  1. That's a good point. I'm sure there a lot of long distance fans who invested their travel budget in the League Cup final. If I travelled to both finals it would have cost me close to $3000.
  2. {Every ticket thread on here} "We're in the Final" -- "Brilliant - how many tickets have we sold?" "I don't know - we're in the final" --"Great - but why has 'Flow not insisted on more tickets?" "We're in the Final" --"Aye, Brilliant - can we stop calling it he Celtic end?" "It's our second final of the season" --"I know, but the tickets - how many? "It's the FINAL" --"Aye, but the tickets need to go to real 'Well fans, not day trippers" "2nd FINAL" --"Only half the tickets sold? That's poor" "IT'S THE FINAL" --"Do I need to sit in my allocated seat?"
  3. We've got what these days? 4,000 regulars? Even if there are double that in occasional/long distance attendees, that still only takes us up to 12,000. I suspect if it wasn't one of the OF we were up against, there may have been a few more occasional fans that made an effort to come along.
  4. They're limited by parking. I think, like the semi, the club has run all the buses that Hampden will accommodate.
  5. So it seems like we managed to keep all those pesky "day trippers" away then? That was a close call.
  6. They weren't "fudged" they were laughably wrong. It was obvious at the time that, during his loan spell, he benefited from an improvement in form from the rest of the team. But there were still those who were convinced just putting him between the sticks suddenly made guys like McFadden play better.
  7. For all his faults, Samson ended up doing better than Twardzik after he left us. And people on here kept trying to persuade me Dan was going to be the answer to our goalkeeping problems.
  8. With specatacularly bad timing, I have to work Cup Final weekend. I knew ahead of the semi that I wouldn't be able to make it if we won, so I'm planning to come over for one of the European games instead (or the League Cup...). I might be jinxed though, so not a bad thing - I flew back for the CIS Cup final and that didn't turn out too well.
  9. It's not about fitness it's about sharpness. Two different things. Maybe it was lack of sharpness that led to the 2nd half slow start against Rangers. I'm sure Robinson has a plan though - and I suspect it will be a balanced one.
  10. If a player has a knock that needs rest, by all means rest him. And maybe give some of the fringe players extra minutes just in case. I agree, however, the makeup of our team and nature of our tactics means we need to be playing the bulk of the first team over the remaining games. Just look at how someone like Grimshaw has found his form from competitive minutes.
  11. I'm delighted a long time servant of our club had made a name for himself as a top coach. I hope plenty of others follow in his footsteps as it does nothing but good to our reputation as a club. I know we've had this discussion before, but you don't need to have been a top class player to be a top class coach. Totally different skill sets.
  12. Nowhere near as bad as Mr. Gardiner.
  13. No - he had plenty of help on that score from his teammates.
  14. Nothing that we didn't know already, but if we play like Hibs last week with a high pressing, high tempo game (and take our chances) we have a chance of winning. If we play like Rangers have in their past 2 encounters - standing off and giving them space to play - they could take 5 or 6 off us.
  15. This picture in the Herald yesterday makes it look like our stands have disappeared.
  16. I wish it was Rangers we were playing in the final.
  17. Solomon Islands according to Wikipedia.
  18. Probably a contractual thing - have to wear it so many times in a season. (Or they have some to shift in the club shop).
  19. Dundee seem to have been doing that for most of the season. Creating and missing loads of chances and giving up goals at the back.
  20. Good 3 points, extended the gap over St Johnstone, Scott gets some more game time and Kipré doubles his value now he's a goal scoring machine.
  21. That's strange. Are Dundee wearing their away kit too? I'd have thought dark grey and dark blue are too similar.
  22. Aye, and our club was ready to vote to keep Rangers in the top flight (unil the fans spoke up). We have been as bad as the rest when it comes to the OF imbalance and to keeping idiots like Doncaster in power, so let's not try and blame everyone else.
  23. When met McCulloch, were you in the East Stand with an umbrella?
  24. I never get any updates or emails from the Exiles Club. I think I must have joined the Exiled Exile Club by mistake.
