  1. If nothing else we're starting to see the answer to the question "what style will SK want to play when he starts bringing in his own players?" Definitely more passing from the back and definitely playing more through the midfield. It worked in spells, and it others it lacked cohesion. The movement for the goal was excellent. Queen's Park are probably as good as some of the teams we'll play in the league this season so a good early test.
  2. You come at the Queen's you better not miss Make your choice...
  3. Not sure why a CEO would be involved in any aspect of recruitment other than budgetary.
  4. In the UK it is. For the overseas subscribers like the Texan and me, it's a video stream.
  5. Looks like we're in luck - it's showing up now in the Motherwell TV site.
  6. Whether it ultimately works out or not, you have to think our recruitment strategy is a bit more creative than some of our neighbours' efforts (we're looking at you Paisley).
  7. It was amazingly poor - only the two relegated teams shipped more goals. From what SK and Frail have said it sounds like they are setting up the same way again this season, so could be an entertaining afternoon.
  8. He must give good lunches. I see the SPFL has cost the league a few quid too by fighting and losing their case against Ranger's sponsorship deal vs the Cinch deal. Something you'd have thought any decent contracts lawyer would have figured out when negotiating the original deal.
  9. It doesn't yet. For Saturday's game we'll only get an official stream if Viaplay say's it's OK (and let's us use their video). I'm not holding my breath on that one,
  10. St Mirren were in the same boat last season and they finished in the top 6. Sometimes the group stages are a predictor of form for the upcoming season, but it's a bit early to be reliable.
  11. The more successful players are after they leave us the better it is for us. Prospective signings can see we are a good step in their career progression and prospective buying clubs can see the value in players we are selling.
  12. Doonshamers? Take your pick...
  13. Watching the text commentary on the BBC site is like the good old Ceefax days.
  14. Kelly being deployed in his Scotland role tonight. Another interesting line-up. Might not be pre-season, but SK is definitely working through his rotations.
  15. I'm more interested in entertainment and any team we play on grass is much better for that. Not to mention injuries like the on Butcher picked up. I'm happy to see new teams in our league too - would have loved Ayr Utd to have made it this time - but I doubt Dundee are more of a threat than Queens Park. In fact, Queens Park are probably spending more these days to get into the top flight.
  16. I'm not a fan of Goodwin, but I'd much rather have Utd in our league than Killie or Livi.
  17. From today, according to the Herald. I know it's a different situation in the UK because they are basically just rebranding BT Sport, but I'm not a fan of TNT's coverage in the US. Too much excruciatingly bad banter in the studio.
  18. We could never afford to sign a player like Johnston so there is zero chance we'll be bringing in someone has good as him on a transfer. However, as SK said in his recent interview, he is already assessing our academy youngsters to see who can handle the step up, who needs to stay in the academy and who will benefit from a loan. He certainly talked a good game about getting the balance right between youth and experience. It could be, that someone like Wilson is the next one to step up and fill that role in defence, or it could be that SK decides the youthful energy is better served by guys like Ross or Miller further up the pitch.
  19. Confident interceptions, reading passes and comfortably tidying up in defence don't make good youtube videos.
  20. If Cornelius had stuck around we could have had Deano singing it.
