  1. Theo Bair in 2024: 9 goals in 12 league games.

KVV in 2024: 0 goals in 8 league games.

I said a few times I didn't want him back this year, and this is why. He obviously wasn't close to being fit and his head was definitely not in the right place.

He might sort himself out again over the summer, but likely to revert back to his more typical 9 or 10 goals a season form. We did well to get the best from him when we did.

    Still a legend, though.

There’s a difference between saying it in a wee presser and saying to  it on a  national radio programme just before the game. But nobody will do anything about it.

You realise the "wee presser" comments were reported in every national newspaper and on the national radio programme too?

I like that he's stood his ground and told the SPFL they cannot dictate what happens should the Dundee game be called off. TL;DR - it's Dundee's fault, and Motherwell shouldn't suffer.

I like that too, but of course the SPFL can dictate what happens if the Dundee game is off in much the same way they ignored Motherwell and Ranger's protests over the rescheduling of our game at Christmas.

I thought Tannaduce had been ruled out because it didn’t have the correct set-up for VAR; if that’s the case, I’d be surprised if Airdrie had the appropriate equipment. Does that mean closed door games don’t been VAR or have controversial decisions??

If it's to be believed, the report I read said they would have to install VAR cameras at Airdrie if the game was moved there.

  5. Regarding the statements, or lack of. There are all sorts of legal, compliance and regulatory issues defining exactly what can and can't be said during these kinds of transactions - and they mostly boil down to not being able to say very much.

That is true for dealings both sides of the pond.

I don't see anything about the potential investor being American, only that they are a "US-based family" - and there's a quite a few us of us here that fit that bill and are not American (I'm not the investor, btw).

Enjoyed the analysis of the "2017 Trump Tax Reforms' though. Thousands of pages of complex tax law distilled into "you can write off overseas losses".

BTW, not saying I'm in favour of this - I voted against allowing overall control for any investor and I'll need to see some serious detail before I continue to contribute to the Society.

If anyone managed to find a way to skim £750k from our books without being noticed they are a financial wizard - and should be working for Accies.

The playoffs should be the same as the English system ie 2 sides relegated from the Scottish Premiership, 1 automatic promotion from championship and the other spot via the playoffs. As what we have now is biased in favour of the side finishing 11th as they only have 2 games to play.

Still destroys the integrity of the league format. Look at the English Championship this season. Ipswich, Leeds and Leicester fighting for the top spot with 87, 86 and 85 points respectively. If there are 3 promotion spots they deserve one each for their consistent form. Norwich, who are 6th and 21 points behind Leicester (and won only 19 games compared to Leicester's 27 wins) shouldn't even be in that conversation.

Playoffs are a horrible American idea that should have stayed this side of the Atlantic.

Is that for players or the club as a whole?

Unclear from the article which just states "Wages were up by around £800,000 last year to £5.2m compared to the previous year" but probably broken down in the filing if anyone wants to track it down.

  9. I agree about hating the split. It makes us look like a tinpot league and takes away some of the integrity of playing every team the same number of times.

I also hate the playoffs for a similar reason. There is no way a team that finishes fourth should get a sudden death chance for promotion over the team that finished second after a full season. After Dundee Utd and Raith Rovers have opened a huge gap and been slugging it out every week, can you imagine if it was Dunfermline - 17 points behind - who got the shot at the playoff? Would be a travesty.

I'd rather not have any play offs and prefer a straight 2 up, 2 down. If we do need to have one, however, then 2nd bottom vs 2nd top is the only way for me.

I'm not going to make any predictions about the business end of the season yet. Once we know who we're playing (and where) I'll fire up the ZX Spectrum and figure it out.

  10. Using my best google fu, all I could find was the Shrewsbury Chairman pointing out they took a big hit during Covid, and after that they kept spending more than they were bringing in. I also see their wage bill rose £800k in the past season to £5.2 million (which seems a bit reckless if when you are racking up big losses - but that's club owners for you).
