This would be my selection too, although I wonder if Carsy will be fit following his knock on Saturday. A draw would be decent but we are capable of winning.

A win is a win, and after the last two games it was most welcome. Despite a very disjointed overall showing we made more chances today than in the previous two! Ball retention was poor after the break and we looked increasingly nervous as it wore on. However, the character shown and the clean sheet should increase confidence in the squad.

Big Mick was absolutely immense for me. Considering Hutchy had a poor game and we lost both full backs to injury, he held things together superbly. There was also the small matter of the only goal of the game?

It was a night that began with so much promise that ended so gut-wrenchingly horrible. Let's stop talking about it......please!!

It seems certain the Easter Road will host the Jambos v ICT semi so that idea looks a non-starter, sensible though it is.

Whatever the final score is, we need to see some real fight from the team, not to mention some semblance of lessons being learned from the last two matches in terms of attacking verve and creativity. For me Ainsworth has to start, and I'd be tempted to include Vigurs from the start but in the classic 'number ten' position, releasing him from any defensive duties whilst giving him the freedom to open up Hibs. I think it'd be interesting to see how Moore goes from the start. Nielsen Ramsden - Hutchinson - McManus - Hammell Lasley - Carswell Ainsworth - Vigurs - Moore Sutton Subs: Stewart, Lawson, Cummins, McHugh, Francis-Angol, Kerr, Anier 2-1 a Well sounds about right.

Any win against Hearts is a good one, and today was no exception. We made it harder than was strictly necessary, but that's just a Motherwell thing! Magnificent strike from Moore to dig us out a wee hole, at that point it looked like it was going to be one of those days. I'll take 2-1 every week!
-
Sutty for me. Lead the line superbly and linked up well with the midfield. Las and Hutchy were pretty good too.

I expect we'll either hammer them or be in a real struggle for the three points. As others have said they'll be full of enthusiasm but that on its own isn't enough to win Premier League points. If we can dampen that spirit and take our chances it'll be a very good day. If not then we'll gave to go some to even win. Team wise I think we need to restore the Sutton-Anier partnership, although this may mean we're outnumbered in midfield against their likely 4-5-1. With that in mind perhaps a 3-5-2 might work for us on Saturday. Hollis Hutchinson McManus Hammell Ramsden Lasley Carswell Francis-Angol McFadden Sutton Anier With the likes of Ainsworth and McHugh available from the bench we should have enough to win. Well by three.

Pretty sure you're havering old boy!

Great memories for those of us at Swinecastle that afternoon! Gaun yirsel big Kirkie!

Tend to agree with this, I feel we need to be braver when approaching games like this. Not gung-ho or reckless but just showing a tad more belief.

Brilliant post big chap, I'm sure many of us will have similar thoughts. Hope to see you tomorrow!

Inspection at 2pm apparently.

I have to ask what most of us thought the ticket prices would be??!!! You can't compare the cost of an East Stand seat against Inverness (£18) to that for a Champions League qualifier against top class opposition. Remember away fans pay between £22 and £25 at Fir Park, so a fiver on top of that for a higher calibre of opponent and a glamourous European tie isn't unrealistic. My personal view is that £25 would've been right, but we all said we'd pitch in to help the club after everything that's happened, the time has arrived to prove that. Perhaps the extra money might help us bring a couple of new faces in, including a certain maverick ex-Well genius??...... I'll be there, I hope everyone else is too.

Looking for a lift from Glasgow next Monday at 5.30 if anyone's willing!!

Unaware of this game myself, might be worth doing a bit of investigating....

Can only echo what everyone else has said about Crags. He should be remembered as a Motherwell legend, who represented himself and the club with distinction. He is the epitomy of what a professional player should be, and a fine example to any youngster. I will fondly recall both his cup Semi Final goals, and his passionate post-match victory celebrations!! Fir Park won't seem the same without him. Good luck Crags, and thanks.

Absolutely delighted with last night's win that has all but guaranteed 3rd place and Champions League fitba! It was a far from swashbucking display, but the team work and effort from everyone was immense, and it was a deserved three points. Chuffed for big Higgy for his goal, and his best scoring season of his career to date. He's taken some extreme pelters this season, but his goals speak for themselves. Overall its been a great season, we've been in the Top Three for all but ten days of the season, so no-one can argue that we deserve this accolade. Indeed if United take a point tonight we can draw level with Gers if we beat them on Saturday, a tall order I admit! Whatever happens, its been brilliant.
-
This is absolutely massive, we have to win this as it will all but rule out St Johnstone and Hearts from overtaking us too, which will lessen the pressure at least a bit! Of course United could be ahead of us before we kick off on Saturday, but the fact remains that a win will ensure we have AT LEAST a three point gap with United then facing the bigots back-to-back. No matter what anyone thinks, it will be gutting to miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime chance of Champions league fitba at Fir Park. Yes finishing 4th is by Motherwell standards a good season, just not this season after how things have gone. The only definite team change will be Lasley for Carswell. I imagine that Daley will drop out, and for me I'd partner Murphy with Higdon up front. A must win match and probably a nervy affair, unless we hammer them of course! However this is Motherwell, so buckle up people! 2-1 but a tortuous period of hanging on before we celebrate a vital three points!!
-
Not impressed that we've got that arrogant bastard O'Reilly for the second game in a row, especially against that mob with their agenda against refs. A very hard game has just become even harder with this appointment.
-
Despite the fact that oue lead in 3rd has been whittled away to just 5 points, I'd still much rather be in our position than that of United or Saints. They can't afford a slip up in the run-in or they will pretty much be out of it. A win for us at Easter Road on Sunday would be fantastic, but I get the feeling that we won't require too many more points to clinch 3rd spot, as the Top Six will take a lot of poits from each other. YES WE CAN!!!
-
The simplest way for the lads to approach Saturday is to avoid doing whatever we've done against them in the last few years!! None of that has worked, so it seems to me the only tactic left to adopt is the old 'dogs of war' approach! Get fired right into them from kick off, don't allow them time on the ball and work like trojans for the full 90 minutes. Yes we will tire, hopefully we will use the correct subs at the correct time to counter this. I have faith in our team, they are an honest bunch of triers who will sometimes play shite but who have, for the most part, given us a very good season. However, there will be no excuses for another limp, lifeless, gutless and soul destroying defeat against this shoddy Gers mob. I will deal with defeat on the proviso that our team have given everything and ran them close. Anything else is unacceptable. Team wise Las will return for Carswell, but I'm toying with the idea of putting Ojamaa on the bench. He hasn't reached his highest standard over the past few weeks, and perhaps starting from the bench will give him a wee jolt, and allow someone like Daley the chance to impress again. No prediction, it's just not worth it!!
-
Wasn't aware of it to be honest. Where can you find copies to uplift? Am I right to assume you'll be able to get one at Fir Park?
-
I'm certain that whatever Killie feel is an appropriate tribute, it will be the right thing to do and all Well fans will observe it respectfully. Team wise I hope McCall selects what he feels is the best side available to win this particular match, even if it means Pagey drops out. It would be harsh on him but at this time of the season there's no room for sentimentality. 2-0 Well.
