Any team can win any match on any given day. Yes it would be unlikely, but just imagine how we'll all feel on Sunday night if the Well can do it......
-
I've never known such aparthy in the lead up to a semi final. When I think back to the Easter Road semi in 2005 the old 'welltrustfc' boards were jumping! I know things haven't been that great recently, but this is a chance for us to enjoy a day oot at Hampden roaring the lads on. We don't get enough of those to be low-key about them! I'm right up for the match, despite Perth on Wednesday! Mind you we've never had good results prior to our most recent semis, so it should have no bearing on Sunday's match. Its fifty years since we beat this mob in the cup, and we've never beat them at Hampden. What an opportunity to re-write history.... MON THE WELL!!!!!
-
Perhaps many folk are waiting until pay day before buying their tickets, which are on sale until Saturday I think. Reckon we'll have a minimum of 4000 at Hampden, hopefully more though. If there's 20,000 there then we will out-shout the blue filth. Let's make an impact in the stand whatever happens on the pitch.

A number of good performers today, but my vote went to Hammell who defended well, and of course laid on both goals.
-
Terrific result today, and a very professional performance by the lads. We attacked well, fought well in midfield and defended very well throughout. Its true to say that Hibs were rank rotten but we still had to win the match. Jones enjoyed a solid debut, some good touches and I think he'll show up even better with match fitness. The nalty miss was crucial, a goal for the Hibees then would've changed the whole dynamic of the match. Thankfully 'Prince' made a James Hunt of it! Have to compliment Stuarty for a great tactical switch when he brought on Jonny Page to man-mark wee Zemmama. He was finding space too often but after the substitution he wasn't seen again. Well done lads, good show all round!
-
This is probably for most neutrals a stick-on draw, whereas us Well fans will expect defeat given how poor Hibs have been, whilst the Hibees will be full of doom and gloom themselves! So who will be right?!! Team-wise I reckon Jones will debut from the start, but Grella will have to make do with a spot on the bench. I expect the following side to start tomorrow: Randolph Hateley Hutchinson Craigan Hammell Humphrey Lasley Jennings Jones Murphy Sutton It has all the hallmarks of a dour struggle, but I reckon we can pinch it 1-0.

Very sad news indeed, thoughts with your family at this time. RIP Wellworn.

Aye that Clyde cup tie was a killer. 3-1 up and cruising, then Nevin ripped us apart. Horrendous OG by Flavell put them ahead in extra time, and who can forget the mad goalline scramble right at the death that confirmed our defeat?!! It was my first full season going to games, saw only three wins in the eleven games I was at!

You ARE able to just buy adults tickets for behind the goals at £15. That's what we did.
-
There's no doubt that 'Watty' fully deserves his move, and I think he'll do very well at Hillsborough. I'm sure Wednesday will be back in the Championship sooner rather than later, and I've no doubt that Mark Reynolds will be a major part of that. Good Luck mate.

Hutch was pretty solid on his first appearance of the season, but for me Randy was our MOTM. Some great saves and a very commanding performance.
-
It was a very dour game in the main, with both teams having wee spells of pressure but neither side doing enough to deserve the win. From a Motherwell point of view we did defend pretty well for most of the game, and big Randy had a few great stops. Going forward we didn't show much to be honest, apart from a few bursts here and there. Its clear we desperately need attacking reinforcements as thats now 404 minutes since our last SPL goal. Happy with a clean sheet, as on many occasions we could've lost a sloppy goal and got nothing, so that is one positive at least.
-
Unless we can bring someone in I don't forseee any changes for tomorrow. The only one I'd like to see is switching Hump to left wing, playing Hateley wide right and playing Page at right back to counter ICT's height. Whether McCall does is another matter, probably not. I think it'd work though. It will probably be very close tomorrow, with few goals. The safe bet is 1-1 but my positivity forces me to say 2-1 Well!!
-
Same team as Sunday for me, unless of course Fitzy decided to leave. In that case Forbes would probably start. United aren't in great form, but if Goodwillie comes back they'll be a greater threat. It'll either be a low scoring draw (0-0 or 1-1) or a narrow win for us.
-
Superb draw for the Well, mon the Threave! Been to Stranraer and Stenny so let's have a new ground, plus an easier tie of course! Oh aye, and the bigots paired together is a tremendous boost too! Well done the bearded rockers!!
-
Buckie Thistle/East Stirling or Threave Rovers/Stenhousemuir at Fir Park please!
-
Both Sutty and Murph were excellent, but my vote went to Jenno was different class throughout, and a cracking goal too.
-
Delighted to have negotiated a tricky tie so comfortably and with such professionalism. We defended well from the off and totally dominated midfield. Dundee caused us virtually no problems and in truth we could've scored more. The Sutton/Murphy partnership worked very well and how good was Jenno? We still need a couple of new players to supplement the squad, but today was very encouraging indeed.
-
Course I'll be there, we'll all be there. In fact more than usual will be there, we don't get enough of these big games to be blase about going or not going.
-
This is what I feel should happen. Given that Reynolds is unlikely to be with us next season we'll need some experienced cover. I'm sure Saunders, Hutchinson and Page will prove good SPL players but all 3 are still relatively inexperienced.

With the game being live on Sky on a Sunday lunchtime, and with League Cup Semi Final tickets on sale soon, I reckon we'll be doing well to have 1000 Well fans at Dens next week. The crowd will probably be down around 3000 on what would be expected at 3pm on a Saturday, but I suppose the 80k plus from Sky to each club will soften that blow! Been to both away games this week, not sure the funds will stretch to this one too. Its on TV so I can see it, plus we have Tannadice the following Wednesday too, an expensive time for us just now!
-
This might be the most open MOTM vote ever! No-one was outstanding, but my vote went to Mark Reynolds who for me was our most assured player and defended well.

Bloody awful game, again we seemed incapable of dealing with a side who just lump it forward and who are physical. Only Imrie offered anything resembling fitba from an Accies perspective. We at times tried to play fitba, but fell sort most of the time. Too many poor passes in the final third, and not much supply to our forwards. Gow did give away a lot of ball, but was he any worse than Blackman? Very disappointing 90 minutes, nae real fitba to speak of and only a point gleaned from a 'must win' clash. We need to show more physicality allied to our attempts to play fitba, otherwise we'll be bullied out of things every week. The only positives were a clean sheet and an end to the losing run. Need to improve quickly though, or even achieving Top Six will become a tall order.
-
Everything that could go wrong did go wrong against that shower of shite at Fir Park. They got all the luck going and used every nasty trick in the book to slow the game down. I'm convinced that they can't be that lucky again. We of course need to be fired up and get stuck in from the off. If we do that our superior quality will shine through. 2-0 Well and McCall off to a flyer!! See you all there!
-
The SFA wouldn't allow this scenario to happen with either of the bigots. As far as I'm concerned O'Reilly has yet to be cleared of any wrongdoing regards the red card betting scandal, so he should be nowhere near a fitba pitch until then. He will get dogs abuse for 90 minutes and deserved every word of it.
