  1. Haven't read all the comments, but i take it the players are getting off with it, and it's all McGhee's fault? These "professional" players are underperforming yet again, some of whom are on at least their 3rd manager. And yet some are moaning about tactics? Do me a favour. There's some things you just can't coach. Desire, fight, will to win, pride in your performance. Some of these "senior" players and letting the club down, again, and are happy to stand back and the let the manager take the hit, again. Still, good to see Louis Moult change the game when he came on. Imagine dropping him in the first place, eh?

    Mark McGhee

Should have been Valakari, eh? Make sure you don't spill any of that porridge tomorrow.
  3. I'd love to see us go with O'neils40yarder's team. I can't see McGhee going for it tomorow though. Swapping Pearson for Lasley (considering the former's suspension) could be a goer for Tuesday at Tannadice, however.
  4. Would you like hour by hour updates from the club, or is checking in with you once a day more suitable? "Deafening silence". FFS! I'm sure if/when there's something to tell, the club will announce it.
  5. I see Simo Valakari is now the greatest manager we've never had. Great stuff.
  6. Scott Burns is generally on the ball when it comes to Motherwell news. However, like others have said, there will be others after him too. Have been impressed with him in the few clips i've watched. Would be interesting to see, if this comes off, how he would handle the step up.
  7. It looks to me as if McGhee is trying to get some positive PR for himself in with the Higdon chat - and still making a mess of it! Alan Burrows confirmed fairly early doors on deadline day that the Higdon deal was a non-starter due to the two-club rule.
  8. What about the assailant who attacked Lee McCulloch - is he still at large?
  9. Is there any evidence of this magic crowd increase happening previously? As Lobey said, I think people are getting bored of this. From a playing side, it'll be as pointless as the David Clarkson singing.
  10. None of them are actually midfielders, but aye, why not give them a go... May as well stick Wes Fletcher in the middle of the park for his height too.
  11. It's a Scottish Cup game, not a testimonial. McFadden should be nowhere near the starting XI.
  12. I would never say I was "delighted" with such an outcome, but the boy only has himself to blame. His choices, and his alone, put him in the postion he has found himself in. When that happens, his future is then out of his hands, which is not a good place to be. Is the sentence harsh? Perhaps, but it's very simple - don't do things you're not meant to and you won't find yourself up in court.
  13. It was a Dutchman, wasn't it?
  14. Gomis in for Lasley would be the only change I'd make from Saturday. Lasley is 36 now, so we can't be relying on him for every game anymore. Hoping we can sneak a victory, but I'd settle for a 1-1 draw.
  15. Isn't he out of contract in the summer? Surely not getting that much if so.
  16. A wee bonus for us as well, considering we've got Inverness on Saturday!
  17. Can't see it happening of course, but very much this.
  18. Hopefully we can push the Tam Scobbie deal over the line. He can play in a few positions over defence and midfield, so it'll be good cover. With St. Johnstone losing in the semi-final, it should be all systems go for this deal now.
  19. Also amazed at the criticism of Stevie Hammell. Aye, the last 18 months or so haven't been kind to him injury wise, but when you consider the amount of football he's played since he came into the first team at 17, it was going to catch up with him eventually. Even still, we are a far, far better team with Hammell in it. I think it'll be a long time before we find a player able to replace him. As far the rumoured departures, I would imagine Twardzik is a strong contender to be released from his deal. I'd assume a couple of the youngers ones out on loan too, with Watt and Thomas being the best bets.
  20. Exeter will have made a good few quid from their two televised games against Liverpool recently. To think they've thought that Jake Taylor woud be a good way to spend some of that cash... Oh dear! I don't think I ever saw him doing anything bad on the park, but that's basically because he'd spend the entire time making sure he wasn't involved in the play. Back down the road as hide n seek champion!
  21. Simply didn't work out for either party. Best for all that he moved on. Hopefully the money saved on wages can be reinvested.
