The fact that both games take place at the weekend should ensure bigger attendances, with all clubs bringing better supports. This means a much better atmos and more cash in the club coffers. As for the game, well we're obviously massive underdogs but that's how we like it. Its a one-off game and you never know. We have plenty of games before it, but I'm sure we'll all be right up for it in the week leading up to the semi.
-
This could potentially be the hardest game of the week, given the efforts in both United games and the injuries suffered. It is usually close against Accies and I expect much the same today. Any win will do me, and I have a hunch it'll be 2-0 with Blackman and Gow on target.
-
Personally I'm just pleased we're in the semis, with a big night to look forward to. Obviously I want Aberdeen at Easter Road, but its more likely we'll get one of the bigots at Hampden. Bring it on!!!
-
Very sad to hear this, all the very best to Joe and his family. Legend.
-
If we are to lose a few to injury it may mean a change in style. That doesn't bother me in the slightest, we've proved we can win ugly if necessary, and if that means we continue our good run then so be it.
-
I though that Crags and Jenno dug in well and lead the team well, but my vote went to Gow who showed loads of skill and was a constant danger throughout.

I would like to avoid either of the bigots in the semi, leave them for the final! The Sheep at Easter Road will do me fine, we certainly enjoyed our last semi final there! As for last night, it was simply a case of getting the job done. United were better than Saturday, but only in the respect that it was harder to beat them. They offered little in the way of fitba, so on that score we deserved it. Well for the cup!!

The first oggie was a near post flick header by the loveable Dave Bowman, and the second was indeed a mis-directed header by Freddy van der Hoorn, although both goals were scored past Guido van der Kamp and not Alan Main, sadly!!!
-
Superb result today, and it didn't matter that our goal were both oggies, made it funnier in fact! Another great start and then falling out of it early in the second half again though, we need to stop doing that. Let's try going 2 or 3 up for a change! The ref seemed a bit inexperienced and at times the game almost got away from him. Not sure how Goodwillie and Daly avoided a card for persistent fouling today, lots of other wee pernickity things too, and that suited United. Let's hope we can do the biz on Tuesday night too!

Thought we had a number of decent performers today, but my vote went to Jenno who did everything a midfielder should.

I hope and pray that we at least really make Rangers work for any victory they may or may not achieve against us. For that to happen we'll have to be defensively organised throughout and show confidence in possession. Can we do that well enough to claim a point or three? Hmmm.... They are due a poor one themselves though, and perhaps facing them after most of their expected line-up has been on international duty could be a slight advantage to us. Despite all that we'd still have to play very well and they be a bit off form for there to be any other result than a home win. The eternal optimism in me says we can do it, away from home we've been excellent all over the park and possess a very real threat. Mind you we very rarely put together a good performance there, but again maybe we are due of change of fortune. Likely result is 1-0 to them, but with God bedecked in Claret and Amber it could be 1-1!!

A 16 team league only gives 30 games, and although it would allow a winter break it would drastically cut clubs income with only 15 home games rather than the current 19. The only way for me we could re-structure without a split would be moving to an 18 team SPL. That would give 34 games, plus we could bring back the League Cup sections in August, giving another guaranteed 3 home games. By doing this we need to open up the leagues below by bringing in a pyramid system to allow the top Ayrshire, Highland and other junior sides the chance to progress.

Good news, and a chance to get a bigger crowd along for this vital match. Only one step from Hampden remember!

Best wishes for a full recovery Kirkie, a living legend!

Why Was John Boyle In The East Stand Yesterday?
Yir Elder replied to Kris*Kaizer 2*Nunn's topic in Club Chat
Maybe he wanted to check out for himself how indistinguishable the tannoy is in the East Stand? -
Despite a generally overall disappointing team performance, there were a few who put in a good shift. I thought Hump, Las and Jenno were very good, but my vote went to Murph for his pace, skill, movement, and of course the all important clinching goal.

Some good things and bad things today, but the main thing was the three points, which we kinda stole! Mind you, both Hibs and Aberdeen stole points from us so today was our turn. We made a tremendous start and could've been three up, but as we fell out the game it could've been all square at the break. Second half was disappointing for the most part, although we did dig in well at times when we were under pressure. That said, we allowed them too much room and gave them too much territory, and we failed to use the ball well for much of the half. Mind you we did finish strongly to claim the win, but it wasn't a great showing and a better side would've taken advantage. We did win though, and we now sit proudly in third place!

These type of games are the ones we traditionally struggle in, and it could be the same on Saturday. They will just get stuck in and make it awkward for us, and the face that they're playing so poorly and are bottom of the SPL just adds to that. As we have still to record our first SPL home win too, I can understand the slight negativity here. However we have been doing okay and must go into the game with confidence. The only change I'd make would be to re-introduce Hammell to the line-up if fit. Any win would do, so I'll say 2-1 to us but a nervy one.

Delighted with that result yesterday. Didn't get to Swinecastle as I was returning from watching St Helens on Friday night, so well pleased with the text updates I got! Now, if we can only convert our away form into results at home!

This occasion deserves a good turnout, let's hope as many Well fans as possible make it over to EK.

Is the draw not seeded at this stage, meaning we will face Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Killie or Falkirk?
-
A win is a win, especially in the cup. Well done big Jonny Page, goal machine!
-
I feel we should make a couple of changes to freshen the side up a little, and I do like the look of Finlay's team although I might select Page ahead of Craigan, just to give the auld geezer a rest! We should be okay tomorrow night, but I don't think it'll be a breeze. A two goal victory will do me, and probably sounds about right too.

It was indeed a truly awful game yesterday, with both teams to blame. We showed little invention going forward whereas the Dons were very defensive and strangled the life out of the game. At least we took a point though, imagine how crabbit we'd all be if we'd lost!! I agree that we need to more centally midfield to front. I feel that Jenno could burst forward into the box, as he showed yesterday, albeit unsuccessfully. However I wonder if both he and Las are being instructed to hold the midfield, allowing our full backs to get forward. That's all well and good, but we really do need more go-forward from central midfield. We do have a number of good attacking options, and I think we should unleash Alan Gow to play in the hole behind Blackman. This would bring the creativity we are missing I feel. Defensively we are fairly solid, but still to prone to a moments slackness, moments that have cost us dear like yesterday. Still, things could be worse. We will be in with a shout for the Top Six for sure, but it might not always be the prettiest to watch. Would we take success that way? You bet!!

Same team for me, no need to change the starting X1 after a good performance and result. I reckon we'll face a determined Sheepy side after their pumping last week, so we'll need to be up for the scrap. It should be another close one, but I'll say 1-0 to us.
