  1. That's plenty. Can we give the James McFadden chat a rest now? He's not coming back, get over it.
  2. Clarkson scored 9 goals for Dundee last season, in what, 20-odd games? If he can replicate that for Motherwell this season, with the majority of his appearences, I assume, off the bench, then we're laughing. A low-risk signing who knows the club well. He'll come in and give us options. I don't actually see any negative here.
  3. Hopefully he takes Dan Twardzik back to Aberdeen with him.
  4. I appreciate Ainsworth can be a frustrating player to watch, but he's contributed 20 goals and 20 assists in two seasons for Motherwell. That's incredible at our level. Motherwell should be doing all they can to get him tied up on a long term deal.
  5. You certainly are exaggerating! World class management? Behave yourself. No question, McCall done well. However, considering he made those achievements whilst having a substantial budget (by Motherwell standards) and doing it when the league was as poor as it probably ever has been (Rangers oot, Hearts/Hibs on their arse, Aberdeen only coming back last couple of years) means he doesn't quite reach "world class" level in my book.
  6. Any more friendlies being announced? Other than our trip to Holland, we only have the Livingston game. I'd expect games to be played in the midweek of 21st/22nd and the weekend of 25th/26th. Anyone heard anything?
  7. I'd have expected the bidding to start at £2m if he was English... As he's Scottish, it'll end up being less than half that. I'd be surprised, pleasently, if we do have a sell-on clause. Considering he was sold with only a few months left of his contract remaining, we would have no virtually no room for negotiation, or to make any demands in the sale.
  8. When do Inverness play their Europa League qualifiers? Wil our game be moved to the Sunday?
  9. I thought the hold-up was due to tieing up a new sponsor? I hope the chat regarding a C&A away top is just wishful thinking from sum. I prefer a proper change strip, either white or black (or blue as the case was a couple of years back) with subtle flashes of C&A. In saying that, if Motherwell wish to re-create the sublime "tractor" top from the early 90's, i'll take it!
  10. Dougie Arnott must have scored more than Sutton, no?
  11. He had a very young child in his arms in the post-game lap of honour on Sunday. Could be a reason for wanting to head closer to home. He would be a big miss if he were to leave, but he certainly put himself in the shop window with his goals against Rangers.
  12. Well that's VERY kind of you Dewell
  13. Everything is looking up lads. Josh Law has signed a new 2 year deal...
  14. Aye, we've tried Dundee's 3rd choice keeper. Why not their 2nd choice? FFS!
  15. I'm sure I heard that in the commentary too. I think it's the second leg he misses, although happy to be corrected. Hopefully they bring in Mohsni

    Starting Now!

I think what Bop means is Rangers don't play with wide midfielders. The four across the middle were Law, Murdoch, Shiels and Vuckic. If we can stick three in the middle of the park, and try and get Ainsworth and Johnson going at Wallace and Foster, I'd be confident or doing some damage. But aye, no doubt Conor Grant stuck out wide right and two up front not getting a sniff.
  17. Aw naw, how will we cope? It'll be tough to find a replacement right-back to be fair...
  18. This is my worry. If we go 4-4-2 at Ibrox next week, we'll get hammered.
  19. I sincerely hope, and pray, you are right. As much as I want us to stay up, I could accept being relagated by Hibs. If it were to be Rangers, and Stuart McCall, who sent us down, it would be utterly, utterly devastating. Something which would take years to get over.

    Baraclough Out

Couldn't have worded it better myself. Anyone for a game of FootGolf?

    Josh Law

I don't think it ever was a valid comparison. However, if we didn't sign Josh Law and offered another year to an injury-prone, has-been McFadden (on a higher wage I'd imagine), I doubt our season would have been any better.
  22. I don't see how making him sit on a bench every Saturday is going to make him any more ready. If he's good enough, get him in the team. I would assume the management feel he is, considering he got a 3-year deal, so let's give him a run in the side. It's worked for a number of young defenders in the past. Hammell, Paul Quinn, Mark Reynolds to name a few. Law has done ok (otherwise known as being the least shite of the back 4), but I'd get rid, along with Ramsden & Reid.
  23. I wouldn't particularly call Stephen McManus a boy...

    Mfc Podcast

Listened to the first half hour on the way to work. Agree, he does come across as still having plenty of time for Motherwell. Good to hear. He seems to have made his debut in four different games though...
