a footballing brain.
  23. Turnbull would be an ideal fit as a central attacking midfielder in JBA’s 4-2-3-1. That said, the rumour is probably complete bollocks.
