Will they even bother? Given their track record, they may just approach the person in question or their agent directly.

Do they have enough money to buy out another manager's contract? I thought an out of work candidate would be thier approach.

It works both ways. If refs want to be treated with more respect, they should stop being fucking useless at their jobs.

Do you not maybe think that the people that would make good refs have no inclination to be abused by cheating half-wits every week?

I think that horse bolted about 40 years ago.

They were supposedly cracking down on it again this season, but that lasted about 2 games.

It is ridiculous though. Football is really the only game where players can backchat to officials for an entire game with no consequence.

Spittal not out of contract so if he leaves we get zero benefit other than his wages to spend (gamble) on someone else?

And holding him up as an example to potential new signings of how our club can be a stepping stone to develop your career. When we don't have much money to spend, that is often a good selling point.

Something very fishy about the way Aberdeen is conducting business. Its convenient that Neil Warnock "resigned" just as They were concluding negotiations.

It feels like Warnock and Aberdeen quickly realised it was a disaster after the first few weeks and have been working on this exit strategy. Very strange to appoint someone with little or no knowledge of the Premiership to steady the ship.  If you want to make an appointment like that you need to be doing in the summer when they have time to figure things out.

Still a shame he's gone though as he was doing a great job of underperforming.

It would be the most ‘Motherwell’ thing ever if we follow up a win against Rangers at Ibrox with a home defeat to a struggling Aberdeen next week.

Or, indeed, almost any other team in the Premiership given the well understood psychology of the game,

  7. If there is a new investor coming onboard, especially if they are going to take a majority shareholding, they decide who becomes CEO - assuming they want to run the CEO model as that's only one option in structuring a business.

As for the game, as long as we keep the tempo up for the full 90+, we should have enough to keep the lead this time instead of surrendering it.

Lets be honest if VAR takes four minutes to decide that something is a penalty, it is not an obvious error.

    That's my biggest gripe.

I saw it used in a competition a couple of years ago - I think one of the CONCAF ones - where they had 30 seconds to decide to overrule. Anything longer than that and the decision on the pitch stood. Worked really well.

The fact the VAR officials are from the same pool of refs that make poor decisions on the pitch doesn't help either.

And the fact that the VAR officials often get to pick and choose what to review opens the whole process up to accusations of bias (rightly or wrongly) in favour of the "big" teams.

These are the type of situations VAR was made for, clear and obvious error by the officials.  Right now the VAR looks at hairline offside decisions, possible errors by the officials and anything else that takes their fancy.

I'd still prefer no VAR and take the hit for the rare situation like that one.

No VAR in the Championship, that's how. 😅

I was watching that game live, and as well as no VAR, in real time it 100% looked like the keeper saved it. It wasn't until the 2nd replay the commentator noticed the handball.

Rule 1 footballing lesson. Get stuck in and dont think your the big team and passing ability will always win.

I doubt anyone on our team thought that. Even less likely after the number of games we'd lost up until that point. And even less likely again given SK's match prep.

Sorry but Bevis has been outstanding for us recently and his efforts on Saturday confirmed to me he is more than worth a new deal also figure in the fact he is good for a few goals a season 100 percent keep!

Agreed. He was always a good physical presence to have in defence, but his overall performances have improved since he joined us and he's been on top form recently.

I'm not particularly talking about your post. It was the Nigerian investor one that I thought was inappropriate

That was aimed at our Board's investment strategy rather than him, but I removed it anyway.
