  1. We've been threatening that for a while with the number of chances we've been making. Glad to see we were a bit more clinical this evening.
  2. Staggies Staggered. Make your choice...
  3. Stuart Kettlewell in as new lead development coach - working with the Development and U18 teams. Seems like a good appointment as he has a decent track record with youngsters, winning the Development League with Ross County U20s. Plus, as an ex-manager, he knows what it takes to make the step up to first team football.
  4. Where's Andy Lynch when you need him? (The weans will need to google that one). Make your choice...
  5. I'm stopping watching now and counting this as a draw.
  6. I thought you'd disappeared after the first Hearts goal. Welcome back (and cheerio!)
  7. SH: I've watched every game, or parts of every game, Celtic have played in the past 2 years. Also SH: I've not over analysed it or anything Good man.
  8. Now you mention it, I don't remember Yosemite Sam being clean shaven. It's all starting to make sense.
  9. Halls of Fame intentionally spread out inducting their best players over a number of seasons otherwise people lose interest early on.
  10. Former Players' Club looking for donations to their benevolent fund. Direct link the the justgiving page is here.
  11. We need to aim for about 75% possession. They can't score when they don't have the ball. Would be just our luck if we find our scoring touch and stick 3 or 4 chances away, and still lose. I'm genuinely interested to see how SH approaches this. Whether he goes for a park-the-bus, flood the midfield, man-marking, counter-attacking or some combination.
  12. That would be hilarious, if only to read your meltdown posts.
  13. Do McGinn and Lamie not count as experience at the back?
  14. Can't beat a left back playing at left back. Penney showing how important that is.
  15. Thoughts and votes before we enter the void of the international break...
  16. If you 'd rather we played more like Robinson's St Mirren than Hammell's Motherwell you are in for a long season of disappointment.
  17. Mark Gillespie will be able to show him all the best pubs to watch the first team play on match day.
  18. First of all, I didn't see anything over the weekend about the police insisting all games in Scotland had to be cancelled, So put that aside for a minute. If I was handling communication for the league I'd just be as clear as possible For example. 1. Police haven't told us anything. Statement: the police are unable to confirm any plans for upcoming matches 2. Police think there may be some games that have to be cancelled, but can't say when or where Statement: the police anticipate that a small minority of games may be impacted and we will communicate the details as soon as we have them 3. Police say they think games in Edinburgh or Glasgow may be affected Statement: there is a possibility games in Edinburgh/Glasgow may be called off at short notice due to a restriction in police numbers. We appreciate this is not ideal and will try to give as much advance warning as possible etc. etc. No need for weasel words or finger pointing. Just clear facts, impact and how we plan to deal with the situation as it develops.
  19. Or every cricket match (not cancelled at the weekend) or golf tournament (not cancelled at the weekend) or rugby (not cancelled at the weeked) or horse racing (not cancelled at the weekend) etc etc. Nobody is saying there aren't legitmate reasons for cancelling games. What I am saying is that our league has a track record of poor management of these things (like some of the 'covid' postponement debacles with St Mirren and Killie) and they aren't showing any clearer leadership now.
  20. Of course, but you know they will use it as an excuse for any poor decisions they make or have already made.
  21. Still has the weasel words: I still wouldn't be surprised to see some games cancelled with the excuse that they are sending police elsewhere to assist, or can't send them to games because of higher threat levels of terrorist activity. Even the "we can confirm the intention for the professional game to resume as normal" statement isn't definitive. They could just have said "we can confirm the professional game will resume as normal". Better than nothing, though, and at least there should be something to watch somewhere.
  22. I admire everyone's confidence in the competence of our administrators who are on board with us kicking off a major cup tie at 6:15pm.
  23. Was watching the team in claret and amber losing in rugby league. Switched to golf now.
  24. Also, those in Westminster are much more likely to be Racing or Cricket fans than football fans. Can't miss out on a chance for Champers at The Oval.
