See, this "rule" really pisses me off....When has it been the case that each club has played 19 home, 19 away every season? Only two certain clubs have ever had this advantage. Wonder who they are? Since the SPL began, Aberdeen have had to play 18/20 once and 20/18 twice, with Livingston, Saint Johnstone, Inverness (18/20, then 20/18), Kilmarnock (18/20, 20/18) and Gretna 18/20. Do all clubs play 19 home games and 19 away games? Yes. Will some clubs play certain opponents three times at home and once away or vice versa? Yes. Unfortunately, this has to happen to ensure all clubs play 19 games at home and away which is the priority. In the top six, Hibernian need to ‘gain’ one home game and Hearts need to ‘lose’ one to ensure a 19 home/19 away balance. In the bottom six, Kilmarnock and Inverness CT both need to gain a game with Hamilton and Falkirk needing to lose a game.

Falkirk A Saint Mirren A INverness H Hamilton A Kilmarnock H Killie twice? Where did you see that....

1-3 to the Visitors at Easter Road. Like most of us thought, Hibs wouldn't even get a draw.........
-
Gave it to Hughes, though if Busta's name was there, he'd get the vote for that shout. No wonder Haining took so long to recover from his recent injury with her as his "nurse"..............

I was amazed in January that no-one took a chance and snapped up Dorman. Indeed, when he signed for Saint Mirren I was surprised then as he had a very good reputation behind him. Superb striker of the ball, and won't be at Love Street next season (or whatever they call it now). Wish we'd taken a chance on him, always impressed me.

I remember, as I'm sure a lot of us will, the season after we won the cup. It was, like this season, a big downer compared to the previous year and folk were demanding McLean went and big changes happened. Just a couple of seasons later we had our best season for decadesWITH McLean in charge. Anything less than a repeat of last season would have been a disappointment, and given that period before Christmas, this season has probably been a success if you take that into consideration. We gave ourselves a chance of the top six when, just 3 months ago, we were bottom and looking certs to be fighting for survival. So, whilst today has been a downer, the bigger picture is we are doing all right. As a Motherwell fan we have just gotta dust ourselves down and look forward. We'll top six again, we'll Europe again, we'll win a cup some time in the future. It's what we do.

We're In Line For A Uefa Place Just Now........
Rickoza replied to mfcsuperwell's topic in Club Chat
Well, if we are still in with a shout, no bookings today. Saint Mirren were lucky to just have two...bookings that is. One could well have been a straight red. -
For some reason the SPL are insisting on only releasing the last five fixtures of the season after tomorrow's game at Easter Road. Quite what the point in that is only they know.
-
Remember we are in the SPL. ANY combination is possible....
-
I'd be quite happy to take that smile off your face with relegating you on the last day of the season.....
-
Dreadful. Looked like we almost expected the points to come to us rather than go and get them. Only when we went two behind did it look possible we might even score. Subs wrong today. Tactics wrong today. Oh dear, still, top of the bottom six to go for..........-)
-
Wouldn't disagree with it. Been a big disappointment really, apart from two stunning free-kicks I've always been displeased with his effort or lack thereof sometimes.
-
Worst guestimates seem to be around £300,000 or thereabouts so it's certainly financial.
-
Anyone enter the competition taking place at half-time tomorrow and get selected? Wondering who the lucky winners were...
-
This would be interesting. Particularly as Hibs are due to be hit with suspensions to Nish, Jones and Bamba the first game after the split....which would be a play-off if it happened.

Coach tells Baron Greenback to shut the feck up..... However, Quinn insists Motherwell have the characters to cope with the importance of the game. The full-back feared his career had ended before it began after 19 Motherwell players lost their jobs when the club went into administration seven years ago this month. So the 23-year-old has told Paatelainen Saturday's match at Fir Park holds no fears. "We are not interested in what he has got to say," Quinn said. "We are not going to worry about pressure. "If we fail on Saturday, it will not be because Mixu Paatelainen says we are feeling the pressure, it will be because we haven't performed well enough. "If we play well, we don't have to worry about pressure. "I was standing here one day when a lot of players got made redundant, when they had to go and see their wives and kids and say, 'We don't have any wages'. "That's pressure. We were 16 and having to go out and play and crowds were wanting to know why the first-team players weren't playing. "That's pressure, not playing for the luxury of the top six." Quinn, whose side finished third last season, added: "There are huge characters in the dressing room. We thrive on it, people save their best games for these situations. "Mixu is obviously trying to throw a wee spanner in the works, but that's not something we are going to get involved in. "Mixu can take care of his team and we can take care of ourselves." Motherwell manager Mark McGhee was equally unconcerned by his Hibs counterpart's comments. "I really could not care less," McGhee told Clyde 1. "What Mixu Paatelainen says will not affect the performance of my players on Saturday. "I do believe that if we beat St Mirren, it will be as good as all over, because I can't see Hibs beating Rangers." Saints are in good form though after dominating Monday night's 1-1 draw against Hibs, which kept Motherwell's top-six hopes alive. Quinn said: "They certainly played excellent football on Monday, they were outstanding. "Hibs had a good five or 10-minute spell in the second half but, other than that, it's up there with the most one-sided games I've seen in the SPL. "If Rangers can go and do that to Hibs on Sunday, we will be very happy." Motherwell are hoping for a bumper crowd after reducing all admission prices to £5 but Quinn insists they would be fired up even in front of an empty stadium. "We like it when the atmosphere is better but we could play behind closed doors and be up for this," he said. var addthis_pub="andymorgan"; var addthis_brand = "ComeOnBoro.com"; var addthis_options = 'email, aim, aolfav, ask, backflip, ballhype, blinklist, blogmarks, bluedot, buzz, delicious, digg, diigo, facebook, favorites, fark, feedmelinks, friendfeed, furl, google, kaboodle, kirtsy, linkedin, live, magnolia, misterwong, mixx, multiply, myweb, myspace, netvous, newsvine, propeller, reddit, segnalo, sharedstuff, slashdot, spurl, stumbleupon, stylehive, tailrank, technorati, thisnext, twitter, yardbarker, yahoobkm, more';

I really would be speechless if Hibs managed even a draw on Sunday. They really were rank on Monday night, and will be missing Fletcher from what I hear who was their only real threat at Paisley. Of course we have to win, just feel we will need it a bit more than they will given Falkirk are worse.

Was on the BBC. I'd bet Hamilton were the SPL club, do just about anything to increase their cash intake from what I hear.
-
I'd agree, if you could get him fit and get him signed, he'd be a fantastic addition I feel.

Not that there was any truth in it anyway, but seems Clyde now have things sorted....for now... Clyde agree Broadwood rent deal North Lanarkshire Council claim Clyde have not paid the rent on the stadium Clyde's future has been secured after Broadwood Stadium Ltd agreed to allow the First Division club to continue using the ground for home matches. The Bully Wee faced eviction on 26 April over unpaid debts of £140,000. But the club's rent arrears will be reduced by £40,000 immediately and the remainder paid over the next 19 months. Jim Logue, Broadwood Stadium Ltd chairman, said: "We have finally been able to reach an agreement and Clyde will continue to use our facilities." Meanwhile, next month's Scotland B international against Northern Ireland will now go ahead at Broadwood, despite fears that the eviction notice would require the Scottish Football Association to seek an alternative venue. Logue welcomed the deal, adding: "We have worked very hard throughout the last few months to reach an understanding based on a robust business plan that meets the stadium's financial criteria," said Logue. We now look forward to working closely with Clyde and encouraging the team and supporters in the new season Jim Logue Broadwood Stadium Ltd chairman "This has now been presented by Clyde and accepted as feasible by both our legal advisors and accountants. "As we made clear throughout these negotiations, there was no hidden agenda or desire to force Clyde FC to leave the stadium. "We did, however, have a legal responsibility to ensure that Broadwood Stadium Company was not operating illegally by allowing Clyde's outstanding arrears to continue to spiral." Logue added: "We now look forward to working closely with Clyde and encouraging the team and supporters in the new season." Clyde director John Alexander said: "We are delighted to have reached an agreement with Broadwood Stadium that allows the club continue playing at Cumbernauld."

Would definetly be great to get one up on Putalineoan. Moaning faced ar*e who is perhaps the most unsporting of managers in the league.

48000 sell-out at City on Thursday. Be a good idea, as if we win I'm confident we are there.
-
I can't see Rangers losing to that Hibs side on Sunday. We can win on Saturday, and we will. Funny how we were depending on one half of the Old Squirm at the end of last season, now we need the other lot to do us a wee favour!

I searched and searched for a Paul Keegan reference and this was the only one I could find! Anyway, came across this rather good goal he scored once....honest, it's him.....
