  1. Given the cost of living crisis meaning everything is now ridiculously expensive, if that scenario played out, I imagine folk would quickly start to get bored of paying good money to watch a bunch of useless imposters get their team relegated. None of what I suggested was about switching allegiances, it was more about people likely becoming unwilling to part with their cash for little to no positive reward or even minimal enjoyment. A percentage of our support would likely start to follow from afar. It's not difficult to imagine that play out given the context.
  2. I expect a Levein 4-6-0 masterclass will see their swollen yet well-organised midfield dance through our disorganised and weak squad.
  3. Some people need to give their heads a wobble and realise that a business decision has to be made here. We're in freefall and have been for a while, and inaction will see us relegated. Putting the poor results aside, the majority of signings and player movements in/out have been questionable, to say the least, and as awful as our form, to put it accurately. With that in mind, to give Kettlewell and Daws another transfer window would be a grossly negligent use of funds. It's that simple to me. Whether that means replacing Kettlewell or Daws (or both), the decision is down to the Board, and they must act before it's too late.
  4. Giving Kettlewell the January window (to likely fuck up again) would be like gifting gloves to an armless man. If that happens, and we go down, I don't think many fans could forgive the Board and will act with their feet and wallets by taking them elsewhere.
  5. I don't think we need another young and ambitious guy. We need someone with experience and a modicum of proven ability at a similar level.
  6. If Kettlewell is still in charge (he shouldn't be) and we suffer defeat at home, it'll be upsettingly ugly, and that 'blood' will be on the Board's hands.
  7. That is the only silver lining here, and it also means we're unlikely to be willing to offer his replacement anything more than 18 months until we're confident that we're out of this current rinse/repeat cycle.
  8. You're right, and I was pissed off. The defeat was disastrous, which we both acknowledged would be the case should that happen.
  9. No, I was pissed off, although I wish I was pished instead.
  10. You should pause this thread as I bet the Board fails to act (again) and Kettlewell gets the St Johnstone game to throw more darts at a map.
  11. I think we could both agree that there is a very fine line between defeatism/fatalism and realism. It doesn't have to be extreme; surely we can have something better without requiring significant investment because it can't go on as is and we don't have a magic money tree. To be clear, I wouldn't trust the Board to employ the right persons to fix the toilets in the stadium, but they're currently the only Board we have. So, and perhaps I'll be wrong on this, we do need them to employ a semi-competent and football-minded CEO who will hopefully negate their need to get overly involved in footballing decisions anymore. Then the mistakes of the recent past and present may finally become mistakes of the past, not to be repeated again and again, again.
  12. Yes, the players were shite, and he calls that out, but he also set them up to be a farce tonight. And then he takes zero ownership for the defeat, or the poor run, in what I hope is his final interview as our manager.
  13. Just because I don't have the perfect answers to the issues at play doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to express a view on them on a public forum. Don't be so defeatist and challenging. A magical fairy certainly isn't going to appoint a permanent CEO, so, of course, I have to accept that it may well be the current Board who selects a potential CEO, as the Board isn't going to sack itself in the morning, is it?!
  14. I don't know...maybe George fucking Jetson, as he has his head in the clouds as much as the current Board seems to have.
  15. A permanent CEO and a 5 to 10-year strategy that is appropriately resourced and communicated would be a start. Or, quite frankly, anything that isn't what's been happening recently.
  16. It may be broken, but that farce tonight was on the manager. However, that doesn't mean that the club doesn't need a complete overhaul.
  17. No doubt the Board will promote from within again and we'll be in the same position again next year.
  18. The Board made the same mistake with Alexander.
  19. No, we won't. We're now 9th and four points off the bottom, and the three teams below us have a combined seven games in hand. We are plummeting.
  20. Then we'll continue to sleepwalk into the Championship.
  21. The writing has been on the wall for weeks - as several of us have noted here - but those in control of the club are useless and have been for some time.
  22. In all seriousness, whoever gets the job next must be experienced but willing to take it on a 6-month basis, with the potential of an extra year if they save us from relegation.
