  1. It's that thing Tom Boyd lifted in the air at Hampden, 18th May, 1991.
  2. By all accounts McCall is still on good terms with all at the club - players and board members. Not really surprising given the way we are in. Ex players and managers speak highly of the "family".

You don't just sign up as a ref and get an SPFL gig, though. The guy in charge of the last Rangers v Hearts game earned 195 quid. And there is a significant drop off below that. If it's that desirable, you could sign up yourself and make some extra cash. But like most of the rest of us you won't, because it's not something we want to do.
  4. Definitely had our best interests at heart, even if he nearly bankrupted us! For all that, we were lucky he mostly learned from his mistakes and, unlike some owners, didn't walk away and leave us in the lurch. No doubt he kept us alive during the past few years and made sure a new owner also had the club's interest at heart.

The wider issue is that nobody wants to be a ref, so we end up with a low standard.
  6. He normally takes his personal time off around 25 minutes into the first half.
  7. Opinion stated as fact is always more entertaining than discussion. It's what made the internet great.
  8. Sort of attitude we need to take into the rest of the season. Feared the worst when we went down to 10 men so early, so kudos for grabbing a point.
  9. That could leave a few punters rooked.
  10. Wish someone would bully me into GM of a football club.
  11. Personally, the best result for me would be a home win.
  12. Latest MFC tweet shows that they have cleared all the snow off the playing surface.
  13. A team with no cash to spend, fighting a relegation battle and looking for fresh faces in the January window, isn't going to be spoiled for choice. Never know with these things, though. Sometimes a change of scenery can bring out the best in a player. Skippy is one example of that.
  14. Well,it's more encouraging than playing worse.
  15. Not much happens in January in the way of acquiring good players. Even less so when you have no budget to spend or players to offload to make room.
  16. I'm sure the team will draw inspiration from all the encouragement on here and go on to a narrow win.
  17. Plus, when he was at Dundee, he always scored against us.
  18. Josh and Nicky Law were both under 25 when we signed them and at least one of them was good. And Steve Hetherington and Nicky Devlin were other U-25s to add to that list.
  19. Is Baraclough actually in the market for a new keeper?
  20. In 1974 that would probably have meant something - not so much these days.

    Relegation

Hamstring injury and out for 2 months?
  22. Of course. If you use "could", that is always valid. The next 4 games could result in a solar eclipse. The next 4 games could see John Sutton score 15 goals. The next 4 games could be postponed. Most likely, however, we'll pick up a few points and still be in a dogfight.
  23. Avoid relegation still the starting point for me.
