I'm OK with managers sticking up for their team in press interviews. I agree, however, he was a mile out in his analysis.

Hopefully nobody will have had time to feed the "we need to be at our best and them to underperform" patter to Wimmer yet and he just sets out a team that will earn some points. Doubt we'll get any, but at the very least it will be more competitve game time to work on the new tactics.

I've seen quite a few relegation teams over the years, but I don't see it in this one at the moment. Even just the fact they will play hard to the final whistle is a good sign. I won't be surprised if we're 8th or 9th, but if the new gaffer can get a higher tempo, higher energy team playing that might help compensate a bit for the wobbly defence.

A customer from Colorado I work with is Mexican. He knows I'm a Motherwell supporter and told me last week he was a Dundee fan now thanks to the 2 Mexicans that joined them in January, and was looking forward to this game. Not my best anecdote, but true nonetheless.
