I've sat in the home end twice at Greyskull, and twice had Well goals to celebrate! The second time was a 2-1 defeat in April 1990 when Nick Cusack put us in front. Celebrated the goal but had to hide when they scored! The first time was November 1986, when Ray Farningham scored our 88th minute winner!!! Regarding any tickets left after the ballot, I reckon the club should try to distribute them through the Supporters Association and to season ticket holders again, otherwise the public sale will be exclusively filled by Shellic fans. We want to avoid that at all costs.

Our allocation is 16059 to be precise, with 25039 for Shellic. The rest of the hampden seats are for SFA use and debenture seats.

Ha ha you're probably right mate!!! I've got to be right one of these times though!!
-
I believe that they are there for the taking on Saturday, as long as we get at them from the off, and of course they don't get any help from the match officials! Team wise I'd be happier if we can get Jenno and Hump back in the side. We are long overdue a win against this mob, but I'd be content with a draw.

Bevvy and barbeque at mine after the match, win or lose. Party time regardless of the outcome!
-
Brekkie and booze party at mine from 9am on cup final day! If anyone wants to turn up PM me for my address....oh aye and bring a carry oot too!

Jay's right. All genuine Well fans who want a ticket will get one. Not all Well season ticket holders will require to buy 4 each, so there will be plenty left for everyone else. For me 16000 is more than enough for us in terms of numbers, and also in the respect of out-shouting the Shellic fans.

There is no way any Motherwell team will lie down at Parkhead on the last day of the season. What is likely to happen, regardless of whether the SPL title is race is alive or not, is that Stuart McCall will rest most if not all of his Cup Final starting XI. For me this is a very sensible option, given that Shellic are our opponents and could do some damage to our big hitters ahead of our biggest game in 20 years. So, no conspiracy, just sensible housekeeping by Motherwell!

Everyone did their job very effectively for the team, but for me the stand-out was Jamie Murphy, who was a constant threat to the Saints defence but never neglected his defensive responsibilities. Nice goal too!

After more than a week of apprehension and fear about this game, I have to say how proud I am of the management and players of the club. It was a thoroughly professional and effective performance that St Johnstone couldn't live with. Tactically we had everything spot on, not allowing them space to play through us and countering with such precision. I never expected us to win so easily, I think most of us felt it was over as soon as Sutty made it 3-0. As someone else mentioned, this IS now one of our best seasons in living memory, who'd have thought that back in January eh?!! Full credit has to go to Stuart McCall, who has had his doubters but surely they must realise how wrong they were now?!! Just really chuffed with everything, canny wait until the tickets go on sale for the final, the build up will start then! Mon the Well!!

Ha ha well done you, jammy auld git!!

What an unusual problem Stuart McCall has tomorrow, selecting from a fully fit squad! It is a great problem to have, but also puts extra pressue on him to get it 100% right, no excuses if he doesn't! In defence there are two issues; who plays right back and who partners Hutchinson? For me I'd have Ross in there, as he's done very well so far. Saunders must be a doubt too so I'd only have him on the bench. In central defence Craigan has the experience but the inclusion of Gunning would give greater balance to the side. However I'd plump for Craigan given Gunning's injury lately. The midfield and forward line picks itself, but the other issue is who occupies the bench. I can see the likes of Page, Forbes, McHugh and Casagolda missing out altogether, but I suppose it depends on how we line up tactically.. I am too nervous to make a prediction, but I will say that if we play as we have been recently, then we should reach the final. Any win will do, but I'd rather we weren't hanging on like the United league game! Penalties would be hell too! After 90 minutes please Motherwell! Mon the Well, do us proud!!

Good luck to you and Caroline from me and Sharon mate, hope it all goes well. Oh aye, and get yourself along to Hampden tomorrow, North Stand will be good!
-
Happy enough with that, especially as I'm away at Easter to see family down south and take in two St Helens rugby matches!!
-
Well said guys. He didn't arrive at Fir Park to universal approval, but for me has done a good job so far. Yes we've had a couple of shockers and shown inconsistency, but what Motherwell side hasn't??!!! Well done so far Stuart, a win next Saturday and no-one will doubt you!

We are a win next Saturday away from this being one our best ever seasons. We do want and expect too much at times, but let's enjoy what's left of this season, it could just be about to get even better!

Delighted on a number of fronts. Firstly with the result today, especially given the players missing, and also considering it confirmed our place in the Top Six. That in itself is a great achievement, and one that shouldn't be overlooked for a club our size. The likes of Hibs and Aberdeen have much bigger squads and budgets, so to finish above both is superb. It has to be said that we are on the brink of creating one of Motherwell's best ever seasons in living memory. We've achieved a Top Six place, had our best ever run in Europe, reached the League Cup Semi Final and have the Scottish Cup Semi Final to look forward to. A win next Saturday and we should herald the achievement of this team of ours. Finally, a huge well done to SMC and the lads, especialy for their efforts over the past couple of weeks. With an injury depleted squad, not to mention others playing through the pain barrier, to achieve the results we have is fantastic. The lads are playing great stuff and are giving everything, hugely proud of them all. Well done to everyone at the club.
-
I must admit I'm apprehensive about the semi. Its probably the over-confidence amongst a lot of our support that we're as good as in the final, we certainly are not! Yes we are favourites, and 8 times out of 10 we will beat St Johnstone, but to lose to them in a Hampden semi would be too gut wrenching to bear. We are on the cusp of greatness, but I won't be thinking about the final unless we get there. Don't get me wrong we couldn't have asked for a better draw, and I am quite confident of victory, but not too much!
-
If it were up to me I'd be resting a few of last night's team, guys like Hump and Las who are carrying injuries. I'd hate for anyone to aggrivate an injury ahead of the Semi Final, especially when we've all but guaranteed our Top Six place. So with that in mind this would be my team for Saturday, in a 4-1-4-1 formation: Randolph Saunders Craigan Hutchinson Ross Page McHugh Hateley Forbes Jones Murphy I'd have guys like Sutty, Hump and Las on the bench just in case, but if we can get away with not using them then great. I'd be delighted with a draw, and ICT not winning too of course! Mon the Well!!

Jeez that last ten minutes seemed to last forever! I aged about twenty years after United scored! Talk about hanging on, that was the epitomy of that! Full credit to the players though, three big wins that have taken us to the brink of the Top Six and into another Hampden semi, superb stuff. Already without four players, many of tonight's team were like walking wounded, which makes our backs to the wall heroics even more remarkable. Another two great goals, and a tremendous team effort. Top Six is all but guaranteed now, like others I'd rest a few on Saturday to ensure maximum fitbness and freshness for the semi. Well done lads, proud of you all.
-
I anticipate that all the players carrying injuries will play through the pain barrier against United, with Jefferes added to the team the beat the Sheep. If we get at least a point then most of them could miss the Jambos game, to allow them to recover fully for the semi. United will have unfinished business with us following the cup tie, but I think we are good enough to deal with them. It will be much tougher than last week, and for certain I will take a point. However the motivation of knowing that a win mkes the Top Six place ours, plus the weekend off could drive us on! Either 1-1 or 2-1 to us.

In a generally dogged team display, one player stood out. Hump for MOTM by a country mile.
-
Bordering on racism that!! Also noticed he was referred to as 'Humprey' in the headline!!
-
Didn't think he'd start but I was pleasantly surprised by how well he fitted in to the side. Lasted the pace well, distribution was decent and defended strongly.
