I'm no into this McGhee bashing shite. the guy did brilliant for us. Finishing third, our euro adventure and also the handling of Phils death. he may have had a anti climax of a final season, but I wish him no ill feelings at all. to be fair though his behavior around the Hearts, Scotland, Aberdeen and Celtic jobs was pretty shite, but that's that nature of the game. If Gannon has an amazing season for us and some EPL teams starts sniffing about then he might do a McGhee. We are very fickle us football fans.

They (Unirea) have taken that lad from Morton - McCallister on loan with a view to him being in their first team. As for the game against Steaua, I think we will struggle, but if we play anything like we did against Flamaturi then you never know what might happen.

Special mention must be for Sutton who himself didn't get on the score sheet, but played one of his best games in a Motherwell shirt. Outstanding.

Fucking magic tonight. Very impressed with Forbes and Slane, but also thought Hutchison looks like he could be a real find - very composed at the back. Slane will become a star though. The boy is going to really shock some of the SPL teams this season. Gannon had the right idea tonight. He realised they were pretty poor so just went on the attack. Stick O'Brien at right back for more options going forward and play two at the back = a 8-1 victory. If only it was always this easy!

I would still have Hammell at left back and put Reynolds in midfield, but what the fuck do I know. The manager stumped us all with his formation and ended up winning 8-1. From now on I am just going to accept his word as gospel.

I actually think we under estimate how our league is viewed in other nations. Players in league 1 and 2 see the SPL as a huge step up in terms of profile and quality of football. They will be looking at guys like McCormack, O'Conner, Beattie, McFadden, Easton, Gordon and McCarthy and thinking if I perform well in the SPL I could be playing in the EPL in a few years. When you look at how many players are leaving the SPL and going on to bigger things then we must say we are doing something right up here. All depends on how good the players that Gannon signs really are though.

Yeah Flamaturi have kwon for a month they would be coming to the UK. Seems they have basically just forgot. I really doubt they will be able to get over in time. Watched about 20 mins of the first half on a laptop in a Manchester hotel and I thought we were pretty good! Played the ball about, slane looked very impressive and young Forbe was playing some excellent passes. Anyone on here who can criticise the players when playing in such intense heat is quite frankly a bawbag. We were very unlucky and if we can play like today with another weeks training I am confident we can turn them over in Airdrie. That statement from the club is rather confusing. If we have enough strips for the squad then fair enought, but is the selling of Motherwell merchandise not only a huge revenue stream for the club, but alos Provan sports. If there are no strips to sell then what happens?

The question is, are Flamaturi better than Llanelli? I would say they are. It will be a really tricky tie out there. Will be roasting, a hostile crowd and a lot of inexperienced players. We will probably get beaten. At Aidrie it will be a different matter. Overall its going to be a close one, but I think we have the quality to overcome them.
