  1. I'm of the understanding we are budgeting for 10th. Therefore, I'd say a game/games against Celtic and Rangers after the split would been seen as a bonus, rather than essential.
  2. I'm sorry, but not having that from Alan Burrows. The fixtures, based on last season's fixures, should have been easy enough to predict. With Rangers effectively taking the place of Dundee Utd, he should have known at the very least it was possible we'd have Celtic and Rangers at home only once pre-split. In fact, it was probable. Again, having the layout of the fixtures changed to suit Rangers and Celtic, or has Ya Beezer pointed out, changed to suit others milking their fans, is wrong.
  3. The last four seasons with no Rangers in the top flight have went swimmingly, and we've survived just fine. Why people want the fixture list tampered with so we can have extra games at Fir Park against Rangers or Celtic, I do not know. If you're so desperate to have bumper away crowds at games, then you'll be in for a treat next season. That's how they work. "Commercially unfair". Jesus wept...
  4. So what are you suggesting here? Should Ben Hall not have been given an opportunity in the first team because he only had five months left on his contract? Or that he shouldn't have been given a first team place until he signed a long term deal, despite never appearing for the first team at that point? I don't think you quite understand the difference between 'fuming' and disappointed.
  5. Didn't we sell Jim Paterson to Plymouth for £250k? On the same day we brought Hammell back.
  6. I agree with this. £100k is also the difference for each league placing, isn't it? I'd be happy to take the chance and be confident we'd finish at least one place higher with Pearson in the team than we would without.
  7. Who the fuck is this zoomer? You must be some laugh on a night out, eh?
  8. That's not fair, Joe. Hid say they could have two weeks in Torremolinos...
  9. It really isn't. I can't see many of the U20's being up to scratch if they're dead, tbh.

    League Cup 2016/17

Aye, the ticket scramble chat was very much tongue in cheek. I've never known of one involving Motherwell. Ibrox last year was the closest, but like you say, there were some still floating about on the day of the game.

  14. The thing I don't quite get is, where exactly do the players think they'll get a similar kind of contract? Hammell is 34 years old, and has had the best part of 18 months of injury problems. Keith Lasley will be 37 not long after the season starts. Fair play to them for trying to get the best deals they can, but there has to be a sense of realism in there.
  15. Is he finally going to make that No.10 position his own? Goals 3 & 4 won't be too far away, I'm sure...
  16. If anyone has any spare indigestion tablets kicking about, please can you forward them to thisGRAEME. He appears to have swallowed a thesaurus... Fucking juxtaposition!
  17. League 2 Plymouth Argyle are not shelling out half a million on a player who can't get a game for Motherwell and is in the final year of his contract. Silly season right enough.

Where's the advantage of being top seeds if we end up away from home to the second seeds?

    League Cup 2016/17

There is no Europa place for the 4th placed team, currently. The three Europa spots go to the Cup winners, 2nd and 3rd place. I can't see clubs voting to give up a European league place to give to a Cup, particularly with Rangers in the league now (only a matter of time until it's Celtic/Rangers 1-2 evey season). Not even sure if UEFA would allow it, anyway.

  22. If there was 1 post that could sum up your total of 1,838 posts on this forum, this is it.
  23. Jay in charge would be a laugh. Every meeting it would be £1 a pint at the bar, 50p a vodka and everyone would end up rat arsed. Vote Jay!
  24. What was the crowd for Lasley's testimonial? About 2000? That was for the current Motherwell captain. I very much doubt a crowd would come out for a guy who a full generation of Motherwell fans will have never seen play at any club, never mind Motherwell. Ally got plenty of recognition from the fans over the last week at the nights held by the club. His contributiton to the club won't be forgotten, but it's a long time ago now. Time to move on.
