The conditions for football were rank rotten yesterday, but that doesn't excuse so of the awful football from both sides. There was a point when Stuart Duff has the easiest pass in the world to Foran and he was in on goal and the guy hit it about ten yards to far by him. Also Foran with all the time in the world to throw in a cross scuffed it of his ankle. Then there was our terrible passing in the final third. I think Jennings must have passed to more ICT players and Motherwell ones. Its when you see all this in front of you, then you have to start questioning the standard of our game. Both teams struggled to put together more than four passes in a row or needed at least two to three touches to get the ball under control. Christ thats what I need to do when I am playing football. The difference is I don't get paid a grand a week for it. The only positive from yesterday was that Shaun Huchinson is the real deal and actually looks like a footballer. It is all doom and gloom and the only solution is for the SPL, SFA and whoever else is in that big thick soup of administration, to get the cost of the game down and try and bring in more money to help the game. The fact that the quality has gone down, but the price has gone up is the reason the attendances have fallen. In any other business the company would end up going bust if they continued down the same road. All this talk of league reconstruction does nothing to hide the fact we have players in our top division that would struggle in League 2 in England. I don't understand why we don't send all the SFA cronies to Norway and come back with a blue print exactly like their league and action it. Unless something happens quick its Game Over.

This is a total myth. All money we make on gates, tv, strips, food etc probably just covers the cost of running the club. Only money from the sale of players can go towards a new player. Basically we need to sell Reynolds to make any signings in the transfer market or get some free transfers which is tricky in january.

At the start of the season we had Blackman, Murphy, Sutton and the Humph all playing in forward positions. We also had McCugh on the bench. To me that seemed like enough attacking options for a club our size. Now that both of them seem to be on there way shows that it was a bad move in the transfer market.

We have beaten Dundee Utd twice this season and both times we played them I thought they were very poor. They huff and puff and try to stop you play which is a pretty rank rotten way to play the game. If we get an early goal then I think we could be in for a comfortable night, but it might end up being a draw if we can't break them down. I'll stump for a narrow 1-0 win.

You must have spent a fair bit of time writing this tosh. How do you know that McCall didn't just go into training and say "Right that boy Murphy should be up front with a target man like Sutton" and "That Hately looks like a tidy RB stick him in there." Maybe he knows about fitbaw and didn't just get lucky.

The thing is with Fitzpatrick when he arrived on the scene at Motherwell we really thought we had found a cracking player and then over the last 5 years he has been in and out with injuries and never really had a decent run in the team. Also when he has started to get a decent run we have seen how his performances improved. He is also a decent goal threat. I say give him the next 6 months and then see where he is then.

What about the lower leagues? Probably the same level of attendace as the SPL and they seem to be coping fine. Also what does the population of the country have to do with the size of a league. The fans are still there. 1 Dunfermline 2 Dundee 3 Raith Rovers 4 Falkirk 5 Queen of South 6 Partick Thistle 7 Cowdenbeath 8 Ross County Here is the current top 8 teams in the 1st Division. Apart from Cowdenbeath all of those teams would not look out of place in the SPL. The more I think about it the more I am warming to a 20 team league.

Why don't we just mirror the English Premier league? Two leagues of 20 teams. Play each other twice. Play off at the end of the season? This would increases attendances across the board and also give smaller clubs access to much larger attandences when playing the OF, Hearts Hibs, Aberdeen etc. It would also keep supporters interested as it will be a different teams most weeks. We seem to be stuck in this bizarre world where the benefits of playing the OF four times a season over rules everything else, but the main problem is in fact the boredom factor of playing teams like Accies and St Mirren all the time. All the clubs in the SPL figure each other out by Christmas!
